Progress Reports and Report Cards
L.Brown 2014
The lab teacher will issue progress and cycle grades based on current progress in the on-line course software. These grades
will appear on the report card but will not be moved to Historical Information record (course history).
These grades will be used for UI L eligibility and to inform parents of progress.
As students complete half credit/semester/quarter courses in the lab, the course and credit will be entered directly into their
Historical Information record (course history).AI SD Student Services
IMPORTANT: YOU WILL BE MOST SUCCESSFUL IF YOU LISTEN TO THE VIDEOS CAREFULLY, TAKE GOOD NOTES, AND
DO THE ASSIGNMENTS WITH YOUR BEST EFFORT. YOU WILL COMPLETE YOUR COURSES MORE QUICKLY BY DOING
THESE THINGS.
Cheating:
Cheating involves giving or receiving unauthorized help by talking, by using written notes, or by any other visual, oral, or tactile
means. It is claiming someone else's work as your own. In accordance with school policy, cheating will result in a grade of F, a phone
call home, and a disciplinary referral. You may be withdrawn from the virtual lab and/or fail the course in which you are enrolled.
Assignments:
Students are required to take notes daily, either in Edgenuity or a notebook, reflecting the content of the subject and corresponding
activities. These notes will be useful when studying for and taking online quizzes/exams. Each course is divided into units/topics and
lessons. Each lesson should take no more than 30-45 minutes with a 10-question quiz after each lesson.
Non-Negotiable:
1. Note taking is MANDATORY for ALL instruction in ALL classes.
2. Only Edgenuity or Schoology may be open on your computer. Having other programs open will force your work to be
reset and your grade to be docked.
3. The online learning lab is a silent class, meaning there can be no discussion between students.
Feedback to Students:
As needed, I will conference with you regarding your performance and progress in class. Phone calls home will be made as needed
(positive or negative).
When You Are Absent:
You are responsible for completing each of your courses in a timely matter. As a guideline, you should complete about 10-15% of
your course per week.
NOTE: Students failing to make adequate progress in the class may be removed from the class. The Online Learning Lab experience
is a privilege, not a right. It is a fantastic opportunity to help you meet graduation requirements.
