Insha'Allah has a deeper meaning
Once the revelation of the Quran stopped for 2 weeks coz the Prophet
Sallahu alaihi wa salaam forgot to say insha'Allah.

Allah is in CONTROL of everything. We don't have the control. We may

plan, but Allah controls and decides on it.

Surahtul Buruj 85: exemplifies this.

The statement "Insha'Allah" (wa hu wa ala kuli shayin qadeer) -
Creation of Death, life, the heavens and the stars
Halaqah - to create out of nothing -
He is the one who creates death and life -
As mentioned in a hadith
Surah Al-Imran 3:185 - Every soul will taste death
Surah Kahf - And the agonies of death came with an inescapable
truth.

Death is a creation and death will end

Oh people of jannah, there is no death. You will be in Jannah for
eternity. There will be happiness like no other.

Oh people of hell fire, eternity. There is no death. They will feel

Allah will call the people of Jannah and people of hell fire one day and

that knowledge.

Surahtul Mariam 19:39 (The Day of Regret)
Oh people of hell fire, eternity. There is no death. They will feel
so much guilt, remorse that day.

Life is the life of the heart and not the life of the body
The likeness of life are those who remembers Allah and those
who don't remember Allah, are dead

You start calculating your life the moment you start connecting with
Allah. This is the meaning of life.

Allah talking about the life of the hearts

Talking particularly to the believers, and usually a
warn or command after

Oh you who believe (Ya ayuhal ladhi na amannu) 89 times

Oh mankind (Ya ayuhan Nass) 20 times
In Surahtul Hajj - It is not the eyes that goes blind,
but the heart in the chest

Heart is the organ that if it is sound, the whole body is

Oh you who believe! Answer Allah and His messenger when he

Surah Al-Anfal 8:24

Know that this life is only play and amusement, you boast
with one another, and rival in respect of wealth and

We need to have a plan for the REAL life, life for eternity
This current life is just a passage
Life is a TEST
What is the meaning of life of a muslim?
These are reminders for us.
And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear
(al-hawfi), hunger (al-ju'), loss of wealth, lives and
fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabiroon.

Surah Al-Bakarah 2:155

When Allah gives doesnt mean He's pleased with you, when
Allah denies, doesnt mean that He is displeased (Surahtul
Fajr 89:15-16)

How do you use it or do you abuse it?

A test can also be in the form of gifts to us
Al-Kahf 110:18 ??? - Sincerity of intentions, only to
please Allah.
1.
Al Ahzab 33:21 Following the sunnah of the prophet sallahu

2.
How can I know what I'm doing is good? 2 conditions:

What are the forms of the test?

Allah creates life
Al-Azeez and Al-Ghafoor, what do these attributes mean and why were these
names chosen?
When any ayah ends with a certain attribute of Allah, they are relevant and
connected to the main theme of the Surah.

al-ardu izzazz - part of the land that is rocky and powerful
On our way back to Allah, we makes mistakes. And the only One who
forgives us, over and over again is Allah who has all the power and is

He is displeased (Surahtul Fajr 89:15-16)

The quality of the deed is more important than the

quantity
Allah created the whole universe (land, moon, sun, stars,
sea) to serve us. But He created us to serve Him.

Can't Allah know His own creation. He is Al-Lateef, Al-Khabeer 14.
Some very tiny & small -
Gentle & nice -
Comes from Lateef -
Allah is the most gentle a)
When there is a secret that is very tiny, Allah knows of these minute
things
b)
Al Lateef -
From Sahih Muslim -
There are 2 men, one is a Takeef, one is a Quraish. One of them asked, "Will
Allah hear us? Perhaps if we speak in a loud voice, He may hear us?" Allah
replied that He knows even before they spoke.
Abu Jahal (Amr bin Hisham) was seating in Darul talking. One day -

Allah's Favour of Subjugating the Earth to His Servants 67:15
When the farmer covers the seeds in soil, who subjugated the land to produce
the fruits, such that they can taste different.
-
On that day will be the greatest earthquake and man, when
resurrected will ask what is wrong with the earth? The earth which
is a creation of Allah, will speak and declare its info, testifying
for and against mankind.
-
Al-Zalzalah 99:
Who's in ultimate control?
Allah, He can use His mercy - rain, wind... as something against you.
Allah is the one who makes the earth subservient to us. -
The creations will ask Allah to destroy mankind, but Allah tells them to
leave us alone for He has mercy for us.

Allah made the earth subservient to you so you should seek out of the bounty
of Allah --> put in effort

How Can You Feel Secure against the punishment of Allah 67:16-18
Beware of a tribulation that is coming. When it comes, it doesnt only hit
certain people, but you may be one of them too.
-
The Prophet Sulaiman once overheard the ants talking and asked
them what provisions do they need in a whole year, they replied
just 2 grains of rice
Tie your camel & leave it to Allah.

Surah At-Tahrim 66:6
Oh you who believe! Save yourselves and your

Knowledge is light and will guide us to Jannah and ignorance is
dark and will lead us to the hellfire.
The Eternal Journey - Tafseer Juz Tabarak Page 7
What can make you feel secure when you keep on sinning?
Stop sinning
Can you feel secure from the One in the Heavens (Allah) that he might command

People of Thamud
People of Prophet Nuh
Shall we not learn from them?
Take the warning of Allah seriously. They may happen anytime. -
The Flight of Birds is by the Power of Allah
When the birds spread their wings it makes them light and easy to fly. But
what happens when they fold their wings?
-
Only Allah will help them stay flying in the sky, Ar Rahman -
The analogy here, previously, He's talking about provision and now
it's talking about the birds flying
-
The leave their nests with an empty stomach in the morning and
return to their nests in the evening with stomachs that are
full.

If you put your total trust in Allah, He'll provide to you like how
He provides for the birds.
-
Thus from here, we can also learn that Allah is all seeing, all
knowing.
-
At the end of the ayah, indeed Allah can see everything
Why are the birds mentioned? -
No one can help you and no one can grant you sustenance, except Allah
Numbers and weapons cannot give victory with Allah's aid, example, Battle of
Badr
-
If Allah were to give you victory, no one can defeat you. -
Who, but Allah will provide the provisions for you. -
Parable of the disbeliever and the believer 67:22
The one who can see the clear signs -
I left you a very clear path (mahajja) if anyone tries to take a short
cut and deviate, he will not make it to the final destination, ie
Jannah.

Allah said, this is my straight path, follow it. There are deviated
ways. If you follow the deviated ways, it will take you away from the
footsteps of the Prohphet Sallahulaihi wa salaam

The Prophet Sallahulaihi wa salaam -

Allah's power to create & being an evidence of the final abode 67:23-27
When a calamity hits us, we always goes back to Allah. It was bad, but it was
good, disguised in "bad".
-
Allah equips us with things, even before we needs them -
During the first few days of a newborn, they can't see, but they can
hear.

For the first 2 years, they can't reason

He gives us our mind to start reasoning -
The order of the ayah -
Hearing 1.
Seeing 2.
Reasoning 3.
Dua': Oh Allah, who gave me my hearing, back and my sight back and
opportunity to remember Him.
Not enough to just say Alhamdulillah by the tongue, realize it in your heart. -
Use your eyes to look at halal -
Allah has given us time to spend with family and tighten the kinship -
Allah tells us that knowledge is only with Allah and for the prophet
sallahualaihi wa salaam to tell them that he doesnt know, that he is only
the warner.
-
Tell them that this is the day they (the disbelievers) were making
dua'/asking for. Now face your day
a)
This the day that you use to claim that will never happen, but here it
is, it happened.
b)
Allah said, when they saw it(the day of judgment) approaching, see the
reaction on the faces of the disbelievers - the sadness and the distress
27.
The death of a believer will not save the disbeliever, so let him reflect
upon his deliverance
-
Reminding of Allah's blessings by springing of water
If you go in the morning to the well, for the your animals and plants, water
the source of life. Who else will give you water?
-
How we take this for granted. -
(Al-Anbiya 21:30)
Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and earth And We have

Another agreement (the truce of hudaibiyah) The prophet told Ali to write

Allah uses Ar-Rahmaan. All the beautiful names and attributes of Allah.
The Eternal Journey - Tafseer Juz Tabarak Page 9
Why did the revelation stop for 2 weeks when the Prophet Sallahualaihi wa
salaam did not say insha'Allah?
The jews living during the time of the prophet Sallahualaihi wa salaam went
to him to ask him about the people of the cave and about Dhul'karnian - the
man who toured the east and the west.
The Prophet Sallahualaihi wa salaam told them, "I'll tell you tomorrow"
without saying, "insha'Allah"
So he waited for two weeks until the revelation came from Allah about the
story of two of those events in Surah Al-Kahf (18) and an ayah in the surah
mentioned, never say something without saying, "insha'Allah"
Khalaf - after, generation after
Khalafa, opposite of Salaf -
Why did Allah create evil?
Allah gave us a trust - the free choice to believe or not to believe. -
When Allah created Adam, the angels asked Allah, "Why would you create
somebody who would create bloodshed on earth when we glorify You?"
-
Its because the angels viewed the creation of Adam and they expected
them

Another explanation, they've seen the jinn created before, and the jinn
are like us where they accepted the trust - to believe or not, and
they've seen that the jinns have disobeyed Allah and so they expected us
to do that too.

Another interpretation, another creation have been created before us and

they've created hardship and bloodshed also, so the humans are also
expected to do the same.

Why would the angels say this? -

Indeed I know what that you don't know.
Allah wanted to prove to the angels that if mankind would accept the
trust and honor it, they would be better in the sight of Allah than the
angels.

Allah then told Adam the name of things. And Allah asked the angels if
they know the name of things, they replied they do not know. So Allah
told Adam to teach the angels. Allah created Adam and honored him

What did Allah say to the angels? -

Allah knows best and He has a purpose behind everything He created -
Allah created us with knowledge and He gave us free will -
18:29 - Oh Muhammad say to them, the truth came from your Lord, you are free
to believe and you have free choice.
-
So is evil attributed to the human who abused the freedom and power
Allah has given us? Or to Allah?

If you want Allah to stop evil, you are saying that you want Allah to take
away our free choice.

From the words/revelation of Allah

Omar Radiallahu anh, before he became a muslim, he wanted to kill the
Prophet. He said, my journey to Islam came in stages.
One night there was a woman who wanted to go to Madinah and join her husband,
coz she became muslim. Omar saw her and asked her where was she going? She
bravely told him that she wanted to leave the country and be with her
husband. He was impressed
If the donkey of the family of Omar ibn Khattab, accepted Islam, Omar himself
will never accept Islam.
His own maid was a muslim and he enjoyed beating her up, until he became
tired but she just kept on saying la illaha illahAllah. So he wondered what
made this maid insistent on staying muslim. So one day he went out to have a
drink with his friends, but could not find his friends.
So he went to the ka'bah, coz he was so bored and depressed, when he reached
there, someone was there praying and reciting the Quran.
So he came close to the Ka'bah and saw the prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam
reciting the Quran. Omar started to walk slowly on his toes to listen. And
the Prophet was reciting surahtul Haqqa.

Ascend the angels and ruh (the spirit/soul) to Him

When we do something good, it is written down right away and multiplied. -
But for the ummah of Muhammad sallahu alaihi wa salaam, when we do something
bad, it is not written down right away. We are given about 6 hours, and in
that time, if we were to repent, that bad deed wont be written down. And when
we make tawbah, it will be erased. SubahanAllah.

our soul leaves our bodies.
Our jasad will go back to the earth
Our soul goes back to Allah
When we die, -
Now we are nafs = combination of soul (ruh) + body (jasad) -
Allah might mention something in general and then mention something
specific - to stress the importance/special/specific ones

Jibril's assigned the task of delivering the revelation

Other tafsir says that Ar-Ruh refers to Jibril. -

and asking for Allah's forgiveness

50,000 years - it is for the disbelievers.

Surah Al-Mudatthir - When the horn will be born, indeed that day will be very

people as their gods.

disbelievers."

28. "My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all
the believing men and women. And to the Zalimun(polytheists, wrong-doers, and disbelievers,
etc.) grant You no increase but destruction!"
Default, dont make dua' against people, forgive and forget but in dire
situations, you are allowed only in dire situation.
-
For every prophet there is a dua' that is answered immediately by Allah. Some
prophets have made it against it against their people. But the prophet
muhammad sallahu alaihi wa salaam is saving his dua' for the day of judgement
-
He will make sujud under the throne of Allah, and Allah will teach me a new
dua' and Allah will said, "Seek intercession and it will be given to you"
-
That is why after the azan we make that dua, that the prophet muhammad
sallahu alaihi wa salaam will make intercession for us.
-
During the battle of Badr, the prophet Muhammad salllahu alaihi wa
salaam made dua' for one month - he made Qunut in every salat for a
month, against the people who killed 6 of the hafiz that were sent to
them to make da'wah.

Another evidence if the evil of the people is unbearable and widespread, you
can make dua' against your enemy.
-
Oh Allah, forgive my shortcomings, eventhough after achieving something,
coz he realized that everything is from Allah.

Humble yourself, even after you've done a good job.

After 950 years of hard work of da'wah, Prophet Nuh said, -

They left the prophet and they started beating the Abu Bakar until his whole
face was swollen and he passed out.
The tribe of Abu Bakar came and thought that Abu Bakr was dead. His mother

Prophet Sulaiman alaihi salaam.
1. Oh Allah, I want to be in control of the universe one day, so Allah said
to him, I'll give you one year to accumulate provisions.
So he had a large area to store provision
2. He spoke to the ant, how much food is enough for you? 2 grains of wheat.
After one year, the box was opened and he found the ant still alive and found
one grain of wheat left. Why is there one grain left? The ant answered that
before when I was living in open, in the abundance of Allah, I was not afraid
of Him forgetting me. But I was afraid that you would forget me when you
imprisoned me in the box, so I save half of my food.
Abu Hurairah radiallahu anhu
Hurairah - root word Herra = cat
Hurairah = small cat
Abdul Rahman bin..
Very soft hearted. -
Abu Hurairah was assigned to guard the zakatul fitr.
One night he found an old man stealing from the money. He said that he's
poor and he's has a family, so Abu Hurairah let him go coz he's soft
hearted.

He told the prophet and the prophet told him that the old man will come
again.

Abu Hurairah arrested him this time round and he gave the same reason.
Abu Hurairah was very soft hearted and let him go again.

He then told the prophet and the prophet said, and he will come again.
The 3rd night the man came again and Abu Hurairah caught him. The man
then said I will teach you something to protect yourself from the
shaitan. He said, recite Ayatul Kursi before you go to bed and you will
be protected.

He told the prophet, the prophet said, he's telling you the truth
eventhough he's a liar.

Every time the prophet sees him, he's surrounded by a lil cat. -
One day Ali and Fatimah had a disagreement. He then went to her father,
the prophet salllahu alaihi wa salaam to complain.

So he rested by the masjid to wait and his whole back was covered with
dust (thurab) - the Prophet found him sleeping on his back and told him,
Ya Abi Thurab, get up.

Knowledge of certainty
A statement coming from a trustworthy source
2. Ainul yakeen
When you see it
3. Haqqul yakeen
When you taste it
For the believers, they have certainty in the dunya.
The disbelievers, they only believe in things they can touch. On the day of
judgment, when they can see it, only then they will believe. But it'll be too
late then.
Surah sajdah 32:12

74. Surah Al-Muddathir (The One Enveloped)
Most important thing about da'wah- to teach about monotheism, love, about the
greatness of Allah
Everything becomes easy after -
The azan reminds us that Allah is greater than everything. -
A sahabah would be holding an axe and after hearing the azan, he immediately
dropped his axe and went for prayer.
Both says that if they were to continue, it would be saying that what
their doing is greater than Allah subahana wa ta'ala.
Another sahabah, was a blacksmith. After hearing the azan, he immediately
dropped his hammer.
The first ayah to be revealed the night after "read"
Iqra' - the symbol of knowledge
1. The first command in the Quran is to seek knowledge
Coz knowledge is light and it will lead you to Jannah. Ignorance is darkness. -
And then the revelation stopped for sometime -
The next surah to be revealed after is surah Muddathir. -
2. Second command - is stand up

3. Spread that knowledge, do da'wah

Strong character as a da'ee
Relationship with Allah, like Nuh alaihi as salaam.
Third command - you need to establish a relationship with Allah by doing
night prayers.

-
74|3|
74|4|

We must make sure that our clothes and our HEARTS must be cleansed, purify
them from dirt and shirk.
-
74|5|
And uncleanliness avoid.
Stay away from idols -
The prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam was protected from all of this. Even
before Islam, when he was 12years old, he had an opportunity to have fun but
fell as
-
74|6|

And do not confer favor to acquire more
6. And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience
as a favour to Allah).

La- present
Lan - past
Lam - future

- give something to get something more in return

Dont do something in return for something -
When you do someone a favor, dont keep reminding the person of what you did
for the person.
-
74|7|

7. And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)!
But for your Lord be patient
Once you start makind da'wah/practicing islam, people will make fun of you,
so

be patient
-
The prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam said -
"Islam started as a stranger, and at the end of time, it will become
something weird and strange again." The prophet made dua' for the strangers.
Fatimah used to say, Allahamdulillah, Allah has made men handsome by giving
them the beard and women their hair.
If you're going to submit to Allah, be patient. -
And patience is the key to this life and hereafter. -
Reminder of the Day of Judgement
Quraish was beseiging Madinah and it
was very cold, freezing cold.
The people of Makkah, Quraish was
large in numbers.
The muslims had a trench around
Madinah (khandak)
The prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam
said,
-
Who would go to the other camp and
hear what they are planning and he
would be in Jannah with me right
beside me (signalling with his hand)
-
He asked this 3 times and the 3rd
time his hand landed on Hudaifah
-
Hudaifah said, it was very cold, the
moment I walked towards the other
camp, I felt a special heating
system around me. I was so warm as I
was walking there.
-
The prophet told him to not do
anything but just gather
information.
-
As I arrived there, I saw Abu
Sufyan, the leader of Quraish, I
raised my arrow and was ready to
shoot. But I remembered the command
of the Prophet SAW to not do
anything. So I kept my arrow and
just joined the group.
-
Abu Sufyan, who was very smart,
looked around and told his people, I
want to talk to all of you. But
first I want everyone to introduce
themselves.
-
So when it came to Hudaifah, he
turned to the people around him and
got them to introduce themselves,
turning the attention towards
everyone else.
-
So Hudaifah stayed and received the
information he needed.
-
As he headed back towards the
muslim's camp, he started to feel
the cold again.
-
And then he shared with the prophet
SAW what he wanted to share and he
saw that Hudaifah was shivering
again.
-
He then took out his cloak and
covered Hudaifah.
-
He told Hudaifah to rest and sleep. -
Hudaifah was so tired and slept till
fajr time.

Reminder of the Day of Judgement
74|8|

And when the trumpet is blown

How can I enjoy life when I know that Israfel is looking to Allah when to
blow the horn?
-
74|9|

That Day will be a difficult day
- difficult
Opposite of "Yassir" - easy
So make sure u give a good name to your child.
Side not: The rights of a child, to be given a good name by the parents.
74|10|

For the disbelievers, it's not going to be easy

This means that for the believers, it'll be easier, insha'Allah -
Surah Anbiya 21:103
That great fear on the day of judgement, will not touch them (believers). And
the angels will receive them with glad tidings (good news)
Some other scholars says that there will be some difficulties, as seen in the
hadith where the muslims will run to anbiya to anbiya, begging for
intercession
Another opinion quotes that the sun will be a mile away from everyone so
there will be some difficulties for the muslims.
A thread for Whoever claims that the Qur'an is Magic
74|11|

11. Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin
Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)!
Al-Waleed Ibn Mughiraah (we spoke about him in Surah Al-Qalam, the qualities
and characteristics of the people of hellfire.)
I created alone or -
That person will be alone on hellfire. -
Leave me alone with that person

12. And then granted him resources in abundance.
Two great cities, Thaif() and Makkah (Waleed ibn Mugheerah,) these 2 people
where the wealthiest in their cities.
74|13|

And children present (with him)

- present
Opposite of "ghaib"
Allah has given him 13 children and all of them were living with him. -
74|14|

14. And made life smooth and comfortable for him!
And spread everything before him, easing his life
Allah gives to test, when He gives doesnt mean He's pleased -
Giving is test, denying is also a test. -
Gratitude when given, patience when denied.
The real life is in akhirah, insha'Allah
74|15|

Then he desires that I should add more

- tamak - greedy
74|16|

16. Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses,
lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
No! Indeed he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
Waleed Ibn Mugheerah was also a poet. So with the revelation of the Qur'an,
he should have been able to reflect and appreciate the Qur'an even more.
-
During the session of Hajj, the prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam used to take
advantage of this, and make da'wah to all the people that comes to Makkah.
However, Abu Lahab (father of the flame) (Abdul Uzza...) will be standing
close to the prophet and tell the people who he just gave da'wah to, that
he's crazy
-
The Quraish used to plot against the Muslims at Darul Nadwa and come up with
ways to shoot the Prophet SAW down.
-
They came with all sorts of things, that the prophet was . Lost
credibitlity, so Waleed Ibn Mugheerah was appointed to come up with one
reason - unite all the non muslims to come up with one ..

The prophet SAW came to him and told

reason - unite all the non muslims to come up with one ..
Waleed knew that the Quran was true, but denied it
74|17|

17. I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a
severe torment!
- mountain in Hell, for Waleed to climb. Never ending climb...
74|18|

Indeed, he thought and deliberated
18. Verily, he thought and plotted;

- started thinking
Waleed realized the Quran is true and right, but decided to deny it. -
74|19|

19. So let him be cursed! How he plotted!

- cursed/ destroyed / laknat

74|20|

20. And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted!

How Waleed was going back and forth, we can see his psychology towards the
whole issue. He knew that the Quran was the word of truth
-
74|21|

21. Then he thought;

74|22|

And he frowned and scowled

74|23|

23. Then he turned back and was proud;

- turning his back against the truth

1. Ignorance - if you dont know you will fall into this trap
2. Arrogance - some people will start to learn and they'll know but they'll
turn their backs anyways
3. Personal Insterest - Lose power, status, business, wealth
Waleed ibn Mugheerah was not ignorant, he turned his back out of arrogance
and personal interest.
-
Indeed me, once he's been -
74|24|

And said, "This is not but magic imitated (from others)"

74|25|

This is not but the word of a human being

These are the words of Muhammad, when previously he himself admitted that no
one can make words like this.
-
74|26|

And I will drive him into Saqar
74|27|

And what can make you know what is Saqar?
1000 years, lit till became blue
1000 years, lit till became white
000 years, lit till became black

The Number of guardians of hell and what the disbelievers said about this
74|30|

Over it are nineteen angels
74|31|

The Eternal Journey - Tafseer Juz Tabarak Page 42
31. And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number
(19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Qur'an is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e.
their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may
increase in Faith (as this Qur'an is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the
Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the
disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example ?" Thus Allah leads astray
whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He.
And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.

- as a test/trial
Abu Lahab, mocked how little in numbers are the angels in hell.
The prophet Sallahu alaihi wa salaam once described one of the angels
carrying the throne of Allah, his feet is on earth, with the throne extending
the 7 heavens.
The distance between his shoulders, 700 years of travel.
A teeth a disbeliever on the day of judgement will be size of the mountain of
Uhud
-
The chain that will be around the necks of the disbelievers will have rings.
One ring on that chain will be the size of all the mountains on earth.
-
The incident of Israa' and Mi'raaj, the first person he shared the news was
with Abu Jahal. Abu Jahal obviously did not believed it. Abu Jahal then
shared the news with Abu Bakar first. - Abu Bakar believed it instantly, coz
he's witnessed the prophet receiving revelations and has been the prophet
SAW's companion'
Abu Bakar As Saddiq, the best man after all prophets. The first man to embrace
Islam is Abu bakar. The first person to embrace islam -Khadeeja, a woman.

- as a test/trial
For the disbelievers. -

This will increase the certainty for the people of the book, coz its written
in the torah that the gate keepers of the hell, is 19,
-
In the Injil, it is also written that the keepers of hell is 19. -
74|32|

32. Nay, and by the moon,

Allah swears by the moon -
74|33|

And by the night when it departs

74|34|

And by the morning when it brightens
The prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam said,
Stay up after fajr, say the adhkaar until the sun rises and wait 10- 15
minutes after and then perform 2 rakaa', its the same as performing hajj and
umrah completely.
74|35|

35. Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad , or the Day of Resurrection) is but
one of the greatest calamities.

50. Then in what statement after this (the Qur'an) will they believe?
Cross reference to Ar-Rahman 55
"Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?"
Even if we spend the rest of our lives prostrating to Allah, we can never
repay Allah's blessing
A man who worshipped Allah for 500 years w/o disobeying him. The angels will
then come to him and told him, enter jannah due to Allah's mercy.
He then said, hold on, how about my deeds?
The angels then said, that the instructions from Allah is that you can enter
jannah only with His mercy.
So they took a scale:
His 500 years of worship VS one blessing (his eyesight) and his eyesight -
just one blessing of Allah, is waaaaaaaaay heavier than all his deeds.
Then Allah said, well, this is what you asked for. So here you go to hell
fire.
As he was walking to hell fire, he kept looking at Allah and Allah asked why
are you looking at Me?
The man then said, Oh Allah, I only thought highly of you. I didnt think
You'd throw me to hellfire.
The man was then placed in Jannah coz he only thought good of Allah.
75. Surah Al-Qiyamah (The Resurrection)

From Surah Yusuf
Nafs that command you to do evil. Always commands the person to do bad
2. An nafsil nawamah - like a roller coaster = up and down
Comes from blame
Commits a sin coz they feel weak at that point and after they do it, they
regret. Then remorse and thus make tawbah to Allah.
-
Their environment, friends, situations. -
And then they feel weak and then then commit sin again -
3. An nafs mutmah innah - from Surah Fajr -
75|2|

And I swear by the reproaching soul to the certainty of resurrection

When Allah takes an oath after an oath, something important is coming. -
75|3|

Does man think that We will not assemble his bones

Surah 36:
Do you think it is easier to create something out of nothing or to create
something that was already created before?
-
Allah is all Mighty and Able. -
A man was at hjis deathbed and instructed his children to destroy (burn and
crush) his body and throw half of it in the sea and half on air.
He ignorantly said that if Allah will be able to re-create me, He will punish
me in a way that is really...
Allah asked him, why did you do this? I was afraid of you.. Allah said, take
this man to Jannah our of fear because of Me.
75|4|

Yes. We are able even to proportion his fingertips.

75|13|

75|14|

Rather man, against himself will be a witness

There will come a man on the day of judgement, Allah will bring his record
and he will refuse it as he claims that I have no witness but me. So Allah
will allow him and then seals his mouth so every organ in his body, his hand,

The Eternal Journey - Tafseer Juz Tabarak Page 59
The Eternal Journey
JuzTabarak
Long Journey 11 Surah
We either finish them or finish them
18 June 2011
Al-Mulk
-talk about Allaahs
power, his kingdom
and his dominion
-called juzz tabarak
because of the first
surah/beginning of
the surah
tabarakAllaazibiyadi
hilmulk
-Juz 30 also called
JuzAmma because
surah an-NAba
started with
ammayatasa-alun

-Surah Muhammad:
because rasulullaah
was mentioned
-Surah Ibrahim
-Surah Nuh: Nuh was
mentioned
-Surah Hujurat: talks
about ppl who came
and calling
rasulullaah behind
the room
-one of the best way
to love and
memorize quran is
to know the stories
behind the surah

-Starts with
audhubillaah
-Then bismillaah
The meaning: Allah
is with us in
everything we do

-Starts with Allaahs kingdom and dominion, then the
creations, then our enemy the Shaythaan(among the
jinss and mankind), then the dwellers of the Fire, then
al-Muttaqqin and how they achieve that, then the
travellers,provisions(the bird), people of
Quraisy(nobody can give u victory if Allaah is not by
yourside), the beginning of the creation, Quraisy who
denied the Day of Judgement(the root of evil in the
world). Then, Allaah challenge the people of Quraisy
and ends with the importance of water(if Allaah were
to take away the H2o blessing, who is going to give it
to us?)

Virtues of the Surah
-Rasulullaah SAW has been reported to recite the
surah before going to bed.
-To remind us about Allaahs blessings to us
1.If we memorize the surah, act upon it, and apply it
in our life, it will become al-munjiy(protector) from
the punishment of the grave.
2. There is a surah in the Quran which contains 30
ayahs, syafaat it will intercede the person who
memorize the surah, act upon it and apply it.
- The Prophet sallahu alaihi wa salaam said that there
is a surah in the quran that contains 30 verses that
will intercede for the person that memorize that
surah until Allah forgive their sins.

Glorification of Allah

-Tabarak stems from verb yubaarik:
Meaning of yubaarik:
1.to bless
- it is Only Allaah who can bless anything and
everything for us
2. to increase or to make something grow
-barakAllaahufiki may Allaah increase the good
within you
3. to increase or to fix something(to make something
consistent within a person)
4. To exalt

The noun from yubarik is BARAKA
-if Allaah put barakah into something, it means Allah
increase the benefit in it
-investing in time = investing in your life
-wasting time = wasting your life
- Barakah is a concept among the Muslims.
-Some people mistakenly put the mushaf
-Take the class
seriously: revise our
intention. We are
coming here to
change our life and
reconnecting to the
Quran
-Learn
-Digest
-Act
the Knowledge
-and then share the
ilm with others!

Students ate
NasiLemak in the
morning!

NamasayaRedaBedei
r.SayaberasaldariKan
ada.Apakhabar?
Selamatpagi.

Terimakasihker-ana

this is not mala, this
is pagi

2 options:
-to be interactive or
interactive
-to enjoy the class or
to enjoy the class

-etiquettes:
Answer the sheikh
when he says
CLASS with YES
with the exact same
tone

-we dont want to
embarrass sleeping
students, we want to
enjoy sleeping with
them LOL

-dont give 15-min to
explain the Q when

Al-Mulk = dominion, control

-In whose HAND dominion :Allaah has hands, but not
the like of our hands. Dont think of Allaah like us!
Allaah proves to Himself whatever He says about
Himself
Daleel : [42:11]There is no one like unto Him.And He
is The One who Hear and Sees
Everything.(laisakamislihisyai)

Quran is to be studied using these tools:
1.Quran
2.Hadith
3.Sahabah
4. Language/poetry
az-zukhruf43:85: And Blessed is He to Whom belongs
the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all
that is between them and with Whom is the
knowledge of the Hour, and to Whom you will be
returned.
-Respect people for their humanity

-and Allaah says, waHuwa Alakulli syai in Qadir
- InshaAllaah =
-mean it when u say InshaAllaah : I am not in control
of anything, only if Allaah wills, it will be.
-Juha: Juha was going to the market and people
stopped him, and they asked, Juha, where are you
going? Juha said, to the market.
People: say InshaAllaah. Juha:why? I have lots of
money and there are lots of cow in the market.
So, he went and came back empty handed. People
asked what happened?Juha answered, my money
was stolen inshaAllaah.

-Rasulullaah forgot to say InshaAllaah one time and
the revelation stopped for two months.****

-only Allaah who is control of TIME
InshaAllaah, next month I will travel to visit my
cousin.
-NEXT MONTH:onlyAllaah who is control of TIMe
-I : Only Allaah who is in control of the soul
-Travel : only Allaah who is control
e.g: The Japan Tsunami, the volcanoe ashes, the
snow(in Canada)
- cousin: Allaah is in control

-They are trying to fool us: Mother nature: where is
father nature? Is he sleeping? LOL
u r asking question

-leliki dan wanita
-usually the brothers
claim they are
smarter than the
sisters

-stop eating nasi
lemak or else youll
have nightmare

- it was 90s and the
shaykh was trying to
get a taxi(many taxi
drivers refused to
stop because the
beard).Once in the
taxi, the shaykh was
trying to make
dakwah and saw a
copy of mushaf at
the back of the
taxi.When asked, the
driver answered, it
is for Baraka.Thes
yaikh said,
SUbhanallaah if we
practice the
contents of this
book. There was
music out loud, and
the taxi driver
started to lower the
volume(without the
sheikh saying
anything about it).
The sheikh asked,
How many times
are you reciting the
book? The driver
answered, crying, I
am illiterate. The
shaykh said, Dont
cry, do u have any
other tapes?. Then,
there was an old,
dusty tape. He put it
on.And after few
minutes, he stopped
it and the taxi driver

- Surah Buruuj 85:16 : He is The Only One who do
whatever He wants

Creation of Death, life, the heavens and the stars

Khalaka: creates out of nothing

Death is a creation.
Daleel: Hadeeth of Abu Saeed al-Khudri : on the day
of judgement, Allaah will command the people of
Jannah to go to Jannah and the people of Hellfire to
go to hellfire. And then, Allaah will hold Death in (the
form of ram). The ram/death will be slaughtered as
a symbol of the end of death. And the angel will call
to the people of jannah, O people of jannah, there
will be no death. You will be in Jannah for eternity.
There will be happiness like no other. And then to
the people of the hellfire, O people of
hellfire, eternity! there will be no death. They will
feel much remorse and regret that they have never
felt before.

Maryam 19:39: the Day of grieves and regret

Everyone will die
3:185 Kullu nafsin zaaiQat ul-maut
Al-kahf 18:50 and the agonies of death come with
the truth

La Haula Quwwata illa billaah: I can do nothing
without Allaah

Do we teach our children the purpose of Life?
How do you treat your spouse, neighbour,?

Allah creates Life

Life is the life of the heart, not the life of the body!
-we start our real life the moment we start
connecting to Allaah
-the likeness of those who remember Allaah and
those who dont are the like of those who are alive
and dead.

-It is amazing to know that only the love of Allaah
and Rasulullaah that will bring life to the heart
Al-Anfal [8:24] Oh you who believe! Answer Allah and
His messenger when he calls you to that which will
was crying. He said, I
will cry everytime I
hear about Allaah.

Shyakh:How much
do u make a day?
Taxi driver:20-30
pounds.
Shaykh:You can
make more. Youve
just made 114 000..
Taxi driver: pound?
Shaykh:no, it is much
better.
Shaykh: rasululllah
said whosoever
recites the Quran,
every letter will have
1 hasanah and
multipled 10 times.
Imagine that you put
the tape everyday in
your car.

-it is not the ink of
the mushaf that will
protect us.
- Most muslims now
is Muftis(Dont say I
think, say I believe
because Allaah has
commanded this and
that)
-it is only Allaah and
Rasulullaah that can
say Haram
-Joke: Most bro or
sis who have just
became religious,
the only say two
words with stern
face:Haram!,Bidah!

-Astaghfirullaah, u r
going to hellfire
inshaAllaah.

5 things to
remember when
doing dakwah:
give you life and know that Allah comes in between a
person and his heart. And verily to Him you shall be
gathered.

The life of the heart ya ayyuha allazina amanu
- yaayyuhallazinaamanu(89 times mentioned in the
Quran.)- talking to special people who chose with
their own free will to believe in Allaah and
Rasulullaah.
-feel so special when you read
yaayyuhanlazinaamanu. Feel proud that we are one
of them.
-Abdulllah ibn Masud said, listen carefully Allaah
will either warn against something or command
something good to you.
Yaayyuhannas : 20 times only addressing everyone

-Tears come when the heart comes to live

-Sometimes Allaah will put a barrier between a
person and his heart for heart is the king of the body.

-Surah Hajj [22:46]: Do they not travel through the
land so that their hearts (and mind) may thus learn
wisdom and their ears may thus learn to hear?
Truly it is not their eyes that are blind but their
hearts which are in their breasts.
-we know heart is in the chest but we dont exactly
know where it is in the chest (physical).

-We need to have a plan for THE REAL LIFE: dar al-
akhirah
2 Daleel:
1. Surah Hadeed 57:20 : Know that this life is only
play and amusement, you boast with one another,
and rival in respect of wealth and children. Like the
farmers who grows the vegetation And the life of
this world is only a deceiving enjoyment
-command: Ilamuu :STUDY!
- we compete each other and boast things off
-zina : adornment
-The degree?:Allaah is The One who gives you the
brain
- 3 PhDs? : you might stuck in bed unable to
move. What the PhDs will do for you?
-When the rain comes, the farmers like it when they
plant

-understand the meaning of life to take it the right
way and leave it the right way.

1.Mercy
2. Wisdom
3. Gentleness
4. Humbleness
5. Patience

Language is a life
being. It is affected
by other languages
and affecting other
languages

Wake Up Ummah:
Ask from the people
of knowledge!
Stop being mufti!

Abdullaah ibn Abbas
said, if you say La
adree, it constitutes
half of the
knowledge.

Upon hearing
questions, a sahabah
said: Do you want
us to be the bridge
over hellfire while
you walk on our
backs to Jannah, and
we fall into hellfire?.I
need to study your
question. Come back
again next time.

2. AlAnkabut [29:64] : And this worldly life is idle
and play Indeed the real life is the second life, the
home of the Hereafter
-dar al-aakhirah:the real life

Meaning of Life:
1- 18:7 Life is a test

-A Lady on the flight asked Dr Reda, Do you belive in
God? Is God good? Then, why is there evil on this
earth?

Forms of the test:
[2:155] And certainly, We shall test you with
something of fear (al-Khawfi), hunger (al-ju'), loss of
wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-
Sabiroon.

bi syai = some
Allaah just put a tiny spot of test only. It is just a
very very small scale

Rasulullaah SAW used to walk back and forth(in
worry) and make dua to Allaah to save him from the
evils of whats happening whenever he saw lightning
and thunder.

Allaah created us and gives us choices. But some
people abuse power when they get the power.

Allaah can also give tests through giving.

Test can be something good or bad.

When Allaah gives doesnt mean He is pleased, When
Allaah dont give doesnt mean He is not pleased.
Daleel: surah Fajar [89:15-16]

The QUALITY of the deed is more important than the
QUANTITY (Ahsaan VS akThar)

2 conditions for any deed to be good:
1. Sincerity of intention to do what we do only to
please Allaah (Say: "I am but a man like yourselves
(but) the inspiration has come to me that your
Allah is one Allah: whoever expects to meet his
Lord let him work righteousness and in the worship
of his Lord admit no one as partner." [18:110]

2. Ittiba-following the sunnah of Rasulullah SAW
(al-ahzaab) [33:21] Laqad kana lakum fi
rasululillaahi uswatun hasana. Ye have indeed in
the Apostle of Allah a beautiful pattern of (conduct)
for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final
Day and who engages much in the praise of Allah

Rasulullaah SAW said to Juwairiya(who has been
doing adhkaar for hours), do you want to know four
line of adhkar that will weigh more than the amount
of adhkar that you have been doing?

Subhanallaahi wabihamdika
Adadak halqik
Wa ridha nafsik
Wa zinata arsyik
Wa midada kalimatik
(as much ink is needed to write the words of Allaah
SWT-if the seas were to be used to be write the
words of Allaah, youll run out of them before you
finish)

wa huwa al-azizul-ghaffur
al-aziz: the All Mighty(The One who has ALL POWER)
al-ghaffur : most forgiving
-we sins on our way back, and Allaah is THE only ONE
who forgives.
-Allaah has the power to punish but He forgives
-Allaah created the whole universe to serve us, but
He created us to serve Allaah SWT.
-however people serving the means that Allaah has
created, e.g.: money.
-FOOL: Live to Eat
-WISE MAN: Eat to live

When any ayah ends with the attributes of Allaah, it
is meant and relevant to the meaning of the ayah. It
is not random.

Creation of the universe: [al-Mulk 67:3]
-Allaah created 7 heavens
-tibaaka-one above the other(plural)
tabak-floor/level(singular)

latarkabunnatabakan an tabak:in surah?

-ma(cannot) tara(see)
You dont see in the creation of the Merciful any
inconsistency.

-ar-Rahmaan: why is it used here?
-tafawuth :defect
-Hubuk
-only Allaah can create defect on the heaven on the
day of judgement.

-Rasulullaah SAWs feet used to crack standing in
solah enjoying the company of Allaah.
-Fatimah r.a used to say, how short is the night to
enjoy the company of Allaah?
(and we, today feel the night short for doing useless
things)

Then return (your) vision- twice

ghaasian: yaghsha to chase away with humiliation
-the Arabs are hospitable and generous. Usually they
have dogs as guards. The dogs usually will start
barking when they saw people coming. The Arab will
say Ighsaa!-go away you dogs!, this is my guest.

haasir: tired
hasrah: feeling of inability to change
something(regret)

Heavens
-as-samaa : the elevated
-WE : it is not the plural we, it is the ROYAL we.
- out of glory and majesty
-no one can claim that he has created the heavens
except AllaahTaala
-when Allaah talks about himself as the Ilah, He
always use singular I. MashaAllaah!
When talking to Musa: Indeed, I am Allaah. There is
No God But ME.So,worship ME, and establish the
regular prayer for remembering ME.

Dunya: samaa ad-dunya : the closest one to us
1.its end is very close.
2. This worthy life is worthless in front of Allaah

if this dunya worth as much as the weight of a
mosquitos wing, Allaah will not give the kaafir even a
sip of water.

Whosoever works hard for this dunya, Allaah will
reward him in this dunya. If he works hard for the
akhirah, Allaah SWT will reward him in the akhirah.
= a test is a sign of love from Allaah.

Soobih: misbahlantern(here it means stars)
-Allaah will send burning fire from the stars for the
shaythaan.

The devils used to go to the nearest heavens to ear-
dropped the conversations of the angels. Then, they
will go to the fortune tellers etc and fool people.
When Rasulullaah SAW came, the shaythan could not
do this again.

Allaah created the stars to do 3 functions:
1. Decorations of the nearest heaven [67:5]
2. Burning fire to the devils[67:5]

"And we have certainly beautified the nearest
heavens with stars and have made from them what is
thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the
punishment of the Blaze." (67:5)

3. Navigation[Nahl 16:16] And marks and
signposts; and by the stars (men) guide
themselves.

as-sair : one of the degree of hellfire
-punishment prepared for the devils(from both jinns
and human)

Al-jannah darajat, an-nar daraakat: there are levels in
jannah, and there are degrees in hellfire

Hells and Its Dwellers

-And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the
punishment of Hell.
[67:6] For those who reject their Lord (and
Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such)
destination.

Kafaru: Cover Kaafir: know the truth but conceal the
truth
57:20 farmer(kaafir):someone who covers the seeds
below the soil
(DONT translate words of the Quran literally, read it
in context)

matar=rain
Ghaith = lots of rain

Rabb : yurabbi : to raise and to educate
Rabb :
- to raise/educate
- master
- the One who creates out of nothing and He
provides for His creation

Rabba(tul) usrah: Lord of the family
- that family was not there before, and he started the
family
- husband is the breadwinner(supposedly)

Ilaah:worthy of worship
our shahadah starts with negation: La Ilaah
no god worthy of worship Except Allaah.

Allaah: from Ilaah. Al-Ilaah = Allaah (hamzah was
taken out and the two lams were put together)= The
only One true God worthy of worship.

-Imagine an employee came and punch in at 9 am
then went to work at the door next company. Then,
at 5pm, he punched out. At the end of the month, he
came asking for his paycheck. Do you think he
deserves it?

Uthman r.a used to say,If you have sound and life
heart, you will never feel satisfy with the words of
Allaah.

Allaah created human out of nothing, and He
provides for them.

Alhamdulillaah that the air is in the hand of Allaah,
otherwise we will die.
Nowadays, they charge for everything on the flight.
No complimentary refreshment anymore.

passive verb (iza ulkuu) : we need to focus on the
action, not the doer.
The kaafirun will be pushed into hellfire : this is a
humiliation.

[67:7]SHAHIQ(inhale) is opposite of Zaafir(exhale).
The hellfire will inhale the kaafir and boiled up.

Shaahiq: the kaafirun have been thrown into the
hellfire

[Furqaan 25:12] Zaafira (raging and roaring)
when the kaafirun is still far
so. No contradictory in the usage of shahiQ and
Zafira

[67:9-11]The conversation of the gatekeepers of the
hellfire and the dwellers of the hellfire:
-Angel:Did there not come to you a warner?
They will say, "Yes, a warner had come to us, but we
denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything.
You are not but great in error.'"

How many are the gatekeepers of hellfire?
Al-Mudathir[ 74:31]:19 angels(fixed number)
-they never smile since their creation
-The chief is : Maalik
[23:107]-the people ask Maalik to ask Allaah to make
them die, but Maalik say, No.

-Patience: gate to Jannah

Muminun [23:107-111]
"Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return
(to evil) then shall we be wrongdoers indeed!"

He will say: "Be ye driven into it (with ignominy)!
and speak ye not to Me!

A part of My servants there was who used to pray
`Our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us
and have mercy upon us: for Thou art the best of
those Who show mercy!'

"But ye treated them with ridicule so much so that
(ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while
ye were laughing at them!

"I have rewarded them this day for their patience
and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have
achieved Bliss..."[23:107-111]

-DO that regret now BEFORE you are pushed into the
hellfire. We still have the second chance now.

-good family and good names wont take us to
Jannah, but our good deeds will.

-sayyarah = trying to find the gate of jannah
-kazzabna: we say things and we dont do them
Who truly love Allah by his deed.

-our hearts have room for 11 loves
: proven by actions
Say: If it be that your fathers your sons your
brothers your mates or your kindred; the wealth
that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye
fear a decline; or the dwellings in which ye delight
are dearer to you than Allah or His apostle or the
striving in his cause; then wait until Allah brings
about His decision: and Allah guides not the
rebellious.[9:24]

Love 3 before 8:
-Allaah
-Rasulullaah SAW
-jihad fi sabilillaah

before
1- parents,
2- children
3-siblings
4- spouse
5-kindred
6 wealth
7-business/commerce
8-noble buildings(for dignity and comfort)

-I love Allah
-life is struggle to juggle between

- Yaghsyauna rabbahum bil ghaib

Yaghib and sahadah
Ataaamrullaah: the command of Allaah took place.
:
The dua of Rasulullaah SAW in the Quran:
Rabbi zidnii ilma: My lord, increase me in my
knowledge.

Reason(s) for revelation of [67:13] :-
A.
There were 2 people, 1 from Thaif and one from
Thaqi.
1:Do you think Allaah will hear us?
2:I dont know
1:Maybe if we talk in low voice He will not hear us?
so, ayah [67:13] was revealed.(saheeh Muslim)

And/or
B.
Abu Jahal was sitting in Dar an-Nadwah and they
made plots.(Jibril would come and hear them and tell
the plots to Rasulullaah). Once, Abu Jahal told the
gatherings to speak in low voice so the God of
Muhammad would never hear them.So [67:13] was
revealed.

-Abu Jahal name was Abu Ahkam before Islam. Then,
he refused Islam and the name of Abu Jahal stuck to
him until his death.

Al-latiful ghaabir:
al-laatiff: laatif(adj) either it is very2 tiny or very
gentle and nice

-Allaah knows the minute things that no one else can
see nor know.
Is there anyone who is gentler than Allaah?
He gives us chance after chance after chance?

Prophet Sulaiman once asked an ant,What do you
need for your provision for the whole year? The ant
said, I need two grapes. So, Prophet Sulaiman put
the ant and the grapes inside a box. A year later,
Prophet Sulaiman came and he opened the box. He
saw the ant and 1 grape left in the box. Sulaiman
asked the ant,Why is there a grape left? Youve said
you needed two. The ant answered, You have
imprisoned me in this box. I was worried that you
would forget about me, so I save the grape. When I
was free out there, I would never have to worry
about my provision since Allaah has never forgotten
about me.

Al-ghabir: Has the full knowledge of everything, the
past and the future, He knows the ins and outs of His
creations.

The reward of those who fear their Lord Unseen

Allahs favour of Subjugating the Earth to His
Servants[67:15]

-Allaah controls the waves in the sea and the tide
-Allaah subjugates the land to grow the plants
-Az-zalzalah 99 : the earth will be talking:
-every spots you have made sujood will testify for
you
-every spots you have backbiting will testify for you
-every spots for everything

Allaah is in control of everything

Leave me with me my creation. I have created them,
and I have mercy for them.
(Earth: let me engulf them
Sky: let me crush them
Sea: let me drown them)

wakuluu min rizqihi: rizq was used here instead of
what you have collected

Famshu fi manaakibiha : travel
- do your part! Dont just wait Allaah to provide for
you.

zilzalaha : the whole earth and everything within

O you who believe, Fear Allaah. What is your
provision for tomorrow (the hereafter)?.

Quality time with family:
66:6 O you who believe, save yourself and your
families from Hellfire.
-Allah didnt say save from hunger, cold, and poverty
-Rasulullaah lost his father even he was not born yet
-we have to make a balance in our lives.

How Can You Feel Secure From the Punishment of
Allaah While He Is Able to Seize You However He
Wills[67:16-18]

-Beware of the tribulations from Allaah for it can
come to anyone without making any difference.
-How can you feel secure if Allaah were to send a
storm from the heaven?
-Many nations before us denied the message and
belied the messengers.
People of Nuh : drowned
People of Ahl as-Sabt: cursed into monkeys
People of Aad:

The Flight of the Birds is by the power of Allaah

Yara: See think
Saffat : bird spreading its wings

If the aeroplane were to fold its wings, we will be
flying inside the plane.LOL

-When the bird spreads their wing, they will float.
Then, when they fold their wing, ar-Rahmaan hold it
on the air.

Why ar-Rahmaan?
-the ayah ends with Indeed Allah can see
everything.
-when the birds started flying up in the air, theyll
slowly disappear.
-Birds were chosen as an analogy here because Allah
took care of the birds both when they are on the
earth and during flying. The birds went out with
empty stomach in the morning, and came back full in
the evening. The birds FLY.
-if Allaah can see the birds which are very tiny,
remember that Allaah can see you wherever you
are!

No One Can Help You and No One Can Grat You
Sustenance, Except Allaah

ar-Rahmaan:

Victory-if Allaah by your side. If people trust their
weapon and number, they will be defeated.

Battle of Badar : 300 muslims. Allah is the one who
give you victory, and you are powerless.

Battle of Hunayn: one of the sahabah said, We will
never be defeated today because we are in greater
number. They were defeated at the beginning of the
battle.

Who else can provide for you?

Who is more guided: believer or disbeliever?
-those who walk with their faces on the earth will not
be able to see his way

-I left you with a very clear way, and this is my
straight way and follow it. There are misguided
ways, and if you take the misguided way, it will
guide you away.

Mahajja: in the dessert it is all yellow, but if people
always took that path, it will become white.

wAllaahu yalam wa antum la talamun

-A baby can distinguish the voice of its mother.
-Allah creates hearing even before we start using
them.
sabbih ismika rabbak

hearing >> seeing>>reasons: the order is not random

Do we thank Allaah for these blessings?

Dua after waking up from sleep: All praises to
Allaah SWT who have gave me my hearing and seeing
back, and the opportunity to remember You.

Gratitude: with the heart, tongue and the limbs.
Limbs: using all organs by pleasing Allaah.

Gratitude to Allaah:To use what Allaah has given you
to please Allah.

The kaafirun asked when The Day is coming?
The knowledge of the Day is only with Allaah.

The kafirin used to make dua(saala saailin) for the
day to come. When the day is finally come, their
faces will be in great distress.
a)
Tell them that this is the day they (the disbelievers)
were making dua'/asking for. Now face your day
b)
This the day that you use to claim that will never
happen, but here it is, it happened.

Ibraahim[14:15]: and those who are
stubborn(jabbaarunaniid)

But they sought victory and decision (there and
then) and frustration was the lot of every powerful
obstinate transgressor.[14:15]

araitum: reflect(with your mind).

If we are wrong, Allah will destroy us. But if we are
right, you will be destroyed.

Reminder of Allaahs Blessins by the Springing of
Water

Allah talks about water because it is the source of
life.
Every living thing comprises of water.
Al-Anbiyaa*21:30+ Do not the Unbelievers see that
the heavens and the earth were joined together
(as one unit of Creation) before We clove them
asunder? We made from water every living thing.
Will they not then believe?

During the time of the boycott, the muslims and the
Quraish made an agreement, and this agreement
was written and placed in the Ka'bah.
Allah destroyed paper but left the name
Boycott:
-nobody should marry them
-nobody should do business with them
-nobody should talk to them

The Muslims would eat leaves out of hunger.

7 years after Hijrah: Muslims were denied from
entering Mecca and performing umrah at
hudaibiyah.

Hudaibiyah Treaty. Suhayl ibn Amar told them to
write bismik allaahum
instead of bismillaah irrahmaan ir Rahim.

Wisdom of Rasulullaah SAW during the treaty

ar-Rahmaan was repeated because the Quraisy used
to deny the name of Allaah as ar-Rahmaan.

What did Umar do during the Hudaibiyah treaty?
Q&A1 What is the difference between a Muslim and a
believer?-hadeeth of Jibril: Muslim is the first level
where a person say shahadah, establish solah, fast,
pay zakat and go to hajj
-second level is a believer(mukmin) who believes in
the unseen: Allaah, angels, the books, prophets,
qadhawaqadr and the Last day.

Q: Why Allah mentions death first and then life in
30:2?
A:before we were created, there were nothing=death

Q: to what extent do we have control on ourselves?
A: [18:29] the only things we have control are to
believe or not to believe
Allah will hold us accountable only for making choice
to belief or not. Other than that, we will not be held
accountable for them i.e nationality, parents, etc

Q:
A: Dont think of Allaah like His creation
[42:11]There is no one like unto Him.And He is The
One who Hear and Sees
[Shad 38:71-72+ Behold thy Lord said to the
angels: "I am about to create man from clay. "

When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and
breathed into him of My spirit fall ye down in
obeisance unto him."

Q: [50:36] Surah Qaff:halmimmazeed? Allah knows
the number of people going to hell?
A: Questions in the form of statement. Allaah knows
the exact number.

Q: If death is a creation, how about life?
A: Life is breathed into human. At 120 days of
-
pregnancy. At that time 4 things were written:
1- Ajaluhu ; his death
2- Rizquhu : his provision
3- Amaluhu:
4- Jodoh

Nafs/self = jasad + ruh

the ilm of Allah is not tied with the time dimension.

If you want to put your trust, put it to the hand of
The Living who Never Dies(Everlasting)
55:27: Kullu man alaihafaan: every living will come
to an end.no one will left until the hayy.

Ibnu Qoiyim: there is a void in the heart that can
never be filled except with the remembrance of
Allaah.
-when the tears come down, it is a sign Allaah has
accepted from you
-Indeed, the results of their sins caused a layer of
blackness on their hearts

-Allaah does not listen to the tongue, but the heart
-Allah looks into your hearts and your deed.
-Naba : torture

Q:Can we smile during solah
A: Yes, it does not invalidate the solah. However,
laughing out loud invalidates the solah.

The Eternal Journey
Sunday 1
19. June 2011
Q&A:
-16:125
-choose the right time,
the right word, the right
way
-InshaAllaah:
-without saying this, we
deny that Allaah SWT is
in control.
-Evil eye:
when Jaafar was killed in
the field of mutah.
Rasulullaah SAW went to
visit Jaafar's children and
they were shrunken like
chicken. They were hit by
the evil eye and
Rasulullahah SAW told
the guardian to do
ruQyah on them.
Ruqyah syariah has 4
conditions:
-words of Allaah and
Rasulullaah
-in Arabic
-by righteous people
-the person who is doing
the ruQyah is allowed to
receive
compensation/gifts.

Surah al-Fatihah can be
used as a ruQyah.
[Qalam:68]:-scar on the
nose is specific for
Waleed ibn Mughirah.

The revelation stopped for two weeks:
- The people of Banu Israel who lived during the time of
Rasulullaah SAW went to the mushrikeen and asked them
questions: IF you want to verify if Muhammad is a true
prophet, go to him and ask him what do you know about
the people of the cave, and what about the man who toured
the world from the east to the west?
Rasulullaah SAW said, I will give you the answer
tomorrow.
He forgot to say InshaAllaah. When the mushrikeen came
the next day, there was no answer. It was like that until 2
weeks. Then, surah al-Kahf was revealed. In it were the
story of the people of the cave, Dzulqarnain, and also an
ayah to remind Rasulullaah SAW to say InshaAllaah.

The Lady in the flight: why is there evil on this world if
God is good?
1. We need to know the meaning of life. Life here is not a
true life, so dont cry over this life.
2:30 Dialogue between Allaah and the angels
Khalifa : khalafa = the opposite of salaf
yakhluf: to come after
Salaf : you are the salaf of your father(your khalaf) =
generation that comes after the generation of your father

Our obligations:
-to know Allaah
-to submit to Him
-trust/amanah:to believe or not to believe
When Allah created Adam, the angels
asked Allah, "Why would you create
somebody who would create bloodshed on
earth when we glorify You?"Do angels know
the future? 3 explanations:
1-It might be because the angels have witnessed the stages
of the creation of Adam, so they expected what will happen
2- or it is because the angels have witnessed the creation of
the Jinn before, and theJinn also received the same amanah
like us:to believe or not. The angels witnessed the evils
GEMs:

Khalifa doesnt
mean representing
Allah on earth
Be careful of the shirk
which happens within
your heart.

Hellfire:
Was burn for 1000 years
until it was red, another
1k years until it became
white, and another 1k
years until it became
black.
The grave is either a
garden or a bitter fire.

going astray
3-There might be a generation like human that has been
created before human.
Are the angels going against Allaah?
-NO, they were just making comments
-angels do not have free wills

-Allaah has told the human that if they were to obey Allaah,
their status will be higher than the angels
-Allaah created Adam and honoured him with knowledge.
-When Allaah told the angels to tell Him the name of the
things, they didnt know. So, Allaah told Adam to teach the
angels.
CONCLUSSION:
-Allaah SWT knows best
-He has purpose behind everything He created.
-Allaah created Adam with knowledge and He give us free
will.
[18:29] The truth comes from your Lord, it is up to you to
believe and it is up to you to disbelieve
- the evils that are happening are because of human-they did
it-abused the free will/freedom/power that Allaah has given
them
GEM: If we were to ask Allaah to stop evils, that means
we are asking Allaah to take away the free will.

Story:
A man claimed he has no free will, and he was doomed to
hellfire

An old man slapped the man in the face, and later took him
to the bbq and told the man to jump in. The man refused
and the old man pointed out that that man still has his free
will to say no.
Who is who?
Question:
Identify any names or categories of people addressed in the
surah and state the lessons learnt from the verses

[67: 13]:
1.Abu Jahal
2.Ignorant men from Thaif and Thaqi
Reasons for revelation
There is a story behind the revelation
of some verses in the surah of the
Qu'ran. Following I an example in
suratul Mulk. Study the suras of
Juz'Tabarak and identify those stories
or reasons behing the revelation of such
verses.

Swearing By the Pen

Syntax:structure of the sentence
There's a syntax inversion in this ayah -the syntax to make it
y y y
easier to understand the sentence.
Allah can simply put 'You are not a madman.' However,
Allah put By the favor of your Lord in between to stress
Allah's favor on Rasulullaah SAW.

You are not, By the favor of your Lord, a madman[68:2]

Al-wahy():the revelation
Forms of revelation:
-initially: revelation came as dreams
-Jibrill would come in a form of a man
-Al-Jars: Jibril came invisibily, and the sahabah will hear the
sound of ringing bell. Rasulullaah will be sweating, cold, and
almost unconscious of his surrounding, and felt as if his thigh
was going to break.
-When the wahy came in the form of al-Jars, the people will
call him mad. So, Allaah revealed this ayah to deny that.
Allah told Rasulullaah to be patient and the reward will

and ask for forgiveness for their sins,- and who can forgive
sins except Allah.- and are never obstinate in persisting
knowingly in (the wrong) they have done.

Loyalty :
Rasululllah was humiliated in Thaif and rejected and hurt.
Zaid Ibn Harith was trying to hold Rasulullaah SAW and his
body received stones. While blood running down to his feet,
Rasulullaah SAW asked Allaah to be pleased with him.
Allaah sent Jibrill with the angels of the mountains offering to
crush the people of Thaif. However, Rasulullaah refused
and prayed that one day the descendants of Thaif will
become believers.
When Rasulullaah SAW went back to Mecca, the
mushrikeen denied Rasulullaah SAW admission. He was
seeking for protection, one after another until finally Mutah
Ibn Adhi, a mushrik finally agreed to protect him.
After Badar, 70 mushikeen were taken prisoners.
Rasulullaah said, if Mutah Ibn Adhi were to intercede for
these people, I will give them all to him.(at that time, Mutah
Ibn Adhi was already passed away).

3 young men had a garden. Their father was a pious and
righteous man.The father would give a portion of their
harvest from the garden as zakat to the needy and the poor.
When the father died, the 3 young men inherited the garden.
They became greedy and refused to give zakah. They made

Question:
How about people who live in isolation and Islam never
reached them?
-[3:19] The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to
His Will): Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom
except through envy of each other, after knowledge had
come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is
swift in calling to account.
Allaah will never punish people without sending them
a messenger
Everyone was born a Muslim-with fitrah. It

Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish
when he called out while he was distressed.

: faSbir : Be patient
: Sohibul hut: Yunus-companion of the whale.
Story of Yunus:
Prophet Yunus was engulfed within 3 layers of darkness:
1. The belly of the whale
2. The night
3. The sea
Du'a when we are in distress:
Yunus made du'a to Allaah:

...none has the right to be worshipped but You (O
Allh)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all
that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have
been of the wrong-doers." [Al-Anbiya 21:87]
: distressed

[68:49] If not that a favor from his Lord overtook

him, he would have been thrown onto the naked
shore while he was censured.
[68:50] And his Lord chose him and made hime of
the righteous.
The Effect of the Evil Eye is
Real
[68:51] And indeed, those who disbelieve would
almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear
the message, and they say, Indeed, he is mad.
- The prophet SAW used to walk in front of people
of Makah, they had evil eyes and almost made
Rasulullaah SAW slip.
[68:51]:evidence of the evil eye
-Read [al-Falaq, Surah 113] and ask for Allaah's
protection
-Read the Qur'an all the time and be in good
companions to soften our hearts.
The Accusation of the
Disbelievers, and the Reply to
Them
[68:52] But it is not except a reminder to the
worlds.

[69:4] Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.
- Prophet Salleh was sent to the people of Thamud.
- Prophet Hud was sent to the people of 'Aad
[69:5] So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the
overpowering [blast].
-Saaleh: Thamud
They belied, denied, didnt believe and they(Thamud) were
destroyed by overpowering blast and they were dead.
[69:6] Ans as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by screaming,
violent wind.
[69:7] Which Allah imposed upon them for seven night and
eight days in succession, so you would see the people
therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm tress.

Hud : Aad

[69:9] And there came Pharaoh and those before him and

[69:10] And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord,
so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].
: Rabi ah: elevation
: ASau = They disobeyed
But why Rasul- - (singular) not RUSUL(plural)?
-because all of the messengers came with one message.
[Ali-imran,3 :19] The Religion before Allah is Islam ...

The messengers are brothers, their religion is one(Islam),
but their syari'ah are different. The best syariah is the
syari'ah of Rasulullaah SAW.
It is easier now. i.e:
-during the time of Musa, if impurities touch your clothing, it
has to be cut out or the cloth to be burned
- kill yourself if you want to make taubah
[2:54]And remember Moses said to his people: "O my
people! Ye have indeed wronged yourselves by your
worship of the calf: So turn (in repentance) to your Maker,
and slay yourselves (the wrong-doers); that will be better
for you in the sight of your Maker." Then He turned
towards you (in forgiveness): For He is Oft- Returning,
Most Merciful.
Blessings of the Ship
[69:11] Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried
your ancestors in the sailing ship.
[69:12] That We might make it for you a reminder [that] a
conscious ear would be conscious of it.
-When Allah carried the people of Nuh who are Muslims,
they are our khalaf(ancestors), and we are their
Salaf(descendants). It is like Allaah was carrying us too.
-This is a reminder to believers.
A mention of the Horrors of the
Day of Judgement

[69:13] Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
[69:14] And the earth and the mountains are lifted and
leveled with one blow
[69:15] Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur
-When we are all in the grave, Jibril will be called to sound
the horn.
-mountains will be raised and leveled with the earth.
[69:16] And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is
firm
[69:17] And the angels are at its edges. And they will bear
the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of
them].
-The sky will be split opened, and the angels who are
above them will be at their edges
-there will be 8 of them carrying the throne of Allaah.

Chidren of Adam being presented
Before Allaah
[69:18] That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgment]; not
hidden among yoy is anything concealed.
-Nothing will be hidden from Allah.
-Everyone will be naked.
Aisha' Radiallahu anha asked the prophet, will men and
women be looking at each other? The prophet replied that
they will be too afraid and will be in fear to think about
anything else.
-None of their deeds will be concealed.
The Happiness of the Person Who
Will Receive His Book In His Right
Hand and His Good Situation

- There will be only two types of people:
1-people who receive their records on their right hands.
2-people who receive their records on their left hands.
The Quran is the Speech of Allaah
Taala
[69:38-43]
So I swear by what you see, And what you do not see.
[That] Indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble messenger.
And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe. Nor
the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember. [It is] a
revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
If the Prophet Forged Anything
Against Allaah, The Allaah Would
Have Punished Him[69:44-52]
[69:46] Then We would have cut from him the aorta

-Aorta : if it is cut, it will cause instant death
-Rasulullaah SAW never lie.
- If Rasulullaah ever wanted to delete anything from the
Qur'an, he would have done so on surah A'basa and the
adoption rules[33:4]:
Th h t f d d t d
- : The prophet frowned and turned away
[80:1].
-Abdullah ibn Maktub was a blind man. -After the
revelation of this surah, Rasulullaah SAW honoured him so
much, everytime Abdullaah ibn Maktub came, Rasulullaah
SAW would clean the place with his own garment and
offered his own seat. When Rasulullaah went out of
Madina, he would asked Abdullaah ibn Maktub to become
the imam.
Yaqin is of 3 degrees:
1- : ilm ul-yaqin[102:5]
2- : ain ul-yaqin[102:7]
3- : haqqul yaqin [69:51]
[69:52] So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
-when this ayah was revealed, Rasulullaah SAW instructed
the Muslims to recite 'Subhanaka rabbi al-azim' during ruku
-we cannot bow to other than Allaah.
-sujood: complete humility and subjugation to Allah. We are
the lowest of the low and Allaah is the highest of the high.
Stories:
1.
Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqas sent Rabiah Ibn 'Aamir radhiAllaahu
'anhuma to meet with Rustum the Persian leader. The door
of the palace of the Persians was made very low so that
people would bow down to the rulers when they were
entering the palace. Upon seeing this, Rabiah turned his
back when entering the palace. Then he pierced his sword
into the expensive Persian carpets. Rustum asked, who are
you? Rabiah Ibn 'Amir said Allaah Azza wa jal has sent us
to deliver you from worshiping the creation to worshiping
the Creator of the creation and to deliver you from the
constriction of this world to the vastness of this world and
the after life and from the oppression of the religions to the
justice of Islam. Allaah Azza wa jal has sent us to save you
from worshiping each others.
We are people sent by Allaah to help people from
hi i l t hi i G d A d t t th
worshipping people to worshipping God. And to get the
people out from the hardship.
2.
Before Umar radhiAllaahu anhu became a Muslim, he
wanted to go and kill Rasulullah SAW.
-4 stages of Umar before embracing Islam:
1-A woman was migrating to Medina(during the night)
and Umar saw her. Umar asked her, where are you
going? She answered, leaving your country. Umar said,
let me escort you to the outskirt of Mecca. Once the
woman made it to Madinah, he told her husband,Umar
was there and he might accept Islam. The husband said,
Umar?? Even his donkey embraced Islam, Umar will never
accepted Islam.
That woman touched Umar and made Umar started
thinking, What a deen that gives the woman such strength
and motivation?
2. Umar's maid was a Muslim. He used to beat the maid
and enjoyed that. He would be beating the maid until he got
tired and stopped. And he would began again, but the maid
kept on holding to Islam.
3. In Makah, the people lived the idle life and they would
frequent the liquor shops. Umar was one of them until one
day he got bored. However, every time he went to Kaaba,
he felt at ease. One day, he went to the Kaaba and he saw
someone was praying. Umar came closer to the Kaaba and
found it was Rasulullaah SAW reciting the Quran. Umar
stepped on his toes while listening to Rasulullaah. It made
Umar thinking, what it is this Quran?. His mind said,
These are the words of a poet. Then, Rasulullah recited
this is not the words of a poet[69:41-43]. Umar was
surprised at the coincidence.
Umar was almost there(embracing Islam), but he went back
home.
He refused to believe and decided to kill Rasulullaah SAW
thinking that Rasulullaah was dividing between families. He
put poison on his sword and went out to kill Rasulullaah.
On his way, a sahabah who had embraced Islam but
concealed it sawUmar and asked Umar where he was
concealed it saw Umar and asked Umar where he was
going in that furious state. Umar told him that he was going
to kill Rasulullaah. The sahabah was shocked and told
Umar that Umar need to check his family first as his own
sister had embraced Islam. Umar was very angry and
changed his direction towards his sister, Fatima bint
Khattab's house.(Her husband- Said Ibn Zaid). There,
Umar heard his sister reciting Qur'an.
