On Thursday, May 8, the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundaton celebrated 38 Distnguished Academic Scholars and their
selected honored staf members with a dessert recepton at the Gull Lake Country Club. Distnguished Academic Scholars are Gull
Lake Seniors who have earned a 3.9 grade point average or higher during their high school career.

GLCS Foundaton Trustees, Tim Clancy and Karen Koets, introduced each scholar and the scholars were then given an opportunity
to speak about the staf member they chose as most infuental. Sarah Sandell, GLCS Foundaton Chair, and the GLCS
Superintendent, Chris Rundle, also ofered words of praise and encouragement to the students.
Let Me Run
Takes Of at Ryan!

Thanks to a mult-year grant from
the GLCS Foundaton and support
from the Gull Lake Rotary Club
and the Hetnga Family, fourth-
and ffh-grade boys at Ryan
Intermediate are beneftng from
the Let Me Run program, a seven-
week program which culminates with a 5K road race. The mission of the program
is to inspire boys through the power of running to be courageous enough to be
themselves, to build healthy relatonships, and to live an actve lifestyle. Parents,
Mandy Damico and Tanja Fagan, brought this program to Gull Lake. Serving 28
boys and in its fourth week, Let Me Run is already making a diference. This past
week, we ran a mock 5K with the Girls on the Run groups. The runners who had
crossed the fnish line frst were running back to run with and encourage those
stll running the racethey didnt stop untl every boy and girl had fnished. It
was really inspiring, said Fagan.
