    To Whom It May Concern: I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Miss Sarah Ewald, whom I have known for nearly eight years. Sarah was a student of mine when I was an Assistant Principal at MacArthur High School. She was the President of the National Honor Society, which I advised, and was an indispensable asset to me during those years. This year, she has been student teaching in math and special education at Division Avenue High School, where I am the Principal. If I had a teaching position available to offer her, there would be no need for this letter. Sarah is knowledgeable in the common core curriculum, plans diversified and student-centered lessons, includes a variety of assessments during each class period, and challenges students with highly cognitive questions and discussions. She maintains a positive outlook and a charming personality. She is well dressed, articulate and always prepared. She has established a respectful rapport with her students, and always greets them by name and with a smile. Her willingness to take suggestions, modify lessons, and experiment with new strategies demonstrates her motivation and reflection about teaching and learning. Sarah communicates effectively, and has many fine personal and professional qualities typically attributed to veteran teachers. She carries out her responsibilities as a student teacher in a responsible and dependable manner, provides extra help in the mornings, and participates in after-school activities and events. Along with her command of the subject area and her repertoire of teaching strategies, Sarah demonstrates the highest potential for effective teaching.
