Travel information

Based on my research on various websites and books, I determined that the following cities were the most popular ones and best cities visited by tourists: Madrid Barcelona Sevilla San Sebastin Bilbao Valencia Crdoba Santiago de Compostela Salamanca Toledo Mallorca

However, given the relatively short length of my visit (3 weeks), I had to pick among those 11 cities. My choice was based on the following factors (important factors when I visit a place): #1: Culture #2: Historical monuments and sites #3: Gastronomy Ease of getting accommodation in a given place, and available means for traveling from one place to another

I read in many places that it is cheapest to get a flight to Madrid, and most international flights arrive there. From there it is easy to get around by train (RENFE), bus, or other flight (Iberia Airlines, Air Europa, Spanair, Rumba, and Air Nostrum all offer domestic flight).

So finally, my choice of cities were Madrid, Toledo, Valencia, Granada, Sevilla, Crdoba and la Alberca (a location where I applied for an English immersion volunteering program). Based on the estimated travel times within a cities and between cities (thank you Google maps!), as well as recommended times to visit the city, and the sites I chose to visit, I came up with the schedule that follows see next page.
