GENERAL

87

The passenger compartment control unit replaces the passenger compartment connection unit. This control unit brings together a large number of the small computers and relays into one single unit. This unit is located in the dashboard, on the drivers side on the fuse mounting.

1. UCH Part number: 77 03 297 929 controls: the direction indicators and hazard warning lights, the windscreen and rear screen wipers and washers, the engine immobiliser, the heated rear screen and rear view mirrors (depending on equipment), the drivers electric window, the locking and unlocking of opening elements, the courtesy lights, the tell tale light for the opening elements. 2. UCH Part number : 77 03 297 930 also controls the following in addition to those controlled by the previous version: the heated electric windscreen, the headlight washers. As a replacement part, only part number 77 03 297 930 is available.
IMPORTANT: when replacing the UCH, the func-

tions corresponding to the vehicles equipment level will have to be configured using the XR25,
NXR or OPTIMA. IMPORTANT: it will not be possible to start the ve-

15454S

hicle until the engine immobiliser programming procedure has been carried out.

The XR25, NXR or OPTIMA can be used to carry out fault finding on the unit (fault finding fiche n 64). In production, there are two UCH models which can be fitted to vehicles, depending on their equipment level. They can be identified by their part numbers which can be read on the unit or by a fault finding tool (XR25, NXR or OPTIMA).

WIRING Door locking remote control

GENERAL

88

REPLACING, REALLOCATING OR ADDING ONE OR MORE KEY HEADS

Vehicles with the passenger compartment control unit (UCH) can be equipped with door locking remote controls (PLIPs) with a rolling code. When replacing or adding a remote control (PLIP), it will be necessary to carry out a key reallocation procedure and if necessary a resynchronisation procedure in order for the PLIP to be in line with the UCH. This remote control is only used for locking and unlocking the opening elements (it has no effect on the engine immobiliser).

In the event that a key is added or lost, you will need to order an insert using the number of the key. Only keys presented during this operation will be functional, on condition that: - they have already been coded for this vehicle, - they are new (uncoded).

Procedure using the XR25

XR25 connected (code D45 fiche n 64 side 2/2).

Special notes on this new system This system can function with a maximum of four remote controls (the UCH can only manage four different rolling codes). The radio frequency signal receiver is integrated in the UCH.

1.

Check that the UCH is correctly coded. Bargraph 16 RH side should be extinguished.
IMPORTANT: the maximum time period bet-

ween carrying out each operation is three minutes, otherwise the procedure is cancelled (returns to the original configuration). 2. With the ignition switched off, enter the secret after sales code (eight figures) as indicated below: - enter G41*, "?" is shown on the display, - enter the first three figures and validate with *, "?" is shown on the display, - enter the next two figures and validate with *, "?" is shown on the display, - enter the last three figures and validate with *, "LEC" is shown on the display, - the code appears on the display in three sequences, then "?" is shown on the display : If the code shown on the display is correct, validate with *, Pro and bon are shown on the display, bargraph 17 left hand side illuminates (the engine immobiliser tell-tale light extinguishes). If the code shown on the display is not correct, enter "G" and restart the procedure for entering the code.

The central door locking button is inhibited when the doors are locked using the remote control. Door locking using the remote control is indicated by two flashes of the hazard warning lights (if all the doors are correctly closed). If one or more doors are incorrectly closed, the hazard warning lights remain extinguished when locking using the remote control. Unlocking of the doors is indicated by one flash of the hazard warning lights. If the doors are unlocked, but none of them are opened within the following 30 seconds, the system automatically relocks the opening elements of the vehicle (the hazard warning lights will not flash).

Enter #58 followed by the number of keys to be allocated in the procedure below: Switch on the ignition using one of the key to be allocated: - if the key is accepted, bargraph 16 left hand side illuminates, the red tell-tale light flashes rapidly and the display shows "1" (#58), - if the key is not accepted, bargraph 16 left hand side does not illuminate (#58 = 0). In this case, restart the procedure or use another key.
