    Call for Proposals on Research and Development on Biofuels The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) invites research proposals from Researchers engaged in Universities / Research Institutes / research organisations in industries, both in private and Government sectors, in the area of production of bio-oils and their up-gradation. The proposal should include pyrolysis units with a capacity of at least 10 kg feedstock per hour and should include studies on generation of bio-oils and their up gradation for various applications. The scope of work for the proposals is given below: Production of stabilized Bio-oil with high calorific value (at least 25 MJ/kg), including through catalytic pyrolysis, for various applications; Up-gradation of stabilized bio-oil to automotive fuel through Catalytic conversion route; Scale-up and field demonstration of biomass based decentralized Pyrolysis systems for production of upgraded bio-oil. Use of bio-oil as part replacement of furnace oil

    The pyrolysis unit should be able to handle agricultural biomass (including dedicated energy crops) and agro-industrial wastes/residues and woody biomass. The proposal should contain methodology for pyrolysis and use of bio-oil, its analysis and possible method for its upgradation. Agricultural wastes having known competing uses for applications such as animal fodder should not be considered. The applicant(s) for each proposal must have at least two publications in peer reviewed journals or one patent application related to the subject of the proposal. Format for submission of proposals is given on MNREs web site www.mnre.gov.in The research proposal (in ten copies along with a soft copy) should be submitted within 30 days of the publication of this advertisement to: Director (Biofuels), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Block 14, CGO Complex, New Delhi 110003.
