Beat sugar, egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until it stands in peaks. Fold in bananas; add nuts. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 or 30 min. Let cool. Serve topped with whipped cream; sprinkle with chopped nuts. Yield: 6 servinecs.

Wash chicken and dry thoroughly on paper towel. Melt ^ tbsp. butter and 2 tbsp. oil Brown chicken, use tongs to in skillet. When turn; as they brown remove to plate. all chicken is browed, add shallots to Pour off all but a small pan and cook. amount of grease and return chicken to skillet. Season with salt & pepe^-^. Lay Cook bay leaves on top and cover pan. slowly and baste often. Melt 2 tbsp. butter in small pan; add lemon juice. Add artichoke hearts and toss in lemon-butter until glissening. Wash chicken, pat dry, brown ham lightly in butter in a heavy roasting pan. Stir in garlic and onions. Saute 5 min, or until soft. Add chicken^ and shrimp.

Stir in celery and rice, making sure all rice is covered with liquid. Simmer 30 mins. longer or until chicken and rice are tender - remove bay leaf - stir in parsley.
