Cafeteria Rules & Information


You are encouraged to bring your lunch this week, lines are longer than normal. Students need to place their backpack on their seat BEFORE they get into a lunch line.
DO NOT touch any other students belongings once they are on the seat.

School Store is sometimes open during lunch, but usually before school. It is located in the courtyard by the gym. No running or skipping to the lunch lines. Absolutely No Food is allowed outside.

Electronic Devices
May only be used during the following times
At Lunch (must be put away prior to leaving patio) After School (upon exiting the building) In the classrooms with teacher permission (Educational use only)
Failure to comply will result in confiscation and will only be returned to your parent or guardian.

School-Wide Procedures
When entering the classroom, students will:
Enter the room without any horse play before the tardy bell. Get required materials and place backpacks in the teacher designated area. Begin working on Opening Activity.

To find out what the daily assignments are, students will:
Be responsible for knowing how to find missed assignments in teacher designated location.

School-Wide Procedures
With regard to classroom materials, students will:
Come prepared to school daily with all required materials, including pens, pencils and paper. Seek assistance from counselor if they are unable to purchase supplies.

School-Wide Procedures
At the end of class, students will:
Continue working until the teacher begins end of class procedures. Students should understand that the teacher dismisses class, not the bell. Leave the room in an orderly manner based on classroom dismissal procedures.

School-Wide Procedures
Regarding the restrooms, students will:
Adhere to the freeze time schedule (no student movement in the hall during the first or last 10 minutes of class) Students will not disrupt class or instructor to ask permission to use bathroom (Cross fingers). Follow established sign out procedure for classroom and use restroom pass when leaving room.

5th Period

School-Wide Procedures
When tardy to class, students will:
Provide excused note to teacher if available. Quickly and quietly sit down and begin working on assignment. Be aware of the Milwee Tardy Policy and the consequences for tardy behavior.

Tardy Policy
Each 9 weeks:
1st tardy- Warning/conference with student 2nd tardy- 1day lunch detention and phone call home 3rd tardy- 3 days lunch detention and phone call home 4th tardy- Wednesday school and phone call home 5th tardy- Discipline referral and phone call home.

*We will be conducting regular tardy sweeps throughout the school year.

In the cafeteria (on the stage) with a Dean.

After school. Meet in the Cafeteria.

Club Detentions- Explain


During Club Time. Meet in the Cafeteria.

Lunch Detention Procedure


Students should immediately report to the stage once they enter the cafeteria to serve their detention. *Do NOT get your lunch first. Students will be directed to a chair to place their belongings, and then be required to sign in to the detention log. Upon signing their log, students will be directed to sit in their seats on the stage until excused by the administrator to get their lunch. Student expectations while serving detention: No Talking Must remain facing forward towards curtain May not leave seat without approval of administrator on the stage. Are to use the stairs to enter and exit the stage area. *Failure to follow these expectations will result in further consequences.

CONFERENCES WITH GUIDANCE COUNSELORS


Students may request a conference with their guidance counselor (other than schedule changes):
Go to the front office and sign in with the guidance secretary. If your guidance counselor is not available, you must return to class and the counselor will call for you. If your situation requires immediate attention, please let the guidance secretary know.

7th Period

Milwee Middle School Mission Statement


The mission of Milwee Middle School is to foster rigorous, relevant, and inquiry-based learning that provides wholly educated individuals who are encouraged to reach their academic, artistic, social and physical potential by creating partnerships with regional industry and government, coupled with the efforts of outstanding faculty and staff.

Media Center
Media Center hours are from 8:40 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. During lunches, students are allowed to use the media center ONLY with a teachers pass or an honor card. Teachers will ONLY write you a media pass during your class period. You are not allowed to interrupt another class to get to the media center! Media center will be closed on testing days.

Textbooks
Textbooks may be issued for academic and some elective classes next week for take home use.

Lost or Damaged books


You will be required to pay a fine.
You will not be able to participate or attend school functions such as school dances until you locate the book or pay the fine. Failure to pay any school fines could negatively impact HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION!

Field Trips
Field trips are often planned to complement our instructional program. School rules apply during field trips, and proper behavior and dress are expected.

Students who consistently exhibit uncooperative or unsafe behavior may be denied the privilege of attending a field trip.
Students choosing to not attend a field trip are required to attend school as usual. Proper permission slip forms must be completed and signed by parents/guardians and returned to the teacher by deadline date.

Dismissal Procedures
Bus riders must immediately report to the bus ramp. Check the bus board to see where your bus is located on the bus ramp. Bus locations will also be displayed on classroom TVs at 3:45 daily (2:45 on Wednesdays).

Car riders are to go to the front of the school in front of bldg. 9. DO NOT hang out by the Media Center. Walkers are to exit from the closest gate in front of the administration building. DO NOT linger at the car or bus ramp.
Students will earn a discipline referral for being in an unauthorized area if they violate dismissal rules.
