STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
My purpose for embarking on a career as an ELA teacher rests on two foundational concepts: guiding students into acquiring tools that shape, nuance, and communicate their voices in a world where so often their voices are denied. And steering their critical thinking skills, so that they can make informed choices as they transition from young students to adults adults who will eventually shape and shift the world.
