Theresas Childrens Project Twist Valley, Kwazulu-Natal

The aim of St. Theresas

To get the children away from the streets. To provide two nutritious meals for them a day. To give them a safe environment away from their home. To give basic education such as reading and mathematics.
ALSO

To provide sponsorship for the children who graduate to go to school.

The Children St. Theresas sponsored last year. The total cost for 13 children was R24,500 which is the equivalent to 1750. But to these children, its priceless.

Who they help

They are there to help vulnerable children from Twist Valley and Shayamoya. Vulnerable refers to children who are at risk of malnutrition, abuse and neglect. Twist Valley has a culture of alcohol and drug abuse, domestic violence and unemployment. There is also a very high rate of HIV and AIDS. The average child ends up being cared for by a relative due to their parents inability to care for them.

Why they need your help

Based in an old tennis pavilion, there is room for 20 children, there are currently 39 and the number keeps increasing. They rely purely on donations from people like us. They have made it their aim to give these children a better chance at a bright future. The SA government have recently declassified them, along with 30,000 others as a charity despite being a non-profit organisation aimed at helping vulnerable children.

A vision for the future

All these children have stories like Tianna and Clinton, and they all need your help to escape the vicious cycle of drink, teen pregnancy and abuse. Please give whatever you can to give these children a chance of a brighter future
