Dear MSA-6 Family, Spring break is here! I love spring break because it is literally a time of growth and rebirth. It is a great time to renew your energy to help your child have a great end of the school year. Weve accomplished great things in our lovely campus since September 2012. Have your child show you some work from September and compare it with the work now. Praise your child for the successes and encourage the next set of goals for the final term of the school year. Our students did a great job at the Science fair, AR program and we expect them to continue this trend and do well in our future events such as the History fair, CST tests, MAP tests, and their finals. Magnolia Science Academy-6 is preparing future citizens to be successful. We have a fantastic staff that strives to provide the best education possible for all our students. We are very proud of our students and staff. We also greatly appreciate all the support of the parents and families of our students. I would like to thank our students for taking the school survey. We value our students ideas and feedback. Our administration team already started to analyze the survey results. I am confident we can make our school an even better place for our students to learn and grow. After Spring Break we also would like to hear from our parents. Please remember that there is no school on April 1st due to Cesar E. Chavez day and school will resume on Tuesday, April 2nd. Please use spring break to relax and get ready to finish the rest of the semester. Enjoy your spring break and remember we can only achieve great success by working together. Best wishes, John Terzi MSA-6 Principal

Hello MSA-6! Spring break is finally here and I will be off to Turkey for our annual international trip. Next year, if you can, please join us on this wonderful experience that is exclusive to Magnolia Science Academy students. Spring break is not all fun and games though. You should use this week to catch up on any assignment that you are still able to turn in, or to just study and refresh your memory on things that you may have forgotten or unsure about. Remember that even though it is a break for others, it can be a time of opportunity as well. Take this time to get ahead of your classmates and use it wisely. Of course this doesnt meant to study all the time! You all need to play as well too. I hope that you are learning to spend your time correctly as you get older and wiser. Remember, this is your life, make the best use of your time and you will become a successful person in life. Have a great spring break and I will see you next month! Best Wishes, John Terzi

Tigers! I would like to remind you that the end is near, but not here just yet. Keep your grades up by doing your work, don't goof off in class, listen to the teachers, and show respect to everyone, always! It is a good habit to develop and it will get you far in life, I promise. Come and see me, with this article, and let me know how far you have gotten. For spring break, make sure you have lots of fun, but don't let your brain rot by not studying at all. Take some time to keep your mind sharp. Don't ever let it become dull. So spend an hour or two doing some math problems, reviewing science, and write a short story that you can be proud of. As for me, I will be spending this spring break with my daughter teaching her to walk and reading to her. Enjoy your spring break and be safe! Choe

Hello, MSA6 Family, March has arrived and spring has to be just around the corner and so is California Standardize Testing (CST) and finals. I am happy that it is March and spring is almost here. I am looking forward to experience warmer weather and I know that our students and teacher are looking forward for this time. During this time, it is important that you continue reading and reviewing your notes so that you can remember what you have learned throughout the academic school year. Having a study group is another way to learn and practice concept that were introduced to you during class. This strategy would allow you to learn from your peers and extend your knowledge about different subject areas. It is recommended to review the notes and concepts which were covered during first semester and quiz yourself about key terms that were covered in class. As for your science teacher, I would like to spend more time with family and friends and celebrate the New Year (First day of spring). I also would be attending Los Angeles County Science Fair event in the beginning of the spring break. I am very happy and proud of our students this year for their great science projects and wish them the best of luck during this competition. Stay happy, live healthy and learn something new every day Tigers. Best Regards, Ms. Babaie
Hello Tigers, Now I know that it may be very tempting to think that the end of the school is very close so it's time to relax --but it's not. Now is the time to improve your study skills and pay extra attention since finals are almost here. The time will pass very quickly; so make sure that you are keeping up on all of your homework assignments and raising those grades so you can have a final report card that really shows what you are capable of. Eighth graders: Make sure to be practicing good classroom behavior even more so that most of those bad habits are gone by the time you start high school. I hope that everyone has a safe and fun spring break. I will likely be spending my break relaxing with my husband, visiting with friends, and hopefully catching up on a few movies and books. -Mrs. Bray Ms. Bray History Teacher

Hola MSA 6-Tigers! The end of the semester is fast approaching. The end of the school year will be here before you know it. Keeping up your grades is very important. Some ways to keep your grades up include: -Taking notes- draw pictures to help you understand vocabulary or concepts whenever possible -Pay attention in class -Study for tests-make flashcards and study with a friend -When you do not understand a concept or need extra help ask your teacher - Dont procrastinate, give yourself sufficient time to work on projects and homework so you wont feel overwhelmed -Turn in your homework/assignments on time In my Spanish class, students are working on their research project for the Spanish Fair. The Spanish Fair is on April 12. Thank you for all your hard work. Enjoy your spring break and have fun. Practice your Spanish and review vocabulary. As for me I will be spending my spring break, reading and taking my two sons and daughter to soccer tournaments. Best wishes, Mrs. Heman Spanish Teacher
Hi everyone! We're in the last few months of school, but remember we still have a lot of work to do. We have CSTs and finals to conquer before we can really celebrate. For my Pre Algebra and Geometry classes, make sure you stay on task in and out of class, take good notes, and use resources if you need them at home. If you have the internet you can look up Khan Academy, or use You Tube to find videos on the topic you need extra practice in. Also, there is the usual tutoring clubs after schools. Anyways, I hope you all have a great spring break. Have some fun, because when we get back it's crunch time. I'll be working on lesson plans and thinking of ways to prepare you all for the future tests, and then visit friends in San Francisco. Have a great spring break! Ms. Kim

Hello MSA-6 Family! I can't believe there are only 3 more months of school left!! I have a few reminders for art class before we wrap up this year: 1. Make sure to turn in all your assignments. Remember there are no test or homework, so each project will effect your grade. 2. Ten sketches are due the week after spring break; therefore, make sure to have your sketchbook ready to turn in. 3. Enjoy the class time and use it wisely. I hope Art will be an enjoyable class for everyone, so please always put your best effort into your work. This spring break I plan to do a lot of spring cleaning. I hope to clean out many things I do not use anymore and donate them to our school's good will drive. I also plan to spend time with my family and see some old friends. I hope you will all have a good rest of the year and please enjoy your spring break! Miss Lim
Hey Tigers! We still have two whole months to work hard and learn lots of things! Keep your grades up by staying on top of your homework and doing well on your quizzes and tests. If you have questions, ASK ASK ASK. In class, in tutoring, during lunch... ask! Also, it's never too late to improve those organizational skills. If you take good notes, you will have an awesome resource to help you through assignments and prepare you for tests! After all the hard work you'll be putting in, spring break will be a nice little vacation from school. Relax, take it easy... but also keep your mind active! Finish any work your teachers give you, and spend a little time on Khan Academy every day. As for myself, I'll be in China! I've never been and I'm super excited to see the sights. See you all in April!

Hello MSA 6 Tigers, I just wanted to give you some tips on what you can do to finish the semester off strong. First, read and follow directions before you start any assignment. If you are unsure of anything please ask the teacher. Second, make sure you turn in assignments neatly and on time. Third, if you are absent make sure you get your assignments from your teacher and that you turn them in a timely manner. All of this may seem obvious but a lot of students lose points because they forget do some or all of these things. During my spring break I plan on catching up on sleep, grading, and lesson planning. My dog has not been going on as many walks lately so I plan on taking him on some very long walks. I also plan on going on a mini road trip with friends. I hope everyone has a great break and comes back ready to work! Ms. Villela
