With osmotic Fluid pressure replacement constant both therapy inside and outside the cells, the fluid in each compartment remains within its compartment and cell neither shrink or swell. Because isotonic solutions have the same concentration of solutes as plasma, it does not move into the cell. Rather it remains within the ECF compartment and is distributed between intravascular and interstitial spaces, this increasing the intravascular volume.
