Delicate Print Nails for the #31DC2018Weekly

Hi lovelies,

I have a simple little stamping mani to share with you today for the delicate print prompt of the #31DC2018Weekly.  I tend to be drawn to stamping plates with delicate floral or abstract images.  They stamp well and you don't have to be very precise with them.  You get a fly manicure every time!

Animal Print Nails for the #31DC2018Weekly

Hey there!

I am officially caught up with the challenge now!  Today, I have my animal print nails for you.  Mine aren't exactly an animal print but they do have bits of real animals on them.  I used some real feathers from the craft store on my nails in a fun little brown skittlette mani for the prompt.  Let's take a look!

Striped Nails for the #31DC2018Weekly

Hello!

I am almost caught up!  Today, I have my striped nails to share with you for Week 12 of my weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.  I chose of calming colors and a little image of a succulent for this mani.  I have been obsessed with succulents over the past few years.  I am a brown thumb but my mother can make any plant thrive.  So, for Mother's Day this month, I got her a few succulents to start her rock garden off right.  Hopefully, I can watch her grow these beauties now!  My manicure today combines regular stamping with a little reverse stamping.  I think it all ties in well together!

Violet Nails for the #31DC2018Weekly

Hey there!

For the sixth prompt of my weekly version of the 31 Day Nail art Challenge, we are doing purple nails!  I buy a lot of purple polish but I feel like I don't actually wear it that often.  I need to change that because purple nails are gorgeous!  For this week, I used one my of favorite Zoya Pixie Dust polishes and stamped over it.  I am always shocked at how detailed stamping looks over a textured polish.  You would think it would look bumpy and the image would not be crisp.  But it almost always looks perfect!  My stamping is a little more subtle in this look but I hope you like it. :)

Inspired by the Supernatural for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hey there!

I am so sorry I got behind on the challenge this year.  I thought I would be good and finish up the last few challenge prompts before I left for Europe.  But I didn't.  I might be able to sneak in the last few when I am visiting Lotte next week though!  Here is my look for the Supernatural prompt.  I took my inspiration from Celtic Druid runes.  There is all sorts of mystical and magical stories and lore surrounding the Druids.  They are referenced throughout literature and have made their way into our gaming culture, too.  One of my favorite book series is The Iron Druid Chronicles but Kevin Hearne and my favorite class to play in World of Warcraft is a Druid.

Inspired by a Flag for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi all!!

I am officially caught up with the #31DC2017Weekly now!  Tomorrow's post will be right on track.  Last year, for the inspired by a flag prompt, I did a flag for Iceland right before I went on vacation there.  I am going to do the same thing this year.  Next week, I am heading to Europe for a vacation.  I am starting off in Copenhagen for a conference then then meeting my German polish sister, Lotte, in Germany!  Yay!!!  I can't wait to meet my little international polish pen pal that has become a true friend. :)  So I am inspired by the German flag today.  My nail are not a direct representation of the actual German flag but I was inspired by the colors of the flag: black, red and yellow.

Inspired by a Pattern for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi all!

I hope all my fellow Floridians are weathering this storm well.  It's a doozy!  I have another look for you all as I try to quickly catch up with the #31DC2017Weekly.  I did some plaid nails!  I love stamping now I know why I stay away from straight lined designs.  They are difficult to line up correctly.  Especially if you can't get a clear jelly stamper to work for you.  Some of these are a little but I don't think it is noticeable much in real life.

Inspired by a Book for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hello!

I am still trying to catch up on the challenge.  Kudos to everyone that has been keep up this entire time!  My partner, Lotte, has kept on track and I am envious.  For the Inspired by a Book prompt, I have done my worst nail art yet.  Be prepared for nail fail in this post.  I tried several attempts at creating a look inspired by the book "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood which all ended in disaster.  So I ended up going very simple and my look is not impressive at all.  But hey...I got them done and that's what counts.

Inspired by a Movie for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hello!

I am still trying to catch up with the challenge.  I am determined to finish on time :)  For this prompt, we are doing manicures inspired by a movie.  Last year, I did a Disney movie and it seems that I have been inspired once again by a Disney movie.  Peter Pan is a classic.  Who doesn't want to be a kid forever?  My manicure today was specifically inspired by  the scene where Peter Pan takes the Darling children to Neverland.  As they are flying over London, he give directions to this magical place.  "Second star to the right, then straight on til morning."  As a lover of space, I always felt a connection to those directions.

Celestial Cosmetics and Color4Nails Stamping polishes

Hey there!

Celestial Cosmetics has teamed up with Color4Nails to create a line of stamping polishes.  They have already released a set of creme shades and now have come out with a few holographic options.  I have the 5 new holographic shades to share with you today.  I will be showing you each color stamped over a light and dark base as well at the stamping polish used on it's own.  Overall, there polishes stamped well but you have to be selective on what color based to use them over.  They all showed up nicely over light bases but were iffy over the darker bases.  These new holo shades released on Friday, so let's get into the colors!

Galaxy Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi there!

Well...I am a little late with challenge this week.  I should be showing you watermarble nails today but instead I have my galaxy nails from last week!  Oops.  But I will get caught up this week, I promise.  Galaxy nails are great.  They look complicated but are actually very easy to create.  It is difficult to mess them up.  Each year I say that I am going to do pastel galaxy nails for the challenge and each year I just end up doing traditional galaxy nails.  Well...this year I actually did some pastel galaxy nails!  They aren't as mesmerizing as traditional galaxy nails, in my opinion, but they are fun to look at nonetheless.

Glitter Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi folks!

I have a quick little purple skittlette manicure to share with you all today.  I combined some textures and glitter placement for this look.  It is quite simple but still gives a cool effect once it is all put together.  I think a lot of ladies use glitter placement for this prompt in the challenge.  I know I usually do!

Geometric Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hello!

It is the 16th week of the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.  This week's prompt is geometric nail designs.  I am always a fan of this prompt because I find geometric patterns very appealing.  Straight lines and right angles are always pleasing.  I had a lot of different ideas in my head for a nail art look and most of them involved tiny basic shape outlines.  Take a look at my hand drawn geometric shape nails!

Flower Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hello friends!

This week, we are all going floral nails for the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.  I decided it was time to do more advanced stamping and made some cute flower decals.  For this skittlette mani, I used all Zoya polishes again.  Most of them I had not tried before and I really enjoyed all of the shimmer.

Animal Print Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hey!

The animal print prompt of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge is always fun.  There are the classic prints like leopard, cheetah and zebras that get used a lot in nail art in general.  I am always excited to see what other animals people are inspired by.  I have done turtles and snakes and giraffes for the challenge previously.  This year, I went with a simple fish design.  The clown fish is so fun.  They have great little attitudes and have a bold design.  My nail art is quite simple, but hopefully, you will see the clown fish right away.  Plus...who doesn't love Finding Nemo?

Striped Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hey hey!

I am back on schedule with another challenge mani for you.  This week, for the #31DC2017Weekly, we are doing striped nails.  For some crazy reason, I decided to hand paint stripes.  That is usually a bad idea because they are never perfectly straight or perfectly spaced apart.  But I had this idea in my head and just went for it.  Overall, I am pleased with the results.

Metallic Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi there!

I finally got chrome powders to work well for me!  They are the perfect nail art item to use for the metallic prompt of the challenge.  I tried using the chrome powders before but I didn't have the right top coat for the job.  You can see my fails here.   This time, I used some gold chrome powder and gel top coat from Born Pretty Store.  The key to my success this time around was using the powder over a gel layer and then topping it off with a no-rub gel layer.  It turned out great.

Black and White Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Happy Easter!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend (for those of your who celebrate).  For this week of the challenge, we are doing black and white nails.  I know, my nails are not just black and white.  But I through a little pop of color would be nice.  Neon pink always goes well with black and white.  So I used it for a double accent nail in this manicure.

Violet Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Howdy!

We are 6 weeks into the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge and so far I have been using a Zoya nail polish every week in my manicures.  I hope you are seeing some Zoya polish that you like because tomorrow starts their annual Earth Day sale which you can get all polishes for 50% off.  For my purple nails this week, I used a shifty Zoya as my base and some water slide decals from Born Pretty Store.  Let's take a look!

Blue Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi all!

Like I promised, here are my blue nails for the 5th week of the challenge.  I'm back on track!  I am going to call this design a little bit of a fail.  They look descent from a distance but not that fly up close.  I tried my hand at some free hand paint blog dragging (like all the fancy Russian nail artists do) and they did not turn out fantastic.  But hey...sometimes you just need to try new things and if they don't work out, at least you tried.  Right?
