A fun way to grow orchids and an UPDATE! I might’ve forgotten to water as often as I should’ve but I have hope for a comeback. Orchid are epiphytes. They grow on top of other plants and are not anchored in the soil. Epiphytes take up their nutrients from water, air, and debris around them. Living in Indiana, fall and winter temperatures get less than 50 degrees consistently which would prevent us from being able to anchor orchids or other plants to trees so this will just have to do. Here’s how to make it : -Layer a chunky mix of perlite, soil and into a clean pickle jar, or other glass vessel. -Mist the soil. -Add begonia leaves, ensuring the bottom of the leaf is in full contact with soil mix. Nodes are not required, begonias can propagate from leaves alone. -Cover and place in a bright spot and wait for the magic✨ #begonia #propagation #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantdiy #begoniaterrarium #leafpropagation #tendermomentswithplants

Spring Flowers You could ever grow!
Presprouting is simple: Soak your corms for 4-6 hours and then lay them in a row with the ‘tentacles’ down in trays with potting soil. Cover with another thin layer of soil and keep them in a 60-65 degree space until you see a few leaves on each plant. It generally takes 2 weeks. Once you see leaves, transplant them into your beds app. 6 inches apart. You can either set up low tunnels over them (you’ll get longer stems), or just leave them in the open air… but make sure you cover with a frost cloth if your temperatures drop below 26 degrees. . . . . #ranunculus #springflowers #urbanfarming #flowers #gardenlove #cottagecore #gardening #growyourown #cutflowers #flowerfarmer
