This method is by @three.acre.farm.mi which includes a vole/rodent proof add on to the @notillflowers method. Both ladies have wonderful blog posts with more detailed information, but this is the gist of why/how:  During a snowy stretch of winter a couple seasons ago I had an entire low tunnel of ranunculus decimated within days by VOLES! These are teeny sneaky rodents that love to eat bulbs/corms/tubers and are experts at hiding from natural predators when they have snow cover hiding them.   In the seasons since I’ve built these temporary raised beds with a layer of hardware wire on the bottom and top! If I can do it, so can you! 🙌 This isn’t rocket science. 🚀 Comment “pro” for links to the ranunculus supplies I use!)⁣ ⁣ 🌸Start presprouting your ranunculus corms 8-10 weeks before your last frost date. My frost date is April 15th so my ideal time to start is the first of February. I started mine a bit early to show you so you can get to your corms and supplies in time!⁣ ⁣ 🌸Ranunculus corms need temps to be cool while they are presprouting so store in an unheated garage or shed. Maybe 50-60 degrees⁣ ⁣ 🌸Soil shouldn’t dry out on your ranunculus corms but don’t water the soil. You don’t want the corms to rot. Just spritz the soil with a water sprayer.
