Lesson 2 Peter Preaches on the Day of Pentecost craft. I precut shapes and premade the channel on the back. The children enjoyed sticking the apostles to the front, drawing in their faces, arms & legs, drawing the rushing mighty wind on the cardboard strip, sticking the blue paper behind to create the channel for the blue strip of card and then sticking the tongues of fire above each head to be revealed when sliding the strip of card. On Pentecost we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. These tongue of fire hats connect to the Bible story in Acts 2.

Tissue paper campfire

Pentecost, The Holy Spirit Descended like a Dove. Cut out on cardstock, doves, decorated by the Sunday School, with handwritten scriptural verses by the adults, attached to helium balloons (red), symbolic of the tongues of fire that were on each of the believers. These are waiting in the narthex entryway on Pentecost Sunday, and after the service, one is taken by each member, and released outside, symbolic of the releasing of the Holy Spirit in our own lives.
