Kelly Welk on Instagram: "It’s TRUE…don’t tell the peonies we figured out how to get them to bloom all summer long. I’ve even heard some grandmas. Tell me they have saved their peony blooms in their fridge until thanksgiving! I have never been able to wait that long, but I have successfully held them in the fridge for several months.

Here’s how you do it :
- Cut the peony blossom when the bloom head feels like a marshmallow, the petals are just barely starting to open and it’s a little bit squishy
- Take off all of the foliage so that it’s only the stem with the bloom head
- Wrap in a damp paper, towel or newspaper
- then slide that wrapped up into a couple plastic bags from your produce
