This project originally started as a texture background for the paint in my bathroom walls. Eventually I grew to just LOVE the vintage brown look that it gave the little room. We moved from the house that originally hosted this project so I thought I would share my technique this second time around. I call it the brown paper bag effect. First you will need: rolls of brown paper bag material, wallpaper glue, a tray to dip your pieces in, gloves, a old sponge and a squeegie tool to even out…

Rip bags into useable pieces , attach with wallpaper paste, let dry all the way, Brush or sponge on polyurethane till paper looks wet let dry gives a great faux leather look. It can also be done on table tops, furniure leggs or even picture frames I have done and they are beautiful. You can use polyurethane colored glazes for some effects of color if you choose.
