Sharesies is a wealth development platform with the purpose of creating financial empowerment for everyone. One of the ways that they do this is by providing access to educational content, including Learn articles, financial news podcast called Recap, and Shared Lunch, a weekly webinar interviewing experts and CEOs.

Sorted is New Zealand’s trusted personal finance site. It has introductory guides to shares and bonds. It’s investor kickstarter tool is useful to understand what investment strategy that best suits you. Sorted is owned by the Commission for Financial Capability, a government funded, independent agency.

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is the New Zealand government agency responsible for enforcing securities, financial reporting and company law as they apply to financial services and securities markets. FMA’s website has useful information about investment options including shares and bonds. The FMA also created a vairiety of resources, which can be read here.

Investopedia offers timely, trusted and actionable financial information for every investor, from early investors to financial advisors to high net worth individuals. It has useful information about shares, bonds and derivatives. Investopedia is operated by IAC Publishing.

New Zealand Shareholders Association (NZSA) holds introductory courses on investing in the sharemarket. They also have introductory investment videos on their website.

Mary Holm

Mary Holm is an award-winning columnist. Her website provides jargon-free information about share trading and other investment options. Mary is a director of Financial Services Complaints and is a former FMA Board member.

Banqer brings financial education to the classroom. It is a financial education platform to teach children about money.

Sharechat is an online destination where New Zealand investors can share information and news on shares. Sharechat also has introductory guides to share trading and understanding whether it is right for you.

Invested is an investor education series with a good overview of key investment options. It was created by NZX and the Commission for Financial Capability.

ANZ offers a range of financial capability resources, including its MoneyMinded website. ANZ also publishes surveys of adult financial wellbeing and financial literacy.

ASB Securities has great introductory information about share trading and Exchange Traded Funds. ASB Securities is a part of ASB.

Craigs IP has ebooks and videos on investing and share trading. Craigs IP is one of New Zealand’s largest investment advisory firms.

Forsyth Barr have a free guide which gives a good overview of investing and whether it is right for you. Forsyth Barr provides professional investment advice and services.

New Zealand Bankers Association (NZBA) has an introductory guide to derivatives. NZBA is a voice for the banking industry.
