Estonia’s first amigurumi studio is opening its doors!!!
Yes, it’s true. Honestly, I can hardly believe it myself! :)
Come visit! Telliskivi 57, Tallinn.
Although the idea of a cute handmade toy shop has been on my mind for years, everything from making the decision to bringing it to life has happened in just a few short weeks. A true “thought, done” style.
What is the Amigurumi Studio all about?
In my dreams, it’s a cozy amigurumi haven that brings together toys, their makers, and their buyers.
The studio-shop is run by me, Mari-Liis, who has been promoting Estonian amigurumi culture for 16 years under the name lilleliis. I’ve designed toys, written patterns, and inspired crocheters.
For lovers of handmade and design
In the shop, I hope to offer the largest and most beautiful selection of crocheted toys in Estonia. In addition to my own handmade creations, the studio will also feature works by other dedicated crocheters.
In collaboration with photographer Annika Metsla, we’ve created a brand-new series of Fine Art postcards and wall prints for children’s rooms, showcasing crocheted toy animals and dolls.
For crocheters and craft enthusiasts
The Amigurumi Studio is also a destination for crafters and crocheters, as a large portion of the shop space will be dedicated to yarns and all the essentials for crocheting toys—stuffing, safety eyes, rattle inserts, crochet hooks, wooden rings for rattles, doll buttons, blush for cheeks, and much more.
But that’s not all! The studio will host the Amigurumists Club, a friendly group of passionate amigurumi makers who will meet regularly to crochet together, drink tea, and discuss endless crochet topics.
Starting next year, we’ll also offer amigurumi courses for beginners who want to get acquainted with this technique.
To me, this place already feels quite cozy and nest-like. But it can only truly succeed if you think so too. So come visit, really. And if you like it, tell your friends about the amazing place you discovered :)
See you soon!
