Well, this is one damn mess he got himself into. On one side is Roger critiquing the war for homicide, when on the other hand Eric's previous statures, well, leaves him in a questionable position.

Love him, but it seems to me, he definitely needed somebody to bounce back or give him a little direction. The best stuff he ever did was in collaboration with other crazy talented people. Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, George Harrison, Duane Allman. His solo stuff for the most part lacks the edge of Cream and Derek. It's mellow and enjoyable at best. At worst, it can be really lame.
