Needle Felt Gardening Mouse

This little beauty was made as a gift for my Mams Birthday in June, both my mam and Dad are and were avid gardeners, my Dad grew all of our vegetables in an allotment so when he wasn't at work he could be found working in the garden.
I knew a felted mouse would delight my Mam.

I wasn't wrong, she loves him.

I had so much fun making the miniatures to feature with the mouse and even found a dolls house miniature newspaper that I could print and make up.

The delight of watching this felted creation build up and all the pain of some finger stabs was worth every hour it took when I saw the joy it gave to my Mam

Isn't it fabulous. I'm proud of this one.

From his flat cap to his waistcoat I loved making him.

Wolf Needle Felting Finished Piece

Hours and hours of work goes into needle felting pieces and lots and lots of stabbing of fingers, this wolf is exactly that.
Iiiii've shown a little bit of the building of him in my previous posts but he needed a pelt to finish him.

It all starts with a piece of pre-felt, not to be mistaken for felt for sewing as this has a much looser weave enabling you to fray and felt.

Building layers of coloured top coat on top of the felt.
then tacking it down by stabbing it with the needles.

Placing it on top of the model and stabbing it further until it is in place, of course it needs a bit finessing to get rid of those stabbing dimples but you get the picture.

Attention to detail so I flipped him over to give him some paw pads.
Ta Dah!

He is done and I love him.

I think he is definitely the Alpha Male of the pack.

I named him Storm.

I think he has character

Wolf in clothing - Needle Felting

Not quite a wolf in sheeps clothing but bit by bit my needle felted wolf is getting to where I want it. As I write this you can't see my dining table for wool haha!

Now you may be forgiven to thinking he has a pair of shorts on but the weather has been glorious here.
No seriously when blended it will all work out.

He's a big project and I will try to do a size comparison later. Bit by bit he is coming together, lots of colours lots of blending and not going at this one 24/7, walking away from it and gradually getting the desired shape.

As you can see I need to sort out the line of colour next to his nose as it looks like a ridge at the moment but I will go back to that later.

is it a Wolf? Needle Felting

OK I've started a new project in needle felting, is it a hound? a wolf or a husky? Only time will tell

I have to admit, he doesn't look too fierce does he?

Each time I pass by him I pick up the needle felting needle and stab him a little more, bit by bit he will get there.

Needle Felt Mouse Mr Farthing

Meet Mr Farthing the needle felt mouse. He will be knocking on Penny Mouses door to arrange a date, I feel a courtship is upon us.

He's a dapper chap in his top hat and bow tie, I think Penny is going to love him.

I love the tubby tums of these mice.
The next step is to introduce him to Penny. Love is in the air....

Needle Felt Mouse - Penny

Meet my needle felt mouse, her name is Penny
Cute!, Cute!, Cute!

She's a pretty little thing, just waiting for a young chap to sweep her off her feet,

She has the dress and the flowers at the ready so all that she needs is a handsome partner to match.

The trickiest part is her feet and tail, her whiskers came from horses hair I found hanging from some wire around a field with horses in, washed and cleaned of course.

This only means one thing now she needs a chap, Can't stop now... speak soon x

Needle Felt Snow Hare

The snow hare is just a ball of fluff on legs, needle felting nightmare but gorgeous all the same.

I just love how massive the hares feet are, and his pelt so thick and warm.

his whiskers came courtesy of the sweeping broom as I didn't have any horse hair.

I could have made him all white and most of is pelt is but they do have some distinguishing colouring.

I have to get my thinking cap on to what to make next, I have a few ideas rattling around.

Hello Mr Fox Needle Felting

As we no with all of this self isolating the wild life is reclaiming its land and here is Seaham we have spotted a few Foxy Loxy's about. I decided I would like to make a needle felted Fox and I love him so much I may do some more to keep him company.

I wont say he was easy as he wasn't and I left his face until last as I was scared to do it haha!

Just look at that bushy tail.
His legs were tricky little beggers trying to keep them skinny whilst wrapping them.

Did I say he was bendable? well as he has a wire armature it allows you to bend him to the pose you want.

I think he looks right at home in the garden. I need a name for him, can you help? I would love you to give me suggestions in the comments, I quite like Mr --------
