Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
Unexpectedly entertaining and a little John-Wick-like
Watched without any expectation but turn out continuing watching non-stop. It has a good build-up of the main character through flash back and elaboration of the character - Eric is a trouble-maker, that's what the whole story is about. The story was added with a few characters which were interesting making the show more entertaining. Not sure how many recognize that the ex-special force villain was in John Wick 3, I think the director had intention to create a female character who's like John Wick, the fight scenes were not bad.
Some said the size of Erin is not convincing, look at the Indon fighter, he's about the same size. Looking forward to season 2.
Chak dan juen ga (2017)
The storyline is a mess
Typical Hong Kong movie that didn't put much focus on story, it's flat throughout even though it has put in place conflicting characters and elements of brotherhood and father-and-son among the characters.
Yip Man 4 (2019)
It's not just the fighting scenes
The success of Ip Man is not just because of the martial arts but it's also supported by a story line that covers the relationship between Ip Man and friends and his family, since its first installment. Likewise in this final episode, the story begins with the broken relationship between father and son, which probably creates the few most memorizing moments of the movie. A good one that ends the story well.
Gemini Man (2019)
Just enjoy the actions
Without high hopes about the movie, I quite enjoyed it wihout much care on the flat storyline. It is no doubt disappointing that thus came out from Ang Lee, don't expect the film to be the same standard as what Lee usually produced. However, I must give credit to Lee how he has designed the action scenes.
