Trick (1999)
My favorite Gay movie & I have seen most!
Not only does it take place in my neighborhood but it's gritty down to the stairwell minus cockroaches that Campbell had to sleep on! Both main characters are straight as far as I know and the dancer really got that role down!
Has anyone heard there is works for a Trick 2 ?
Well I just looked at the top 100 Gay movies and this movie came in top 25 but I still don't get the story behind brokeback mountain- it's beautiful as the actors are but my brain goes to Trick- it's got humor; great story;Christopher street that I love etc
Cola de Mono (2018)
Liked this movie
Remember that it takes place in the 1980s(1886), so no internet yet! That's why the reading is prolific especially Steven King... I thought that the younger brother coming to terms with his sexual feelings was very sexy and well done- USA can't even get one frontal shot in a movie- I wanted to purchase the film but see its being shown at Sundance 2019 so that may be a reason- I will add this movie to my Gay themed library- the only way to see it is on DEKKOO WHICH IS an add on channel on Prime but they also have a great collection of Gay themed movies ...
Johan (1976)
I liked the way it was filmed
Not a film for kids only because it borders on porn but there are no porn shots but some frontal-
It reminds me a lot of the way Bruce Weber filmed CHOP SUEY ! Not put together as well as CS but worth a watch on free TUBI- if you go to the bottom of the home page on your tv, at the bottom are lists of different genres
A Happening in Central Park (1968)
Can't believe 11 songs are missing !
Another review stats that 11 songs are missing- on Netflix there are parts of talking missing like " TCH" I believe is from this concert-- I hope that Irene Sharaff, who did the clothes for funny girl designed these-- the first dress I believe had a cape added because its at the end of the movie when she finds out that Nicky was investing in a casino - I think this is the dress.
I'm old enough to have seen this on tv , probably in black & white! Haha
I Love Barbra at this point of her career- I was TOO YOUNG to see the broadway show but from this point on I traveled to see her sing just one song like the Kennedy center or a movie opening- that was so much fun & we all had that energy to wait hours !
I have the DVD with all her specials & will rewatch...
If you've never seen this, remember that Barbra took one weekend for rehearsals & performance and then back to the set in Hollywood
I did see her perform in Brooklyn and it was a treat!
En algun lugar (2017)
A PLACE TO BE
My soul was ripped open from this movie ! Starts off as a great Gay love story and then as life intervenes, it does become dark! Still a must watch movie that is contemporary ---
There are no nude scenes so basically ok for older kids
Thanks go out to the writers- producers - actors and this entire team
Getting High! (2010)
LOVED THIS MOVIE
The CREATIVE PART OF AN ARTIST; A BEST FRIEND THAT INTERWEAVES " THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD " STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW THIS RELATES----
THE SCENES WHERE THEY GET HIGH ARE VERY REAL AND IT ALL HAPPENS IN MY OLD NEIGHBORHOOD - I LIKED IT BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY CERTAIN PEOPLE WOULD STAY AWAY!!

The Martian (2015)
BOTANY
If he ( Matt Damon) is a botanist, doesn't NASA know from his biography that he knows/grows plants!? AS A PHARMACIST, I SPENT ONE GRUELING YEAR LEARNING BOTANY AND ITS NOT BECAUSE I DONT LOVE PLANTS BUT THE PROFESSOR WAS SO BORING- MY DAD DIED THAT DECEMBER AND HE WOULD NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GIVING ME A MAKEUP EXAM !- WHICH MEANT IF I WAS TO GRADUATE AND PRACTICE I HAD TO GO TO SUMMER SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE- I NEVER FORGAVE THIS GUY!! LIFE HAS A WAY OF TAKING YOU ON A MAGICAL DETOUR WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT!! I ENDED UP WITH AN A PLUS IN BOTANY PLUS I HAD TO TAKE A STRANGE CLASS-CALCULUS PLUS COMPUTERS-THERE WERE OVER 30 PEOPLE IN THAT CLASS AND I DID NOT KNOW MY BRAIN WORKS & CAN FIGURE OUT COMPUTERS AND CALCULUS WAY BEFORE ANYONE IN THAT CLASS HAD THE ANSWER- THAT WAS FUN AND ANOTHER A PLUS !!
I can't believe this movie made that much money! I guess people are really interested in movies beside Star Wars & Star Trek- I wouldn't be able to sit in a seat watching this , even though well done, just how far you think Matt Damon can go?? I'm in the middle , unless MARS ATTACK CREATURES show up then that would be fuuuun !
MY brain lost interest after the NASA moon landing , EVERYTHING ELSE IS DONE, MINUS A FEW EXPERIMENTS that I've read about , to just LITTER LITTER AND LITTER the GALAXIES !
I KNOW THAT WE HAVE NOT TOUCHED SO MUCH OF THE OCEANS ON EARTH, THAT GO WAY BACK IN one HISTORY LESSON,! LOOK AT THAT GREAT SHIPWRECK THEY JUST FOUND IN THE RED SEA AND BECAUSE ITS SO DEAP, IT REMAINED INTACT I THINK BECAUSE OF BEING PRESSURIZED/ ALL THE AMAZING POTTERY ETC -- and God only knows what will happen with the NORTH AND SOUTH POLES ONCE THE ICE HAS MELTED- RUSSIANS ETC CLAIMED LAND ALREADY BECAUSE OF THE WEALTH OF NATURAL RESOURCES...
MY bets ALL GO ON THE GREAT OCEAN FLOORS WHERE WE WILL LEARN SO MUCH FOR EARTH TO SURVIVE - NEED TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH SOME AMERICAN INDIAN TRIBES- THEY KNOW THE EARTH

The Out of Towners (1970)
Neil Simon movies I adore
If you live in this CRAZY AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NUTS ENVIRONMENT called New York City , you will immediately get the humor!! I am a bit obsessed with Simon's work because many are based on my town- NO ONE AND I MEAN NOT A SOUL COULD HAVE PLAYED SANBDY's role... she is the cool calm confident one but does loose it towards the end... she will get the Oscar in coming years for Virginia Wolf with Liz/ Burton ! If it is going to go wrong, you bet your long lost relatives that it will happen to these two, including circling manhattan waiting to land at the very beginning- well take that in and add about 50 more things that happen-- they are GOOD PEOPLE from the Midwest- well Lemmon wants to further his career with his new job interview ... what happens in between is hysterical- after this movie Lemmon also did Prisoner of second avenue with Ann Bancroft- another must see hilarious movie !!
Cheers & enjoy

I Feel Pretty (2018)
AMY
Great SCRIPT- I always say it & I mean it- the Script must be up to par with the acting ensemble!! A must !! This does it head on- but someone please tell me when AMY gets pretty because I think she has a beauty first before the comedy but she would say go ** myself !! I would love to see her get a dynamite script & act her butt off ! She has it in her like Goldie did!
Ok this movie is worth going to the theatre to see it, it is that funny and a cast of women rarely seen- if Michel Williams does not get an Oscar nom for her role , I don't know if I could go on living ; I know Amy will get an Oscar's nom for sure & definitely win the Golden Globe- SHE'S got " IT" !! We all need to come together in these wicked times and humour is the best way !
Love the entire cast ; thank you for giving me a good laugh but empowering women in these times ..
GO SEE IT- I WILL BUY TICKETS IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD BECAUSE IT IS THAT GOOD!! Up to 10 people...
Cheers,,,

Amarcord (1973)
We grew up watching FELLINI'S movies
It was not any influence of adults; the films were filled with amazing characters, each having an entire life of their own/ like they had waited & waited & waited for FELLINI to bring the cameras & just film us- I noticed that the crazy guy in the tree screaming" I want a woman!" Was repeated by Merchant/ Ivory in "ROOM WITH A VIEW"- don't know the significance- we never did it growing up- this is a great film- sit back & just enjoy
Chicago (2002)
PLZ GO SEE THE BROADWAY SHOW!
I have seen it over 10 times here& it just never gets boring- Fosse did one of his best works here and you don't get the choreography with this movie- not enough room to say what needs to be said of this now classic musical
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
It is LUC doing what he does best!!
This is a movie that with time, will have a cult following! I always like the head trip he takes us on- just let go, let LUC drive !!
This Property Is Condemned (1966)
Natalie is stunning in this movie!
First Natalie is breathtaking to watch and I still miss her!.. her sister ,is played by the wonderful Mary Badham. The search for the right girl for " To Kill a Mockingbird" ended up with children that had no acting experience ( IN THAT AREA they filmed) in their lives(Mary played Scout )but forever became a part of our lives with their incredible performances...and she also stands out ,a bit older then" to Kill a Mockingbird" but still that feisty character that played "Scout" in Mockingbird! but Natalie steals this movie ....I just love watching her act..and Sydney Pollack directing Redford would prove a very long collaboration.I think Redford is the same in almost any movie, if they need a wild game hunter,"Out Of Africa" but costarring with Streep, they give a wonderful performance and he does the same thing as if it was in "Barefoot on the Park" nothing differs with his acting, that's my opinion but I like him in his movies...Hubbell .another name that will always go down in Film History...another point,Natalie wears ONE dress this entire movie, a thing a Hollywood actress would shun away from...but Tennessee Williams as the writer, you can't go wrong.Anytime I hear his words, as I do Truman Capote's words.."the world is AOK!" for me..WOW...Redford did "Barefoot in the Park" one year after this movie...that's interesting!
revised: I just looked at it again and she wears more than one dress in the movie..sorry Natalie fans!..still just a great movie..how times were, when all you had to worry about was"train service" but T.Williams adds the fact of so many losing jobs, from the lose of that train service
Beastly (2011)
Loved this movie!
I saw Alex for the very first time in "I am Number Four" and have both this and that movie on order from Amazon. What a career this guy has had and going to have..I really don't care(most times?!) who's in the movie because the SCRIPT ,for me,comes first and it was exactly the kind of movie that I like.Special effects are third on the list for me..but when it all comes together, you should feel something inside your body that "moved you" and this movie did it for me.Alex is perfect , in every way..OK, I have to add more to the review, well I don't give anything anyway with the fact it is named "BEASTLY" and Alex is the BEAST and done by a witch but I will not say WHY he has changed and will he ever changed back..but that journey from point A to point Z, involved some pretty unique things that he must learn first, like all of us in life. Not all children today, especially with the Internet and TV, are taught HOW to properly handle themselves in a relationship, in your classroom etc.You must be taught from he "GROUND UP"!! Some kids get it, some don't but you know the kids that do get it it when they reach adulthood...a heart is something not to be shrugged at because that needs the most work..how to love, where to love, whom to love etc..well Alex learns just a bit of this.
Cheers.. Tony(NYC)
Love! Valour! Compassion! (1997)
one of my favorite gay themed movies
in any movie, no matter who the actors are, the script is very important to me , as it should be for everyone involved, especially the actors. This script, story, is so beautifully written..in the first lines"the sloping stairs " of that beautiful staircase..always takes me "home" to anytime in my life, when I felt safe, at home, wherever I was living or visiting at the time or whatever relationship I was in...it's truthful for most of the story...I just do not see a person with AIDS being accepted into the USA from the UK ..but all done for the story...and the stage version must have been just as incredible..it takes you from a beautiful summer, from several different couples, that have been invited to a a summer home in the wilderness(it seems), through several seasons and what happens at the end..allot happens in this story that spans lifetimes but done so beautifully
