Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
One of the best if not the best of the series
I know people hated this movie. I personally love it. People hate it because its not Jason. But i guess that's why i hate Halloween 3 so who knows? I love this movie. It has a relaxed atmostphere. In 4th one you can't wait for these people to die. In this one its a more relaxed area. Its fun like the 3rd one. Has great kills. Great story. I luv the sheriff. Knew him from hard target. Venturini is way too short lived. Would have liked to have seen more of him. He was a gorgeous man. Died way too young in life. I like the 2 punks that broke down. The one honks the horn at the other. I love it because its something i would have done and laughed about it. I love the psuedo echo song. The guy that played Jason i thought did a great job. Of course this like the others were butchered of all the good kill scenes.
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
Begins like the Shootist..........
This movie begins like the Shootist. It shows flashbacks of the previous 13ths. You just can't keep a good slasher down. Corey Feldman is an annoying brat i could never tolerate this kid in anything. I can't tolerate anyone here. Everyone is annoying except Rob he's a little on the hot side. I always loved Ted White i thought he did a really good Jason. Thought he was a terrific stuntman. It kind of looked like him driving the ambulance at the beginning. He had a nice powerful bod and nice paw paws too. He does have a unJason like death. No good love scenes. No great kills. Virgin was annoying but ain't they all.
Goosebumps (2015)
So where was the music?
Growing up in the 90's i grew up on Goosebumps. The movie is very slow. Its very long. Its very childish and its very boring. You see like what 5 or 6 monsters out of the 50 some books that was written. This movie should have been made for the fans who grew up in the 90's and read the books and watched the series. Instead it was made for children of today which have no taste in any good show. I really would have loved to have heard the music, i mean what is goosebumps without the Jack Lenz theme? I had to fast forward continuously it was so annoying. As for the one really annoying guy, to admit you are afraid of goosebumps books, yeah that makes you like the biggest sissy ever made. Can't stand the mother or the aunt. Never cared for Slappy. Where was the Mutant or the Haunted Mask? I did love the car. I also loved the brief sight of the executioner. Loved him in the 90's. I did like the credits, was old goosebumps book covers. And of course who could not forget Mr. Stine at the end.
The Last Breath (2024)
Watched it for Julian and the sharks
My dad got me hooked on shark movies. I've seen them all, low budget, high budget no budget. Jaws will never be beat. Well My daddy is gone now but i still watch them. So it always amazes me that people are so surprised to see a shark in the ocean. They do live in the ocean correct? Cant stand the one guy, or the idiot, point of fact no one is tolerable. I watched this for Julian. I will say this shark movie took a new turn and headed to a sunken battleship. That was a nice new story. But yeah these people were so surprised about the sharks well we all know sharks don't live in the ocean right? What happened to men being men? Do people think nothing will go wrong? Movie is slow. Long time to see a shark. I'm not the type to quit or lay down and die and think people should be more like that. Been better to twist this around to a shockwaves theme. I am happy to say I think Julian went up on that mountain to die. I fully believe this. I do like the movie was dedicated to him.
Descanse en piezas (1987)
Yikes! Quite terrible.
Ah the things i will watch because it has a "goon" in it. I liked the vhs cover which turns out had nothing to do with the movie itself. I love Jack Taylor. He resembled Horst Frank who i really love. Always tolerated dorothy malone she never irritated me. So 2 people go and see what they inherited. A very annoying chick and the guy with her. Servants are all a bit off. So the joint is haunted, well supposedly. The couple go looking for their fortune. A few murders. A few rottweilers. A few love scenes. Lead chick looks like a man. It eventually gets so maddening that you have to fast forward to the end to see what is the conclusion. Its not the worst movie but it is confusing a bit and takes the long way around the barn.
A Real American Hero (1978)
Dennehy at his finest
While I am only 34 i grew up on gorgeous guys like Dennehy. Watched Rambo before i was 10 and consider last of the finest to be one if the best movies ever made. My dad who i was very close with had this on VHS but as much as he liked Dennehy and the walking talls i never remember him watching this. I like the one Baker did and the Svenson ones too. The new ones were trash. It started out really good this movie. I thought Dennehy did a good job. Some kids get poisoned by bad booze and that sets Pusser off. Ken Howard showed up. Nice looking. I have yet to see his manhunter series anywhere. Generally the same storyline. Same baddies getting away with stuff and Pusser tries to set them right. Love it when he runs in the old broads for the bingo game but i did not care for his fake accent.
Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! (2020)
One of the worst ever made
Not sure where to begin. We all know the new Velma's voice is so unbelievably annoying. Her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. I have to mute her. When did Scooby go from everyone to enjoy to just for preschoolers? Lord this was trashy. It was so annoying it was nothing but a shame. However i will say the mutant pumpkins are cool. Especially the ones that end up driving mad max similar cars. That is all the reason to watch this. There's a little girl on here - also with a very annoying voice. Bill Nye was always annoying. I watched this once and never foresee watching it again. It was brutal. Winnie the Pooh Blood & Honey 2 was 200x better than this was.
Friday the 13th Part III (1982)
One of the better of the lot
Ah yes, 3-4-5-6 are my favs! This one is famous for Voorhees gets his hockey mask. Billowing laundry at the beginning, always a killer hiding in that! Never gets old. This one is filmed in 3D those are always fun. Everything is aimed real close to the camera. The guy who does Jason does it well. Nice built and hands. Shelley is annoying. I like the hippie guy. Not at a camp but an old farm. Love Nick Savage but his role was a bit small. Mick was always arresting him on hill street blues. Good death kills. Anyone can do a Savini. Love the music. Cutting the guy in half was cool. Just a nice movie, not like 4 where everyone is annoying and no one is likeable. Can't wait for them all to die. This one is very good.
Sting (2024)
Winnie the Pooh blood and honey 2 was 100x better!
While there is no accounting for taste this movie was terrible! I have arachnophobia but i till watch spider movies. Have to kill the occasional tarantula down in the basement the usual. It is a family film. A brat with a spider. That is it. The parents are babying this brat, the step dad you feel bad for. Liked when the step dad told her what a perfect daddy she really has. Could not stand the wifey. I'm a woman and a woman hater on a good day. I did however recognize the crawlspace that little brat kept sliding in and out of. Its like hey i know that crawlspace. Except Kinski crawled thru it better and the movie Crawlspace with Kinski was a lot better than this. Want a good spider movie? Watch Itsy Bitsy.
Ripper Street (2012)
We're with ya Mr. Reed!
To begin i love the music but like most they change it towards the end. The first 2 seasons are really good! Even have the Elephant Man in a few eps, poor creature. 3rd season was okay, 4th was lousy except for last 2 eps. It got to the point where you prayed for it to end. Season 4 was a large cast change. Didn't like that. Got to meet some new people other than Frankie Thatcher no one else is tolerable. Season 4 ends unpleasantly. Thatcher gets strapped naked to a horse that was funny. David Warner was on briefly but i could not watch him, he looked so bad i cried. Most people you cannot stand and the rest are annpying. It was okay, as far as series goes. Most of the eps are unhappy in their ends but at the end of season 4 the corwds root for Reed - We believe in you Mr. Reed! Don't let them catch ya! Then the series finale was hideous.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II (2024)
Oh Bother! Loved it!
I like the intro. Glad it picks up where the other left off. So people been killed in these woods so of course 3 chicks are going to the woods in their RV. Owl was very cool! Very cool. Ryan Oliva was okay as Pooh i rather liked the other guy. Love the voices of Owl & Tigger and yes Pooh. They are hunted on here and go to Owl for help. Shotgun thru the skull was cool. Little girl is annoying. Christoper i can tolerate. There is a scene where a father & son are bird watching, we can guess how well that goes! Seems Christoper has a brother. This is new. This has a scene similar to "found" in which they are watching a movie within a movie. I never liked cartoon Tigger. I love this one! Seems a neighboring town of Bamdi has CWD in deer. This is actually a horrible disease. I lost many pet deer thru this. Trying to explain what Pooh & the others are was a let down. Obviously not stuffed animals but could we leave it at that? I thought Pooh was dead at the end, turns out he isn't but i thought do we have to kill him off? I loved the music. Loves the Bambi pics and Pooh pics during the Cast. Hey bought this on blu ray from ebay since i cannot stream. I've watched it 8 times in the last 2 weeks. Love It and love what Pooh says all the way at the end............
That was my first post all of the above but i have some things to add just a few weeks later and having watched it 30x since. I love it! I love the new Pooh, i hope the writer makes 10 of these or more! Thank God for ebay and getting movies from it. I can't stream at home. Live out in the boonies.
Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins (2009)
Zoinks! Not bad.
While i was and still am under the notion that they met as little kids, from a pup named scooby doo, this says they met in high school. Frank Welker as Scooby. Shocker. I liked the specter. I loved Freddy which is the opposite of what i thought. Never liked Freddy Prinze and he was no Fred in the other Scooby but this guy i liked. Shaggy tried too hard. Velma was getting on my nerves too. Daphne was very good, much better than Geller. I liked the end. It did the intros to the best scooby cartoons; the Scooby doo show and scooby doo where are you and whats new scooby doo. Really enjoyed it. Better than the ones from early 2000's.
Sergeant Rutledge (1960)
"I stole it in Atlanta"
I love Judson Pratt how could you know? He's cute on here, hilarious as always. I love Good Chuck and he actually says more than a few words on here. Bad Chuck also graces us with his presence. Jack Pennick was also on here, no surprise for any of these 4. He was cute too. I am a 34 yr old white woman and have never been attracted to black men but i have always loved Woody Strode. He gives a hands down great performance on here! But he always does. Monument Valley gets so old after awhile. I have never cared for Jeffrey Hunter. I don't even care for John Ford but this movie has all the good guys in it when men were men. I thought this would end like to kill a mockingbird. What a surprise!
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
No more screaming no more running.................
To begin there is a very nice old Bronco on here that Ty drives. Love it. Herbert West is on here, well Jeffrey Combs but he will always be Herbert to me from Re-Animator. Brandy i never minded, she was okay. Can't stand anyone else in it. Good deaths in it. Really good music, but finding music only cd has been a nightmare. It has a fantastic ending! To me this movie is much better than the first! Much like terminator 2. Ah yes kills taking place in the middle of nowhere - Tower Bay. Muse is in much more so that is most likely why i love this one more. If Muse Watson was not in this i'd never watch it. Love it. Good one!
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
Happy 4th of July Julie
Don't care for anyone on here except Muse Watson, fine looking man. Prinze never could act. Phillipe can't stand. Hewitt really can't stand. Buffy is okay. I love the ending, love how it cuts off. Heche i knew from 6 days and 7 nights. Scary Movie 1 did a good rip off of this but if Muse was not in this i would never watch it. I love the slashers but i am particular and this one has great scenes. Good story. I mean up to now has anyone used a meat hook? Though it does look more like a hay bale hook. Just a good tone, too bad they have not remade this yet though the way Hollywood is they always bump off the good old boys.
Thanksgiving (2023)
So who was the Killer?
There was a few new deaths. Death by trampoline way is new, the corn cob picks to the ears i don't think has ever been done. The killer was way too skinny though i did like his footwear. I liked it when the killer fed the cat. Nice. Yulia's daddy was not bad looking. Looked like John Larch. There was way too much cussing. They were trying too hard. The gore was a little much too and i never say that. So was it on purpose that he was trying to make a bad movie? Id id love the old Bronco. I also like it that Dempsey dropped the romance comedy movies to star in a horror. I enjoyed seeing the people who had it coming, get it coming. People been cooking up other people for years, nothing new there. Dead bodies don't bleed, no one figured this out yet? Dad was in 'Nam. No real surprises. Movie was predictable. So who was the Killer? It is revealed at the end of who they suggest the killer is, but my trained eye for detail knows Dempsey is not that skinny. Nice try.
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004)
Zoinks!
So the usual theme been done before try to break up the team. Again Geller is Geller and Prinze Jr is just Prinze Jr. It was too obvious who the bad guy was but oh well. The music was very good, oddly. Lillard did not get on my nerves again unless i am just used to hearing him on the cartoons since he replaced Casem. What i loved was the bad guys they brought into it - Miner 49er, Tar Monster, Black Knight, yes i did like that. A few more would have been good too. Again liked Velma, liked when Shaggy and Scooby drank potions. It was a good movie, long overdue in watching, now that its what 20 years old. But yes, good one.
The Mean One (2022)
I ordered bell peppers not jingle bells
So not sure what i expected. I like the new Pooh blood & Honey. It was low budget but not noticeably. This was made in someone's backyard, very cheeply. Acting was atrocious. Wonder if i'll get stopped in a town where its illegal to have antlers on your car? The gore was way way over the top. The ending was stupid and i did not like it. I did have the same necklace that the Grinch wore. Should have been a rape scene. That would have been interesting. I won't get rid of the blu ray because its stream only over here but i'll not watch it again. The blood & honey pooh one was 10x better than this if that says anything.
Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022)
Go see da boss!
I love most of Mr. Del Toro's movies. I love the cricket on here so cute. Poor guy always getting squished. Bravo that he made it for adults. The blue fairy looks like she died her wings blue after she left Hellboy 2. Very cool. The wooden boy i thought was really annoying, like really annoying! Like use him for firewood already. I love Perlman and Waltz always have. I liked the monkey he was cute. Was interesting story. The remake disney one was atrocious but the cartoon was always okay. Just okay. Wished Mr. Toro had done a pleasure island on here. The rabbits looked like escapees from the new Winnie the Pooh blood and honey. But when they spoke with the Bronx accent they seemed okay.
Kingdom of the Spiders (1977)
Not as good as Tarantulas
This is not as good as Tarantulas the deadly cargo. That's the one we always had. This one is starting out okay but the ending was so ridiculously stupid. I don't like Shatner never have. I don't mind Marlboro Man he looks good and rough on here but i lost respect for him when he picketed against cigs. I watched this because i love Woody Strode. He was a gorgeous beautiful man. The only black man i have ever been attracted to. He was the only one and Marlboro who could act. No one else could. What a shame. Quite the embarrassment. Woody sadly does not last long and i lose interest. Too bad he wasn't on Tarantulas the deadly cargo. It was much better.
The Gardener (2021)
Oh wow
Was the movie 10 stars no but Gary Daniels was and so was Bronzi. Gary Daniels looks good with age, oh wow. The punks i could not have cared less about - nothing to look at. But Gary oh wow. Only thing is he'd a looked behind a skull mask. Bronzi i never watched before in a movie, i had seen him in a commercial and was startled by his amazing likeness to ol Bronson. I grew up on Bronson, though i am only 34 but it is almost haunting. But Bronzi is very cute, i love how he talks, and i loved him on here. Family that gets kidnapped yeah whatever, could not much care less or the guys that break in but oh Gary still easy on the eyes and love Bronzi!
The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023)
Predictable but not terrible
I knew the guy would get on the ship by saving that kid. And it happened. The whole movie was predictable. It was like Titanic in the way of you know how it is going to end - no one will survive. The kid was annoying. Soon as the kid showed up i knew a woman wouldn't be far off and lo and behold right again. Was a bit slow, like the "build suspense" scenes it was like grabbing the remote for the fast forward button. Its like okay get on with it. It was a nice chapter in the Drac movies considering the only ones that are 10 of 10 stars are the one with Langella and Lugosi. I wished they had showed the vampire as human at the end instead of not.
Candy Cane Lane (2023)
Fine! Take it!!!
You will not find the words fine or take it in the movie but i will think of it always. My friend told me how hideous this movie was. She was right it was atrocious. The story and the mini people oh it was awful. I like Eddie Murphy and have not watched any of his for awhile. I liked the xmas tree but it really was quite awful until Santa Claus made his appearance. It bugged me and bugged me until i thought i was going to have a stroke. I looked at my sister and asked her, what is he from? She said; "Fine!" i paused a minute while most people would be startled i smiled back and said; "Take it!" He was the cop on Jumanji.
Goosebumps (2023)
1 out of zero and that is being generous
Had to get this one disc outside of the US for starters. So, where is the music? I don't hear it. Think maybe they could bring it back? I grew up on the ones from the 90's. Only a few of them were any good. This one, well "don't scare me" where were the mud monsters? Horrorland - where were the monsters? This was so predictable too. It was brutal sitting thru this, very brutal. I love how at the end of each ep it says they are based on the books by RL Stine. And they thought they could get away with this? I read the books, have them clear in my mind. So yeah excuse me? They are not like the books. Too different for me. Belongs in the trash bin.
The Flintstones (1960)
To the moon Alice er uh Wilma
I hadn't watched the Flintstones since a VHS tape years ago. So i got the complete series dirt cheap and sat down to watch a few. I was appalled. I know Gleason did not want to be known as the man who killed Fred Flintstone but how could no one say anything about this? He should have canceled the show. This is wrong in so many ways! This gets a 1 star and that is being generous. I love Gleason, i may be a woman but my nickname is Ralph because i have Ralph Kramden's temperament. Like nearly every episode is Honeymooners related. I could know exactly how an episode will end as soon as it starts. I could not finish this. This was almost sickening.
