The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)
I think they forgot to add the rest of the movie
In my opinion, this was some pretty sloppy work. The kills and the cinematography were both just eh. The movie was so dragged out that I could cut the parts that weren't important, and the movie wouldn't even be an hour long. So many stupid mistakes too. Yeah, let's get high so your boyfriend thinks you're hallucinating. Let's play the piano, while a record is on, while you're on FaceTime at full volume for the dead silence outside the house, so everyone in the whole state of Oregon hears you. I think I'll wait till Chapter 2, and Chapter 3 comes out to rent on my TV, because that was a waste of my afternoon....
Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022)
Does it ever end?
After being stabbed in the stomach by a katana, water sprouting on literal sparks in an electrical robot, shot with a gun at least 10 times, in a car crash, two explosions, wires, literally hanging out of his hand and stomach, no left arm, and much more terror, you'd think this guy would just die. Nope !! Let's just kill him off and then surprise he's alive again, then he dies, oh wait, he's alive, oh he definitely had to have died this time. He was in a LITERAL explosion ! Oh just kidding, he's alive. This movie is filled with unnecessary scenes at the beginning and the end, but the Gore and production was pretty good. Watching the nonchalantness in the movie of the police officers and other characters makes me want to throw my remote at my tv. Dashcam was pretty good and the boogeyman was okay, so wasn't expecting a lot. Overall a 57/100.
Thanksgiving (2023)
A Predictable, Non-Predictable Thriller for Horror Fans
For a horror movie fan like me, I predicted this more than I predicted Scream VI. Quite obvious who it was when the car scene happened. Excepted.
The Black Friday scene was my favorite scene. There was a lot of gore, and the scene maybe even made me giggle a time or two. It was constructed with care, and the deaths were on point, I also enjoyed the killers motive. It made sense and it was a smart point.
I also enjoyed the cat scene. It gives some kind of feeling for the killer that makes you feel sad for him. If you don't understand what I mean, then ignore this.
Overall I would give this a 6.8 out of ten.
Evil Dead Rise (2023)
A Bone-Chilling, Magnifying, Nail Biting, Bloodbath
Although this movie didn't have a perfect ending, every single kill was crafted with care, the setting was amazing. The cinematography was outstandingly amazing, and the story was realistic. From Bridget's Bloody Bugs to Ellie's Elegant Extermination, and we can't forget about Jakes Jab to the eye! This movie was carefully but quickly crafted like I said with care, and I will not forget about this slaughterhouse of a movie.. At all! AND THERE WAS SO MUCH BLOOD! The only reason this movie did not get a 10 out of 10 is because of the ending, I feel like it was a little sloppy. Otherwise, it was amazing!
Sissy (2022)
This Is Pure Gold
This should have at least won an award, or something this year because this film really surprised me. The creativity and work that was put into this $25,000 Aussie film really paid off. The plot twist, everything. Even the foreshadowing. I came into this film knowing nothing besides the trailer, with a 5-6 star rating from me.
The beginning had a great pacing. Some of the cinematography shots had me uncomfortable at first, but I learned to deal with it.
Each Kill is constructed with the perfect touch to shock you, but also to see what exactly you expect to see. I had many intentions watching this again.
This was a 94/100 for me. The impressiveness of a budget so small shocked me as well. I will be rewatching soon, as this was my 2nd favorite film of 2022 following Zach Kreggers, BARBARIAN.
