In ihrer dritten Förderrunde des Jahres 2024 hat die Idm Film Commission Mittel in einer Gesamthöhe von rund zwei Mio. Euro für zehn Projekte vergeben, für die knapp 100 Drehtage in Südtirol angesetzt sind.

2,01 Mio. Euro für sechs Spiel- und zwei Dokumentarfilm, eine Serie und einen Kurzfilm – so lautet die Bilanz der dritten Fördersitzung der Idm Film Commission Südtirol.

Wie die Südtiroler Filmförderung heute mitteilt, fließt die Förderung an fünf Projekte aus Italien – vier davon aus Südtirol -, vier Projekte aus Deutschland sowie ein Projekt aus Österreich. In Südtirol geplant sind hierfür etwa 100 Drehtage.

Die ProSiebenSat.1-Streaming-Plattform Joyn hat für die Vampir-Comedy-Serie „Der Upir“ mit Fahri Yardim und Rocko Schamoni in den Hauptrollen den Starttermin bekannt gegeben. Das auf dem Seriencamp Festival im Juni umfeierte Format der UFA Fiction gibt es exklusiv ab dem 18. September zum Streamen.

Riot Fest 2024 goes down September 20th-22nd. This year will also see the Chicago music festival moving to a brand new location. After calling Douglass Park its home for nearly a decade, Riot Fest will head south to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois to establish what it’s calling RiotLand.

Wenn man am vorletzten Tag des Seriencamp Festivals in Köln schon ein verfrühtes Fazit ziehen will, müsste zu den Gewinnern auf jeden Fall die Streaming-Plattform Joyn von ProSiebenSat.1 und Head of Content, Thomas Münzner, gezählt werden. Münzner war an zwei Tagen auf dem Podium, präsentierte am Donnerstag bei der Conference die eigene Vampir-Comedy „Der Upir“ mit UFA-Fiction-Produzentin Katharina Possert und Regisseur Peter Meister und war am Freitag nochmal zurück, um im „Next“-Bereich ebenso erste Bewegtbilder von der zweiten Serien-Comedy „Keks“ zu zeigen.

Circle Jerks and Descendents have released a split covers EP ahead of their Spring 2024 US tour together.

The EP is available exclusively on 7″ vinyl via Trust Records. On the A-side, the Descendents take on the Circle Jerks’ “Red Tape”, “I Just Want Some Skank,” and “Beverly Hills.” On Side B, Circle Jerks re-imagine the Descendents’ “Kabuki Girl” and “Hope.”

It’s a fair bet a couple of these covers will make their way into the setlists of each band on the upcoming tour.

The trek kicks off this Friday (March 15th) in Tempe, Arizona, and runs through April 13th in Brooklyn, New York. Adolescents will provide support for all dates, many of which are already sold out (get tickets here).

German broadcasters Zdf and ZDFneo are partnering with Berlin-based Pyjama Pictures to develop a high-end series about notorious scam artist Ruja Ignatova, also known as the Cryptoqueen and the most wanted woman on the planet.

Tentatively titled “Take the Money and Run,” the six-part series will tell the story of Ignatova, who shot to fame in 2014 with the launch of OneCoin, which she described as a cryptocurrency for the masses that promised enormous profits.

The Bulgarian-German Ignatova hyped the cryptocurrency at huge rallies and attracted millions buyers around the globe who invested billions of euros in OneCoin, believing claims that it would become the world’s biggest digital currency. Teutonic promotional organization German Films has announced that its annual initiative supporting German filmmaking internationally, Face to Face With German Films, will focus on actors and actresses as the campaign enters its fourth year.

Six of Germany’s leading thesps – Maria Dragus, Christian Friedel, Luise Heyer, Jonas Nay, Jördis Triebel and Fahri Yardim – will represent the German film and television industry’s recent accomplishments through activities at next month’s Berlin Film Festival, including a panel event in association with Variety and Drama Series Days, the European Film Market program focusing on serialized content.

BBC Studios boss Tim Davie has urged that “life’s too short” to work with “jerks” in his keynote at Mipcom.

The CEO of the British producer and distributor made the statement, to a generous round of applause, during his keynote speech at the Mipcom market in Cannes.

He was discussing BBC Studios’ partnership model and said that it was important that the companies involved were strategically aligned. “The other critical thing is ‘do you like each other? Do you get on?’ Life’s too short to deal with horrible people? It’s just not worth it, don’t spend time with those jerks. Work with people you like. It’s not complicated. We have had some adventures with [some] people,” he said.
