Great cast , loads of talented actors in this one but even though the story line seemed interesting it was the most boring slowest flick I have ever endured I felt generous because of the cast in rating it a 4

Great cast kind of seen where the movie was going then they lost it about a quarter of the way in. Basic overview SJP cruising around NY after finding out some heavy news then it's her kinda just not talking about the worst news to anyone, then it ends... Just like that.

My wife and I watched this at home on DVD from our public library.
This movie has received a number of very bad reviews and very low ratings, which are NOT deserved at all. It in fact is a very good movie to do what it sets out to do. It is a character study of a female singer who seems a bit past her prime, then gets some very upsetting health news. The movie follows her for almost 24 hours, interacting with family and friends, reluctant to tell any of them what is going on.
One will like this movie if they are a Sarah Jessica Parker fan, who now is in her early 50s. She plays Vivienne, a professional singer. Divorced, she has a 16-yr-old daughter who lives with Viv's ex-husband. The movie is not dynamic, in fact often there are reasonably long pauses, we are supposed to identify with the terror that surely must be going through her mind.
We only hear her sing a couple of times, quiet nondescript songs. I was surprised when I looked at her bio and found she had a lot of early musical theater experience, even playing the lead in Annie at one point. So she is probably a better singer than is shown in this movie.

This movie had a good cast , but that is the only good thing I can say about it,
It is just dull , tedious , boring . I stuck with it until the end, but was sorely tempted to give up on it by the half way mark.

This was probably the most boring movie I have ever watched. I finished it on fast forward. SJP acting was mediocre, her singing was very bad, and the plot was extremely slow. Most of the movie is just SJP walking around saying and doing nothing .

I was so eager to watch this movie and I wish I hadn't. Complete waste of so much talent considering the brilliant cast. The movie just leaves you with nothing. When the credits started rolling I was so annoyed.

Most bizarre film I've ever wasted 90 minutes on. I love SJP so was drawn to the movie because of her ... disappointed doesn't cover it .. maybe just me but I just didn't get it .. 90 minutes of her walking around, half finished conversations and very poor singing.

There is a certain grace at how the film flows. A series of moments that drag into eachother, it attempts to depict what it may feel like to be in the shoes of someone who's just learned they may lose their health significantly & devastatingly.
It's slow, disjointed, awkward: not that fun to watch. This is the point.

Omg I want the time I spent watching this "movie", if you can call it that, back. It was such a waste and it ended with no conclusion... NONE! She wandered around the city aimlessly(felt like it) and had on the same outfit for 98% of the movie. I very seldom review movies, but after watching this one I had to. Smh, just pass on it and watch something not this. #theworst

I really like this movie, is a melancholic movie, sad, and reflective
it is slow, and it could have different readigns, it reflects in a stressful way what the lead character is going through I understood what Sarah Jessica Parker whas trying to communicate, because all the movie is run by her and the way she expresses emotions.
Could be that you have to be in a certain place in life to understand this movie and feel connected to the character.
I like it, is not a movie for entertainment, is a movie to reflect.
There were a lots of cliches of artistic movies, but that is fine with me.
The movie is made in a particular style. I would probably behave in the same as SJP if i am told I have a good probability of having a malignant brain tumor. The movie perfectly captures the emotions of person who realises that they have been selfish all their lives and now need seek support from them. SJP does an excellent job in capturing those emotions. Worth a watch.
Watching a dumpster fire would be more entertaining then this slow drawn out pile of b.s... all the actors are washed and the music was pure cringe must found it written on the walls of a Walt Disney bathroom stall and said screw this will do.. i dont write reviews so trust me watch your parents having sex before this crap

Fantastic crew, but poorly done movie. The story is just getting lost, not produced well at all. It's really waste of time. Still can't believe that the movie was this bad.

This is an film about a woman who wants to get some closure and tie up loose ends in one day. It portrays a lot of unsaid emotions.
Watched it due to the stellar cast. However I was skeptical about SJP's ability to pull off a drama in a film, and wish I had been wrong. I wonder why the other cast members signed on. I especially looked forward to watching Simon Baker and Renee Zellweger, whose parts were unfortunately minimal. Taylor Kinney played a character he knows by heart by now, I surmise. This was a movie about SJP sulking on heels walking the streets of NYC after learning of her brain tumor one morning. Supposedly quite a respected singer and songwriter, her one performance left a lot to be desired. I wanted to stop watching at that point but wanted to see if a surprise awaited me at the end. It didn't.
With such a good cast I was really expecting a great movie. Do not waste your time, it was the worst movie ever. Could not bear to finish it. Very disappointing.

There was no point to this movie. Watching a singer walking around the city and somehow always getting the same cab driver. Hello, what is the point of this waste of good talent. The scriptwriter & director should go back to school and learn how to make a film. Pure waste of time.

I'll watch anything SJP does in NYC and this meandering Continental style movie has interesting details if you give it a chance.
A jazz singer musician gets a diagnosis of brain tumor and goes around the city. Along the way she sings in a club has her younger lover, sees her daughter who lives with her ex meets a strange Lyft driver and lots more.
Different from her usual comedy drama roles she does stretch her usual type of performance.
Ok for one watch.

I don't understand the tidal wave of negative reviews on this film. In my opinion the story is quite simple.
It's a 24 hour look at a woman who (do to a medical complication) is told her life will end soon. The odds of surviving surgery are very low. So she becomes intensely aware of the life round her - something she had obviously taken lightly previously.
In other words she is absorbing into her mind many things that before had been just an nuisance in her life and she is realizing this is also part of life.
SJP does this role with perfection.

I see many, many very bad reviews here. But there were some really good aspects, at least for me. I think the main problem was that this woman was supposed to be an internationally renowned singer, and I'm sorry, but she just did not have that type of voice. She had the type of voice, at best, that one might hear at a karioke bar, but hardly a renowned voice. It could have worked had she not sung that number at the club. That's what ruined the movie for me. But as a story, I found it interesting and think it could have worked had they just left that scene out, or perhaps dubbed the singing scene with a really great voice. I loved SJP in Sex and the City, but unfortunately have not seen her in anything else of merit.
Maybe she should just stick to producing, or just retire and enjoy all the money she made from that terrific show. And to tell the truth, she is not aging well, to put it mildly.

I literally created an imdb account to review this movie... it was such a let down! I love the cast, the premise of the story could have been amazing but it was the biggest snore. Don't watch it you're better off watching the SATC movies again if you like SJP.
