Nulka is a type of active missile decoy developed in 2009 by a collaborative project by the Royal Australian Navy and the United States Navy. The Nulka is designed to mimic a vessel's radar signature and "seduce" an incoming missile and lure it away from its home vessel. The missile hovers in mid-air in order to fool the incoming missile into mistaking it for a slow-moving ship. The word "Nulka" is of Australian Aboriginal origin and means "be quick". The Nulka missile defense system is employed on certain warships of the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, United States Coast Guard and United States Navy. In the U.S. Navy the Nulka system are installed on Nimitz-class aircraft carriers, the new Gerald R. Ford-class super-carriers which will be taking the place of the old Nimitz-class carriers and Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers. They are also installed on the Australian Navy's Hobart-class air warfare destroyers and the Canadian Navy's Halifax-class guided missile frigates.

Goofs
When they first detect the Greek warship Lt. Granderson says they are picking up a new EHF signal, the screen identifies it as an EHF band signal between 405-430.004 MHz, which is incorrect. EHF stands for Extremely High Frequency, the EHF band encompasses radio frequencies ranging between 30-300 GHz. 405 MHz would be in the UHF (Ultra High Frequency) band, the UHF band consists of radio frequencies ranging between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz).

Getting high

An episode with two clear parts, "Nostos" fails in both accounts, but still delivers enough enjoyment to forgive it not going anywhere in particular.

First we get Slattery trying to escape, hurt, bleeding, and getting weaker by the second, the bad guys at his heels. A woman decides to help him, but also gives him a drink that makes him see strange stuff... and then his family. All the while, the Nathan James crew is trying to find him.

The episode tries to blend some character moments (Slattery's ghost family) and action. Unfortunately, it does not a good job in either account. The dream state in which Slattery falls is overlong and boring, and even a little bit cheesy. The action is still ho-hum (as in previous episodes), just shooting and extras falling all around for no particular reason. Maybe after the bad guys of the first three seasons (Russians, Americans or Chinese & Japanese), the Greeks don't look as much as a threat as the ones that came before. On top of that, the show is not giving any time for the characters and Burk, Green and the others have turned into cut out cardboard soldiers with no life in them.

"The Last Ship" is in danger of sinking (cough sorry cough).
