Iris, a photographer, and Willem, a lawyer, meet at an exhibition of her work. The attraction is immediate. But they are both married; Iris to state prosecutor Pepijn, and Willem to Elsie, the daughter of a dubious real estate tycoon.
Iris tries to suppress her feelings for Willem after their first tryst. When she arrives home, she finds out her husband has been assigned to a case that involves Willem.
After one last meeting, Iris tells Willem that they must stop meeting. She tells him her husband is the head of the investigation into his father-in-law.
Pepijn confronts Iris about the affair. She promises to break it off with Willem. Pepijn tells his boss about what he discovered but wants to stay on investigating the case against Couwenberg.
Huub and Elsie each received anonymous notes exposing Iris and Willem. Pepijn and Elsie try to manipulate their spouses to return home and make their marriages work.
Willem tries to resign from working for Huub, but Huub will not let him go easily - a deal is made. Iris talks to a lawyer about custody of her son. The police try to crack Bjorn's silence.
