I saw this movie at the Guadalajara Film Festival. The film is based on several characters story through life, while showing on screen their own moments when they feel misplaced in this world, "Misfits", trying to represent a feeling that most of us have felt before.
But, why should individuals adapt to an environment that does not necessarily fulfill their expectancies? Suddenly, I recall the theory of the Spiral of Silence by Elizabeth Noelle-Neumann, which talks about public opinion as controller of a society; where individuals adapt their behaviors according to the status quo established by society itself, which most of the times, dictates the difference between the good or the bad according to stereotypes.
I believe this story encourages us to go ahead and live life however we want ignoring the feeling of misplacement. These incredible characters represent the voice of all the misfits out there in the real word.
The film takes the audience to experience something similar to a roller-coaster of emotions; it conducts us through a journey of comedy, drama and leads at the very end to reflection.
I also had the great opportunity to meet the people behind this production. It is an incredible team formed by truly valuable people with great initiative. People who decided to take action in order to express to the world what they needed to say, instead of waiting for the opportunity to come to them. Such thing is what turns them into great fascinating misfits.
