When my wife insisted that she wanted to watch this show with me, I was very skeptical and ready to dismiss it. All it took was 2 episodes and we were hooked beyond anything and bawling our eyes out.
We all love an underdog story, and we knew this was going to be one. But the reason this story elevates above others is its ability to evoke powerful emotions, its unpredictability and its deep character development. There is not a single good or bad character. Every character has their own motivation behind their action. That to me is the mark of great writing.
And little Bojji... I just smile when I see him and his partner in crime on screen. I am reminded that so many people treat all "disabled" people as helpless. They either show pity or just condescend them. Treat them as regular humans and maybe that will bring out the best in them.
Apart from that, there are a lot of references to Game of Thrones and many fairy tales that the writers have snuck into the show in many humorous ways. Overall, this is a very very solid anime and I can't wait to see how it ends!
