When my wife insisted that she wanted to watch this show with me, I was very skeptical and ready to dismiss it. All it took was 2 episodes and we were hooked beyond anything and bawling our eyes out.
We all love an underdog story, and we knew this was going to be one. But the reason this story elevates above others is its ability to evoke powerful emotions, its unpredictability and its deep character development. There is not a single good or bad character. Every character has their own motivation behind their action. That to me is the mark of great writing.
And little Bojji... I just smile when I see him and his partner in crime on screen. I am reminded that so many people treat all "disabled" people as helpless. They either show pity or just condescend them. Treat them as regular humans and maybe that will bring out the best in them.
Apart from that, there are a lot of references to Game of Thrones and many fairy tales that the writers have snuck into the show in many humorous ways. Overall, this is a very very solid anime and I can't wait to see how it ends!

When you first see the poster, it seems like another childish/crybaby anime, but dammnnn, i was so much hooked to this anime within the 10 minutes of its starting. I just can't wait to see the entire story.

Loved the vibe, the story, the dialogue and the draw. Great work by everyone and the story itself is just very good that you will have a mix of feelings in every second of the anime.

Very very beautiful anime, with lots of elements and dimensions in characters, and best of all is how realistic the story feels...hats of to its creators and author...

Like almost everyone i know said, that this anime is heartwarming, wholesome, sad, and fun to watch, the visual remember me about an old anime 80-90 vibe with ghibli atmosphere, would like to enjoy it until the last episode for this season.

The hero of the story is handicapped and as a result the plot at times seems rather artificial and improbable. Nonetheless, I really liked the anime during the first few episodes and found it entertaining and sometimes heartwarming. But from about episode 11 everything boils down to a big fight that pushes the other plot elements into the background. The fights themselves seem strange - I'm generally not a fan of fights, but there are some anime where I find the fights exciting and entertaining. The fighting in this anime lacks that certain something - it just makes me bored. I stopped at the beginning of episode 14 because the anime didn't arouse any more emotions in me and I lost all interest in it.

It's everything you would want in an anime. Every episode peaks my interest unlike some new anime I have watched so far. It deserves the hype it's getting and I hope people will not ignore it because of how the animation looks. You will not waste your time watching this anime.
By the way Boji is my favorite character so far. He's cute and kind and I want to protect him so bad.

Such lovely main character developed in this animated movie. King boji is such a lovely, cute and kind character who can make you happy in one movement and cry in the next.

Well crafted story of Bojji. The animation is a masterpiece as its from The Wit Studio who made best anime Attack on Titan's first three seasons. Fluid animation.
The emotion is OMG, so good that made even me emotional. This is the best anime I have seen in 2021 and I can bet this shall only get better.
Even the English dub is good.

I gave this a try thinking it would be more of a kids show and on the boring side. I was wrong. This show is great and a lot of fun to watch. Great animation and so far (4 episodes in) the story is very captivating.

I was also one of the people who refused to watch it because of the drawing thinking that it would be for children but I was so wrong. I hope this anime gets more attention so they would make season 2 or a movie.

Fine to watch when there is nothing else, but otherwise nothing special. Same old fillers, same old protagonists super good person/hero troops, "who looks weak bit actually strong", evil characters who look weak but else good, and vice versa, too much piano in the bushes trick, over the top emotional speaches etc. In other words meh.

The story is interesting, the characters have a deepness not a lot of characters have, the plot twists are suprising and the animation is beautiful. I seriously love it.

Seriously the first 11 episodes are just great. Nice story, cool characters, great dynamic animation, beautiful background paintings, fast paced gripping story that makes You want more and more!
Then...something happens. The animation declines rapidly. If you can call it animation. It's more of a slide show in some episodes.
Also the directions is just bad and the composition of the shots. Did they switch directors and storyboard artists?
Backgrounds become boring and lame. The story stops all momentum and development for a couple of episodes. When there's any story happening than it's just people talking in static scenes.
I cannot explain what happened other than that they poured their heart and soul into the first 11 episodes. And also a lot of talent and money. Then a production company took over and cut down all the costs on creatives to milk the rest.
I hope it gets better.
It deserves better.

A couple of reviewers that, judging by the date their reviews were written versus the airing dates of the episodes, judge this little series to be a simple and childish tear-jerker, should have probably stuck around a little longer to actually give the show a chance to shine.
Because, having just finished all 11 episodes currently out, it really does shine. The first two episodes do indeed come across as slightly formulaic and simplistic sob stories (though necessary to explain the actions and motivations of our two main characters), but then the show takes a sharp turn towards political intrigue and thick, swiftly-paced, plot-heavy storytelling.
A simple underdog/rise-to-power shounen plot evolves into a complex chess-board of feudal power plays featuring a large number of independent players, and many characters who initially seem to fit trite and well-trodden stereotypes turn out to not be that at all. There is no simple black and white morality here - except perhaps for our protagonist, who is a pure cinammon roll. Characters have complex motivations, contradictory feelings, regrets, secrets.
The animation, seemingly simple as it is, permits examplary fluidity and expressiveness. Instead of reserving "sakuga" (effort-dense, impressive, highly fluid animation style) only for combat, here you get sakuga of crying, sakuga of hopping about, sakuga of someone collapsing in despair. I will take this unique, interesting and fluid style over the jittery mouth-flapping 3-d models that are becoming the norm in the anime industry any day. The sound and music is good, too - though nothing astonishing, on the level of, let's say, Made in Abyss.
As a mother myself, I was also very happy to see complex and well-written mother characters, that are neither the one-dimensional "good parent" curdboard cut-out, or the evil shrill hag, but human beings with their own complex thoughts, emotions, secrets and agency. What a rare treat.
Lastly, with the protagonist being disabled (abnormally low muscle tone, deaf and mute, and heavily coded as autistic though that is not outright stated) there could have been a lot there to make me cringe. Either romanticizing the disabilities, or magically curing them, or pretending that life wouldn't be hard for one who has them, or going for cheap inspirational "just try very hard and it will be fine". Despite a touch of that last one, the series actually handles disability surprisingly well, though - showing both moments of despair and triumph, discrimination and understanding, extreme protectiveness and extreme faith, and gracefully landing somewhere in the middle overall. A disability is a very real and often immovable obstacle, but it's also neither a tragedy, nor does it subtract from one's worth.
I remove a star for the slightly heavy-handed, simplistic tear-jerking of the first two episodes, but have nothing else to criticize, really. Hooked, and waiting for more.

This caught me by surprise in the greatest of ways!
I'm on ep 14 and I caught myself I guess thinking negative thoughts of eh it's kiddy or maybe this will drag into a great uphill battle for power dynamic I've seen before blah blah" typical for me I watch a lot of shows and try not to waist time too long.... However this show caught me from ep 1 and has risen above anything I could have imagined !
This show has touched every emotional spectrum in my soul Ive cried several times it's unbelievably touching and the love and hate characters feel, really feels real. The characters animation and suttle nuisances that are displayed it feels like a Disney movie made for adults in a heartbreaking relatable underdog who should be king dynamic and I truly cant think of more great things to say this has truly effected me in the best ways! Greatfull there's ppl out there that can make something like this.
