Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Stacey has been dancing
since the age of three. Her mother Shelley Tookey has had her own dance
studio in Canada for over 40 years. Through her teens she competed in
dance all over Canada. Stacey represented her country at the Adeline
Genee awards in London, England. At 19 she left home and ventured to
Vancouver where she danced with Ballet British Columbia, Fusion Dance
Company, worked with then up and comer Michael Buble' and was a member
of the N.B.A.'s "Grizzlies Extreme Dance Team". Eventually Stacey made
her way to New York City. She was quickly noticed and became one of Mia
Michaels assistants and danced as a member of her company R.A.W. She
has worked on projects with Bette Midler and danced with Parsons Dance
Project in Seoul, Korea. She was assistant choreographer of "A Few Good
Men Dancin" on Broadway. In 2002, Stacey relocated to Las Vegas,
Nevada where she was an original cast member for the entire 5 year run
of Celine Dion's show "A New Day" at Caesars Palace. Soon after she
discovered that the hit show So You Think You Can Dance was coming to
Canada. She was hired to choreograph on the show which lead to her
appearances on the U.S. version of the show.
