A new season of Chicago Med has arrived and it’s another season of change. Right out of the gate, season 10 of NBC’s hit medical drama brings about several key changes to the cast of the show with cast shakeups that bring about the exit of a longtime member of the cast, while welcoming a few new faces to the mix as well.
Recent seasons of Chicago Med have seen a lot of cast turnovers with the show’s revolving door seeing many characters come and go in recent years. This season is no different, with the show’s tenth season continuing to keep fans on their toes with changes to the cast. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a good number of familiar faces back again this season!

Big swings can make for big misses, and that’s the situation writer-director Quinn Shephard’s internet satire-screed “Not Okay” finds itself in, lining up all kinds of juicy targets regarding fame and shame in our social media age, but proving not so discerning about character, humor, and story when it comes to following-through.
Starring Zoey Deutch as a wannabe influencer with a cringey ploy for viral notoriety, this queasy, ambitious whiff will hopefully prove to be just a sophomore slump for filmmaker Shephard, whose multi-hyphenate 2017 feature debut “Blame” promised much from its coiled, clinical, near-noirish take on sexual jealousy in high school.

Danni Sanders, the transparently needy protagonist of Not Okay, has goals, but no real grasp of the work they require. They’re more like impatient expectations set to the warp-speed time frame of texting. Her burning aspiration is to be a writer — i.e., someone who’s famous and has lots of followers — a goal that turns into a reality as the result of a bit of attention-hungry social media fakery that she compounds with heinous lies. But as awful as she is, she’s also sweet; without pushing it or insisting that we like her, Zoey Deutch, an actor with considerable comic chops and charisma, finds the vulnerability beneath Danni’s bluster. And so even though we know, in the movie’s opening moments, that she’s headed for a fall, the film percolates with the dread that this will be the...

Aspiring journalist Danni Sanders (Zoey Deutch), the insecure villain at the center of writer-director Quinn Shephard’s scattershot comedy “Not Okay,” dresses the part of a contemporary Gloria Steinem, poaching the activist’s oversized glasses and face-framing blond streaks while adding her own modern accessories: rainbow-colored nails and jewelry, with a decked-out smartphone glued to her hand. The look screams for attention. The problem is, even if Danni could manage to get noticed at her hyper-cool and competitive magazine, she’s got nothing valuable to say.
When Steinem was at this age in her career, she hustled to write an exposé of the inner workings of the Playboy Club. Danni believes, somewhat accurately, that today’s readers are more interested in writers who expose their own traumas. Alas, she doesn’t have any. The upper-middle-class Manhattanite whines to her editor (Negin Farsad) that she even had the lousy luck to...

"Be careful what you f*!#g wish for." Searchlight Pictures has revealed the initial teaser trailer for an indie film titled Not Okay, a cautionary tale about social media fame and fortune. Written and directed by actress Quinn Shephard (who also directed Blame a few years back), the film stars Zoey Deutch as Danni, who, as she says in this trailer, wants to be "noticed so badly" that she goes too far trying to get attention. A misguided young woman, desperate for friends and fame, fakes a trip to Paris to update her social media presence. A terrifying incident takes place in the real world which becomes a part of the imaginary trip and offers all she wanted. This trailer reveals terrorist attacks in Paris are what she pretends to have survived. Eeesh, definitely "not okay." Deutch stars with Dylan O'Brien, Mia Isaac, Embeth Davidtz, Brennan Brown, Karan Soni, and Sarah Yarkin.

Epatha Merkerson) VasCom investigation on his mind (after she’d told him to put it on hold); Dr. Stevie Hammer (Kristin Hager) and Dr. Vanessa Taylor (Asjha Cooper) are both trying to keep secrets; and among the patients are a four-month-old as well as a man who needs a liver transplant, which has Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains), Dr. Pamela Blake (Sarah Rafferty), and Abrams working together. Frolov and Schneider hint at what to expect, reveal when Dr. Ethan Choi...

The apocalyptic anxiety of our present sociopolitical moment is the not-so-hidden undergirding of Alistair Banks Griffin’s psychodrama “The Wolf Hour,” in which Naomi Watts plays June Leigh, a fearful author who’s isolated herself from the outside world by holing up in her fifth-floor South Bronx walk-up.
But it’s not 2019, when even the most dedicated of hermits can feel connected to others through the Internet. Griffin’s analog setting is the summer of 1977, when New York’s then-notorious version of urban decay had segments of the city ready to ignite, while a steady stream of news about “The .44 Caliber Killer” — a female-targeting serial murderer soon to be known as “Son of Sam” — had single women on edge, especially those with long, dark hair, like June’s.
But despite a typically committed performance by Watts, once again showing her special affinity for hard-edged sufferers grinding out a way to survive,...

Shooting took place in November of 2017 on Alistair Banks Griffin‘s sophomore feature and a cast of Naomi Watts, Jennifer Ehle, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Emory Cohen, Brennan Brown and Jeremy Bobb to boot. The Wolf Hour was at Sundance’s 2016 January Screenwriters Lab. Griffin reteams with composers Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans – who got their first ever composing gig in film via Griffin’s Cannes preemed directorial debut, Two Gates of Sleep.
Gist: Naomi Watts plays a former 60’s activist, a celebrated counter-culture figure who now lives alone in her Bronx apartment and who has barely left her six-story walk up in years, becomes unraveled when an unseen tormentor begins harassing her as the events of the 1977 New York blackout riots unfold outside her window.…...

Ferreira is Brad Bellows, the leader of the D.C. Resistance cell. Years of survival in the resistance means he doesn’t trust easily, and he is suspicious of Juliana Crain.
Shinkoda portrays Kazu Suzuki, the very distinguished Royal Secretary to the Crown Princess.

This review is spoiler-free for The Man in the High Castle season 3.
With the last few episodes of the previous season going a bit off the rails, some fans might worry that The Man in the High Castle season 3 will feature more crazy conspiracies with many characters not always acting like themselves. Fortunately, that is not the case with Amazon’s newest batch of ten episodes, all of which will be released on October 5, 2018. Viewers may have had to wait a bit longer for this new season, but with new explorations into the meaning behind the mysterious films and deeply felt emotional arcs for many of the characters, it will have been worth the wait.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 2, Episode 7, “Part VII” and theories about the upcoming finale.]
Just like last year, “The Sinner” spent its penultimate episode of the season in a lengthy flashback to reveal answers to many of the questions that had been spun out from the beginning. “Part VII” revealed that not only was Marin (Hannah Gross) still alive, but that she was indirectly responsible for the mess everybody is currently in, including her son Julian (Elisha Henig) poisoning two Mosswood members with tea brewed with Jimsonweed.
The revelations actually begin a few days prior to Julian’s fateful act. While Marin has left her son behind to be raised at Mosswood, in the intervening years she tried and often failed to deal with some of her issues, whether it meant taking drugs, going into rehab, or finding religion. When she had finally gotten what peace she can, she returns to Mosswood not to do “the work,...

‘The Sinner’ Boss Breaks Down Vera’s Daring Ploy, the Hooded Figure, and the Dangers of Drinking Tea
[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 2, Episode 6, “Part VI.”]
Serving tea appears to be a family tradition on “The Sinner” this season. Julian Walker (Elisha Henig) gave his poisonous brew to two former Mosswood acolytes who supposedly kidnapped him, and on Wednesday’s episode, it’s revealed that his mother Vera (Carrie Coon) also served tea to the commune leader known as The Beacon (Brennan Brown) as an apology.
Of course, having set a precedent for toxic tea in the premiere, “The Sinner” has taught its viewers to view any steeped hot drink with suspicion. If this is the case, that means Vera assassinated the Beacon and took his place. But only the viewers know about the tea having seen it in the flashback. In her confession to Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman), she merely says, “He was unhappy for a long time; one day he left us.”

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Sinner” Season 2, Episode 5, “Part V.”]
Mosswood has never felt like the sanctuary that it’s purported to be, but “The Sinner” introduced its most disturbing revelations about the commune yet on Wednesday’s episode.
In flashbacks, Mosswood leader Lionel Jeffries (Brennan Brown), aka The Beacon, presented the concept of scapegoating to Vera Walker (Carrie Coon) in the form of a calf. By raising the calf lovingly, naming it, but then putting all of one’s negative emotions on it, a bond would be created. And then the Mosswood members would kill the calf, thereby symbolically eradicating those emotions in a supposedly healthy way. While sacrificing animals is already a troublesome subject, how the episode ends hints that something worse may lay ahead when the Beacon allows young Marin (Hannah Gross) to remain pregnant, despite previously banning members from having children.

Turns out, it’s also one of the hardest parts of filming the show, as well.

Sorry, Gregory House: There’s a new cranky TV doctor in town, and he’s coming to "Chicago Med."
Brennan Brown (Beauty and the Beast, Person of Interest) will recur on NBC’s upcoming Chicago Fire offshoot, TVLine has learned exclusively.
He will play Dr. Sam Abrams, a cantankerous, irritable but brilliant neurosurgeon. Per the official character description, he has “no patience for young, cocky, privileged, hot-headed doctors who lack his old-school work ethic. Though his bedside manner is lacking, his surgical skills make up for his astringent attitude.”

Mozart In The Jungle‘s Brennan Brown has joined the cast of another Amazon series, upcoming drama The Man In The High Castle, written and executive produced by Frank Spotnitz. Based on the novel by Phillip K. Dick, the series is set in an alternate version of the early 1960s in which the Axis powers won World War II. The novel revolved around a group of people connected to one another by an in-universe alternate-history novel that tells of the Allies winning the war…...

'Focus' movie: Will Smith has third weakest weekend box-office debut of his career (photo: Will Smith in 'Focus') According to those referred to in polite society as "conservatives," winter storms and freezing temperatures are evidence that there's no such thing as global warming. Let's not even go there. Instead, let's focus (bad pun intended) on the Focus movie starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie as a con couple, which opened below expectations – with wintery weather as a possible culprit – in North America this weekend, February 27-March 1, 2015. According to box-office tracking, as late as a couple of days ago Warner Bros.' modestly budgeted Focus was expected to take in between $22-24 million. Barring a miracle akin to a sudden halt to rising ocean temperatures (pardon the hyperbole), that's not about to happen. Now, before I proceed: "modestly budgeted"? Well, for a Will Smith movie, $50 million – after...

After treating cinema fans for more than a decade, Ee's 2-for-1 ticket offer is coming to an end today (February 25). We'll certainly miss breaking up the week with a cut-price cinema visit, and the end of the promotion has made us all nostalgic about the classic Orange Wednesdays ads that started it all off.
Dubbed 'Orange Gold Spots', they starred Brennan Brown and Steve Furst as two clueless film execs listening to pitches from some of Hollywood's finest. Brilliantly lampooning the bean counter thinking of studio suits and the fragile creative egos of A-listers, the likes of Patrick Swayze, Macaulay Culkin and Carrie Fisher all stepped up to offer their increasingly compromised film pitches:
1. A Clockwork Orange
This early offering sought to capture that creative moment when the lightbulb flicks on... unfortunately Brown's dim-witted exec can't quite grasp what's dangling right in front of him. Stanley Kubrick would be livid.

Ee's 2-for-1 cinema ticket offer will take its final bow next year.
The popular deal - previously known by the name 'Orange Wednesdays' before Orange and T-Mobile's merger - will come to an end on February 25, 2015, Ee has announced.
"In early 2015, 2-for-1 cinema tickets will be coming to an end. It means Wednesday 25 February will be our last day for 2 for 1 cinema tickets and our PizzaExpress offer," said the firm on its official website.
"Until then, get your film guides out and make the most of Wednesday night trips to the cinema this winter."
The company has also promised an "exciting new offer" exclusive to Ee customers in 2015.
The Orange Wednesdays promotion was originally launched in 2003.
At the time, the mobile phone firm also invested in 'Orange Gold Spots' at cinemas which showed a host of Hollywood stars - from Patrick Swayze to Carrie Fisher - pitching movies to the...
