And just like that...I'm done with the first book of the year! Glad to say that we're off to a good start!!

This book is literally GIDDY!
Like... there is even a line where the protagonist says "I do a wiggly little dance"
I mean... this book is trying to have way too much fun, as if the whole book is a little high

Why is the author seemingly inclined to get cheap laughs out of readers?
First the pun about tubes in his bum and penis and now the joke about him liking kids?
Kinda feels forced, doesn't it?

This reads a lot like a YA novel (no disrespect intended) when I thought I was getting into an adult Sci-Fi.
Infact this is tagged as adult on GR too, was that incorrect?

And at long last, after 15 books & 11909 pages, we come to the end of this GARGANTUAN series

Padan Fain suddenly makes an appearance again after, I believe, 2 full books or more and apparently he has not become an amalgamation of the Dagger, Mashadar and himself. He is capable of supernatural feats, from torturing Myrddraal to summoning a fog that kills all living things?

Darkhounds called Wild Hunt, that can't be killed by any mortal weapons are suddenly brought in, and I am left asking if this was an option why did the Shadow not start the fight with them bcz clearly they tilt the scales!

Also, Elayne captured, yet again. Like...just how many times would it be alright for these main ladies to be captured and abducted? It has gotten really old!!

In the span of last 35 odd pages, 3 major characters have fallen. All three deaths have been delivered in such a bland fashion, lacking any impact whatsoever! I just don't know why it was handled the way it was.

Pevara & Androl, along with 3 other channelers, under disguise, come face to face with Demandred and he seems to be fooled by their disguise. And yet they never try to kill him, either physically or via channeling!!

Pg #765 marks the 1st main character death. Sad, but delivered in an utterly non-impactful way. Not to mention coming too late considering we've been following the Last Battle for over 500 pages now.

As it stands, I sadly would like to remark that so far this series is not worth it. And as I have been saying for ages, it is too late for redemption.

Finally my criticism of not utilizing Forsaken properly gets acknowledged, albeit indirectly. Demandred alone is causing damage enough that the Last Battle is on the verge of being lost. Imagine the havoc Forsaken would've wreaked together. There would be no Battle, just a massacre.

I'd like to pause and remark upon the fact that it isn't too often that you reach page #700 in a book a still have 300+ pages left before the ending.

For the first time since this series began, we're being told of a "full circle" that involves 72 f*cking channellers linked together. Why has that never been used so far in this series?

The chapter opens as if finally giving us the sequence of Rand vs Dark One, the true Last Battle, that we've all been waiting for but in just one paragraph it changes POV!!!!!!
HOW IS THIS OKAY????

We get only a few fleeting moments with Rand before he walks into the Pit of Doom & we don't see him anymore. For over 400 pages straight you get to read about the different Battlefronts & endless Trollocs being killed!
If this doesn't bother you, I don't even know what to say bcz God dayum man, Rand the protagonist is fighting the big bad antagonist & we barely see him? It's fucked up is what it really is, alright?

Straight up 350+ pages of Trollocs being butchered with a sprinkle of Sharan forces vs Seanchan forces is supposed to he somehow "action packed"?

So far we've accounted for just 3 Forsaken. Moridin in the Pit of Doom, Graendal bending minds and Demandred leading the Sharans. Lanfear is clearly sitting it out.
What about the rest of them? Where are the spearheads of the Dark One?

Start of the book I remarked upon Black Tower story arc being ridiculously behind the curve and here we are, halfway done with the final book, smack dab in the middle of Last Battle and the Black Tower hasn't even JOINED the fray!!!! This is late beyond the point of being salvageable.

Pg #526, so Hessalam aka Graendal is bending the minds & sabotaging the war efforts of mankind. Doesn't that feel a little too passive and underwhelming?
As in, how long will these Forsaken keep operating from sidelines?

I gotta admit that Jordan is an absolute master of creating plot armors! He insulates his characters & plots from problems in such overt fashion with sweeping declarations. It's absolutely genius and at the same time, it does get slightly annoying over the course of such a lengthy journey.
