How many times when I was reading this book, did I sigh and think to myself, you've got to be kidding. The judge did what? The police hid that evidence? That expert witness wasn't really an expert? Did the jail snitch get a deal? Of course he/she did ...more | |
"In a way, everything Didion wrote led to this book. I think it's one of her best and I sort of consider it the end of the trail, even though her biggest publishing success ("The Year of Magical Thinking") was just around the corner. This is Didion's "
