message 12: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 1160 comments Lovely coincidence isn't it? I am just too happy that we are on the same team again! And I consider it 3 because you are still a Raven for me, even if you aren't there! :)

message 13: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Yes, of course :-) while The Badgers are my new loves I will always love my Ravens ;-) and on that note, hi to Ashley as well!

Renee (reneeconoulty) | 3309 comments **whispers**
I had a look at the team spreadsheet, and there seems to be a spell it out word pre entered there.......a bit of strategic planning....anyone have a yellow cover or books towards spelling out Dandelion?

message 16: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 1160 comments *whispers back*

I have a yellow cover book as well as books to match letters O, A, I, L.

Although the yellow cover doesn't spell out Dandelion.

message 17: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Can you remind me what we can use for the spell outs? I for sure have an O for title.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Hi Everyone!! *waves*

Renee!! Nice to see a familiar face :)

I have a few yellow covers, but only two that might work:

Crushed (Soul Eater, #2) by Eliza Crewe by Eliza Crewe or Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto that has a character Ivy. Not sure if there is enough yellow in the first one though?

looking forward to getting to know you all :)

message 21: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1778 comments Hi everyone great to see familiar faces here

Are covers 50% or more color?

just titles for spell out or do names count?

will start looking to see what i have

message 22: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Hi Emma and Rosina!!

message 23: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1778 comments Hey Greta finally on a team with you. Keep bumping into you on here.

message 24: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments I know, exactly :-)

message 25: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1778 comments here is the stuff about the spell out

Spell out the word(s) using the first letter in the book's title, the first letter in the author's first or last name, or the first letter of a character's first, last, or nick-name, or the first letter of the series name. As always, if the first letter of a title starts with an indefinite or definite article ('A', 'An', 'The', etc.), you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word. If you are listening to an audiobook, the first letter in the narrator's first or last name also can be used

and the covers have to be 50% or more of the color

♦Ashley♦ (ascherger12gmailcom) | 1131 comments Here's a cheat sheet I made for myself to keep everything straight:

Books must be >160 pages

Points Cheat Sheet
Books <500 pages: 10
Books >500 pages: 20
Completion: 15
One member reading a cover of color (at least 50%): 30
BOM DQ (limit 1 per team): 20

Rereading color: same points, but no additional completion points

Spell outs Cheat Sheet
Book Title
Author's first or last name
Characters first name, last name or nickname
First of a series name
Audio - first or last name of narrator

Colors (view spoiler)

message 27: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I started reading a book in the last couple of days - Darkhouse which fits the D (both title and character). I am about a third of the way through. Is it ok to stop reading it now and restart on the 22nd so that I finish it during the challenge week or must I have started it on or after the 22nd?

message 28: by ♦Ashley♦ (new)

♦Ashley♦ (ascherger12gmailcom) | 1131 comments The rules say it doesn't matter when you start the book, as long as you finish it for the week we are on.

message 29: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1778 comments hi Ashley thanks for cheat sheet for you know does the spell out run for a week only

message 30: by Renee (new)

I believe so, then the next week they will spin again and we'll start a new one.

message 36: by Renee (new)

Renee (reneeconoulty) | 3309 comments We have a head start on the word for week one. Each week the wheel will be spun again and each team will get a new word. If you have a look at the second page on the spreadsheet, there is a list of all the possible words.
