Hello my UNO lovelies!
UNO can be tracked in one of two ways, which ever is easier for you is fine with us!
First: In the post above there is a tracking spreadsheet where you enter all the information for the book being read or completed. We will pull from this spreadsheet to complete our team spreadsheet.
Second: You can post a completion post (sample below) and either myself or Patti will grab the information and put it into the spreadsheets.
It is entirely up to you to choose which method works best for you! :)
Completion Post Sample
Book cover
Book: Title + Author
Date Read:
Rating: (optional)
Add verified word count where applicable:
Cards the book works for:
- Number: Character (name + surname)
- Number: #... in series
- and so forth
Please add name and surname for characters every time, no matter which part works for the card.
Please add ALL possibilities for every book you complete in case we have to switch things around. (This will most likely not be necessary for colour cards.)

Hello and Welcome to Team Gertrude Hunt Inn
It is finally that time of the year again....UNO IS FINALLY HERE
For those of you who are new to this challenge, do not worry. It may look like it is a lot to take in at first sight, but you'll see that it is a very easy game. It merely involves some crazy colors and keeping an eye on character names while reading.
I am your captain this year. I have co-captained for two years and this is my first year as a full captain and I couldn't be more excited! I am from the panhandle of Florida, and live here with my husband, two kids, sister and her kid, 4 dogs, and 3 cats (it's kind of a zoo)! I work two jobs - one being at Barnes and Noble, so I am CONSTANTLY buying new books :D I spend a lot of my time playing with my kids, sweeping up pet hair, and reading! :)
I am not sure about you, but I've read Clean Sweep which is how we gained our wonderful team name, and it was amazing! Has anyone else read it?
First things first though!
Please read the RULES. Yes, I know, it involves reading. The horror!! ;-) If you're uncertain, it usually helps to go over them again. And then have a look at the spreadsheet to make it all more visual. And if you still have questions, I am all ears!
When you arrive in the thread, please post a link to your Uno shelf!
Most important of all: HAVE FUN!

Perky House Decorating! March Mini Challenge
This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. You've built the house of your dreams, now it is time to decorate it!!
◈ You can mix and match from the below task options, whatever you choose is a maximum of 45 tasks (i.e. books read).

◈ Each book read can only be used for one task.
◈ If you complete all your decorations (45 tasks), your team will receive 30 bonus points.
1. Paint the walls
◈ Read books with one of the below colours as the:
>Cover of the book ; 15 points each ; or
>Colour of text on cover ; 10 points each; or
>Colour word found in text ; 5 points each.
Colours to choose from:
Orange
Purple
Pink
Black
White
Brown
Grey
2. Hang some paintings - 15 points each
◈ Read books where the cover could be a classical painting (no need to get mod approval, but if you need inspiration on what is classical, here is a good guide: https://www.toperfect.com/Classical-P...).
◈ Read books where the cover could be a Fantasy painting (as above, no approval required, but this is a good guide: https://www.toperfect.com/Fantasy-Pai...)
3. Showcase your fancy travel souvenirs - 10 points each
◈ Read books set in any real country except Canada, USA, England, Australia and New Zealand.
(to be clear, absolutely no part of the book can be set in these 5 countries, and the setting must be a country on planet Earth and not a fictional/fantasy country)
4. Swap some flower cuttings with your neighbour - double the card points value (for example, 40 points instead of the 20 points for a 0-9 card, or 60 points instead of 30 for a 0-9 coloured card)
◈ Use any 6 card in your March hands for X instead of S
◈ Use any 2 card in your March hands for W instead of T

Hi team! I'm Patti and I'm your co-captain! I'm excited for UNO and have played before but never co-captain, so hopefully I won't mess anything up!
I live in Eastern Florida, USA with my husband and my fur baby Lizzi. I love to read -- pretty much anything but non-fiction and Sci Fi , and I also spend a lot of time golfing.
My favorite books of 2021 were

Some of my favorites were:

And now it's later, haha. ;)
I'm Sarah, from the UK. I've been playing Uno since the very first one, which was also my first ever team challenge. Had many a year of happy challenges since!
I read a bit of everything, but probably the genre that I come back to the most is mystery. I'm least likely to read horror or romance, although that isn't guaranteed as I'm currently reading Lovecraft Country... (it's not scary, totally fine, more a cosy horror, which is a genre I've just invented, haha).

Hey team! I'm Tawni, based in Vienna, Austria. This is my… fourth (?) year playing, and I am so excited! (I get overly excited every year for the next UNO challenge.)
I'll read pretty much anything (except romance), but I usually default to classic literature. My all-time favorites are 1984, Pride and Prejudice, and Of Mice and Men. Some favorite (current) authors are Matt Haig, John Irving, and Jonas Jonasson.
However!, I have a goal this year to diversify my Read list, and will be using this book to guide me: . My goal is to read AT LEAST twelve books from minority or marginalized writers this year.

Captains - question about the tracking spreadsheet. Should it be set up so we can access it freely, or do you want us to ask you for access? I'm getting an Access Denied message when I click on the link right now.
Whichever way you prefer, but I didn't want to start spamming you if it wasn't meant to be private. :)

Hey y'all, I'm Naomi from Oregon (PST). This is my first time playing UNO, but I've played in several other challenges on Goodreads. I'm excited to play something new. I read pretty much everything, but horror. I enjoy romance of any variety. I've been working from home quite a bit and when I'm not taking phone calls I enjoy listening to audiobooks as well as reading after work. It's winter here, so doing quite a bit of staying indoors.

Hello Everyone!! My name is Cynthia and I am from Spain. I have participated in a few challenges but this is my first time playing UNO. I am excited to start as many people has recommended it to me!
I have slowed down a little bit on my reading since I started a new job in November. I LOVE LOVE fantasy. I read a lot of romance but lately, I am feeling a bit picky so I have reduced my TBR quite a lot for this genre. Also, I used to read lots of mysteries many years ago and I have started reading a little bit more of that. I also like to read some classics from time to time.
If I look back at 2021, these are my favorite reads:
(the hardcover version is wonderful!)
And my Harry Potter re-read!
I have not read so that's going to my list :)
My goal for 2022 is to finish all my ongoing series (fingers crossed!)

Okay, I think I was able to change it to anyone can access as long as they have the link. If you have any difficulties let me know.

I could pick one of the Blue ones with this one. It works for both 4 (MC Feyre) and 6 (author Sarah).

Thanks Mary! All seems to be working now.
I had a few green cover books I've been putting off for uno, so the first thing I did was check out our coloured cards to see if I could read them in Feb. Alas they will have to wait a bit longer!
I can take one of the 3 Yellows, I have a couple of library possibilities there. I'll see what everyone else wants to read and I'm sure I can fill in any gaps. Hoarding colour covers does get to be a habit... ;)
Thanks Mary! All seems to be working now.
I had a few green cover books I've been putting off for uno, so the first thing I did was check out our coloured cards to see if I could read them in Feb. Alas they will have to wait a bit longer!

Hi Mary! I have requested editing rights in the team tracking spreadsheet to be able to update my books. I could see it but not edit it.

Alright! I'll put that under Blue 6 for now. If we need to move it to the 4 we always can! :)

I think I can cover one of the yellow 3's as well! I actually organized my library by color so UNO would be easier... haha!
