Never too Late to Read Classics discussion

NTLTRC here we come again! We can reach it this year! we are going to try and reach a Classic Page Goal Challenge for the Group reading 700,000 pages in a year!
I hope we surpass it this year!! 📘📚📗

How It Works:
Any Member may join this challenge.

What is required:
1. A Classic you’ve recently finished reading (Name & Author)
2. The page count of the Classic you read
3. Book Cover (If you like to share)
4. Add the total Pages of your Classic to get a Group Page Total.

No book count is necessary just a page count please!

Example

But is an Agatha Christie Mystery considered a classic for this challenge?

That's a good question, Steve. You can use any book published for the first time before 1973, so you can use most of her books for the challenge.
Vintage mysteries are popular with many members of this group.

Are we not moving to 1972 now that it's 2022, or am I mixed up by a year here? (I had thought it was 1971 last year, but perhaps not.)

It depends on the version. Some of them are too new, so make sure it's a version originally translated before 1973.
You can do individual books too, as long as they're old enough and you have an accurate page count.
