Ayyy I missed this series!! What a great beginning, I remembered enough from book 1 to easily understand what was happening and now I’m super pumped to continue the book.
Poor Helene, she’s honestly experiencing the most hell out of all the characters, the poor sweetheart has had so many random riddles thrown at her and now she’s supposed to be hunting down Elias? That’s tough. But at least she has her two friends, and I’m definitely getting vibes that Harper will be an important character… I’m curious to see where that goes.
And oh no, poor Elias!!! Poisoned by his own mother, surely they’ll find a cure? It’s not looking good, but I’m really glad he told Laia about the poison and didn’t keep it a secret. They’re such a cute pair together, and Laia is so badass now, I’m honestly really impressed and I love her for it! But ugh, now Keenan has appeared, and honestly I don’t like that man that much haha. I appreciate everything he has done for Laia but I just don’t care about him!
And Cook?? Dang, she’s gone wild hahaha, I can’t wait to see what her deal is. It’s so cute she’s protecting Laia!
Can’t wait to continue :))

- [ ] Those Efrits are creepy as, I wonder who it was referring to by ‘he’

II Elias
- [ ] My gosh the Commandant is crazy
- [ ] Poor Elias, having to fight his way through soldiers he perhaps knew

III Laia
- [ ] How is she so fast? She found them so quickly! Might be the mind reading ability or the reaper she works for

IV Elias
- [ ] Of course his mother has a plan, even getting them to escape is part of her plan! She is ruthless

V Helene
- [ ] Poor Helene, she must have survives with Lieutenant Harper. But she is one strong willed girl
- [ ] But at what cost? Her father must have sacrificed something big and precious to him to have Marcus release her

VI Laia
- [ ] Coward, of course she used poison
- [ ] I love how Laia is taking control and even controlling the horse

VII Elias
- [ ] 3 to 6 months of seizures! Elias can’t die!

VIII Helene
- [ ] Yes of course Helene has to find Elias and kill him
- [ ] Marcus is so evil, but I pity him for the lost of his brother, who he murdered
- [ ] The reaper is a huge creep too

IX Laia
- [ ] Wow did she disappear! She may have powers like Helene as well
- [ ] Also I like her negotiation

X Elias
- [ ] Poor Elias, even his mother has robbed him of his joy, friends and even love
- [ ] But in a way, it is very brave and noble what he is doing for Laia and Darin

XI Helene
- [ ] Wait Cook is dead? How did I miss that. Maybe through her explosions she faked her death?
- [ ] Anyways, I hope Harper doesn’t give Helene a hard time, but I’m guessing he will
- [ ] I hope Helene will find peace in this journey as Cain said she will. Hopefully sets her mind free. Just don’t kill Elias please!

XII Laia
- [ ] Right of course it’s Keenan. To be honest kinda forgot about him hahaha
- [ ] I’m liking the first half, hoping things move faster soon

Hmm yes Harper does seem like an important person, we will see where his alliances lies. Although it would be awkward to be working with the person who you tortured !

Yeah! Really proud in Elias and how he didn’t keep it a secret! She deserves to know, but I hope things don’t get complicated for them. Like I know he is protecting her heart and his own but still! We all need company

Also Keenan got there so quickly! But yeah I also don’t care about him haha!

Can’t wait to read more :)

oh yes it would be SO AWKWARD to work with your torturer haha.

i definitely hope they decide to be with each other while they can, no relationship is promised for eternity, theirs just currently has a certain ending date.

i also kinda forgot about Keenan haha, but hopefully Izzy is there, she's a cutie :)
