Chapter 23

(view spoiler)[Where is Dorcas? Why did nobody look for her? What war did she mean? Women are genuinely pushed down in all the bloodlines. This is interesting. Let’s see what makes her unique enough to read it. Weird that no one ever came to know about this through so much time. Why didn’t Athena know? This is weird. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 25
(view spoiler)[Oh no, I’ve forgotten her dream. She had a dream she never told others. About the Fates. Damn what was it? Found it: ” Dreams were messages from Zeus. It was important she remembered everything. She saw the edge of a shield held firm in front of her, repelling the darkness. A wing made of golden light. Bright eyes reflected in the blade of a sword.” So it was about aegis after all. I’m also doubting Tidebringer’s death. Van’s source didn’t know about the correct time of the attack on Heartkeeper and maybe he was wrong about Tidebringer as well. Okay, so what did Lore mean when she said that after Wrath’s death, Athena would realize he didn’t have the aegis after all? What? Has it been stolen back? Is that what Lore did? What? Yeah, that was stupid to stay outside, lol, what did they expect? I would have probably enjoyed this more if I could trust Athena, I’m actually loving her the most! She had no cause to lift spirits here. I like her. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 26

I love her haha :) What does Reveler have against Lore? He is probably right about Athena though. How is it all pointless? Is death for the gods better? Or is there some way for the old gods? What did Apollo know? Surely, he wouldn’t have simply chosen to die, now would he? So who killed those people? This chapter ended too soon! Damn, I have so many questions! And I feel a bit clueless. Not gonna lie. I'm kinda forcing myself to finish them because I kinda want to be done with it. It's taking me too long to read a book that is not even that big. 😕

I feel like the reader is walking in the dark here because Lore was away for a long time, so there's a lot she doesn't know, plus Lore keeps things to herself with makes everything so frustrating uuuugh.

I don't know if it's just me but I have this feeling like a have many random pages of a very long, very complex story and I'm struggling to make sense of it. And it's not been exactly fun.

YES. I don't trust Athena, but she's my favorite until now. lol Sorry, Lore. I think you got it right! My bet is that she stole the aegis, and while everyone thinks is with her she dropped off somewhere maybe.

I kinda hoping Tiderbringer is alive, her death was so anti-climatic. We got to hope and cheer for Heartkeeper, but Tiderbringer is so far a name in the story. We don't know much about her, and consequently, have a lot of trouble caring.

Yes we certainly are in the blind. I noticed most of the chapters revolving around what happened 7 years ago are in the last Part. So we're gonna have to wait.

I think the issue is also how they are telling each other every little bit of information again in different words. Also, yes, the storytelling does get a bit complex as well. There have been 2-3 paras I had to reread.

Haha, she's everyone's fav! Yes, I think she has it or knows its whereabouts.

These were a bit easier to read, I guess I was more interested in the story the Reveler was spiling.

28: (view spoiler)[ Wow. Now everything about the suspicious relationship between Gil/Hermes and Lore makes sense. Bec it would be a stretch to try to sell two complete strangers (one of them being a teenager) agreeing to live together.

o Hermes was after Lore, but as Gil he told her all that stuff about being free. 🤔 He definitely left some bigger plan. In the beginning, he says to Wrath he will not find what he's looking for. I'm guessing is the Aegis. Did Hermes know where it is hidden? (hide spoiler)]

29: (view spoiler)[Ok, so Hermes was hiding her. We still don't know why. I’m kinda confused about Gil’s death. Did she not buried him? How he “died”?

I know I’m analyzing everything under a Lupe now, but Dionysius was hurt, possibly dead and Castor runs to heal the enemies? I mean, why. Not to stop for half a minute to check on Dionysius? He’s an ally for now.

Athena is quite practical… I don’t know if she did that to hide something or to simply put him out of his misery.

Moreover, since there were no more enemies in the surroundings, why Athena or Castor did not catch up with Lore? They’re technically faster than her right? (hide spoiler)]

30: (view spoiler)[Not gonna lie, like Castor I was kinda shocked with Lore’s, violence since she was so reluctant to fight until now, but I understand that is part of the Agon.

Lore’s character still confuses me, I like to have a more defined personality, so I know what to expect. Plus, in my opinion, it solidifies the character. To me, Lore is still lacking that definition.

Sadly, I was not even happy about their kiss. I don't know if is the lack of connection or it was just weird because of... everything, really. It did not feel like the moment to kiss, maybe Castor is right and she's only looking to distract him and herself from the situation (hide spoiler)]

31: (view spoiler)[ God, Belen actually exploded a lot of bystanders??? There should be rules against that! I know Castor wants to protect Lore, but he can’t pull her out of the Agon. She’s way too deep in it. (hide spoiler)]

32: (view spoiler)[ I have to say, this chapter made me go back to a few of Athena’s scenes at the beginning, and my suspicions about her are only solidified.

I’ll explain, please bear with me: during the whole discussion about what to do after the monstrosity Kadmos did, Athena is quite set on not search for Artemis and not ask her for help, considering is a very sensible idea. Then, as the decision falls on Lore, who is torn, Athena has this “calming sensation” over her. This is way too dangerous because now I don’t know which decisions are truly Lore’s.

Plus, going back, Athena is definitely keeping something serious from Lore, she convinced her to the bond by saying: "I know who killed your family". To which Lore responds: "Ares did". And Athena says: "who held the blade?" And she never answers that question. It just fades in the background. So, I’m having second thoughts about Ares killing her family.

I mean as Belen said: if Lore dies the shield disappears. So no one from Wrath’s house wants the shield gone. There’s no logic in killing the only ones who can hold it. Wrath is psychotic but I don’t think he is stupid. He would’ve probably found a way to capture them all and force them. But then, someone killed her family and Lore went into hiding.

Finally, I still don’t see what Athena has to gain binding herself to Lore. And as the book goes on, they don’t go back on it to think about it. She wants the aegis, yeah, that is pretty clear. But to get it was it necessary to bind herself to Lore? I don’t know.

Also, I had to laugh at Miles saying: "It's a good thing he won't catch me." Excuse me but, how are you so sure? (hide spoiler)]

33: (view spoiler)[Wow. The amount of pedophiles in this book is staggering. Now, how can the other hunters still think of that as normal??? They use technology but cannot evolve and stop these disgusting practices? My heart breaks for Lore. Athena cannot justify her petty actions, to give Medusa "Fury" is not an excuse for what she did. - [ ] I don’t know why they need this godkiller’s help, considering he killed his whole family, what could he offer

- [ ] So Reveler wants to kill Wrath because he killed his lover Hermes?
- [ ] But he doesn’t want anyone to help him, that makes no sense
- [ ] What? Then who killed the six ??
- [ ] And why doesn’t he want to help them kill Wrath? Wasn’t he wanting to kill him a moment ago?

Ch 28
- [ ] Sooo Hermes is alive?
- [ ] Clever tactic Miles used to gain answers from him

- [ ] And I really want to know how Lore At such a young age bested Wrath

Part 3 - Deathless
Ch 29
- [ ] Wow, Gil was Hermes. And it seems it was all to protect her but why? Why would he go to such lengths to protect her from others ?
- [ ] For the Aegis? Would Hermes keep her for the shield? I don’t know what to think anymore
- [ ] Ooo Belen, Wrath must be there or close, but why target her alone ?

Ch 30
- [ ] Oh my goodness, she cut his thumbs! She is ruthless!
- [ ] No offence but there hasn’t been any real emotion between Lore and Cas, like I know there are long friends but I never felt any real connection between them, so this kiss seems like nothing to me.
- [ ] Plus she kissed him at a wrong time! Like they just let Belen get away! Argh, dumb!

Ch 31
- [ ] Athena is right, all those people didn’t have to die, if Cas hadn’t gone and run after Belen, but how could they have seen that coming? They might have needed him. Argh this is so confusing, I don’t know who to trust

Ch 32
- [ ] Now see? There is more connection between Van and Miles then with Castor and Lore. Here Van is keeping an eye on him, without anyone telling him to do it. He obviously cares for him even if he may not ever admit it
- [ ] And I hope Lore tells Athena everything, she deserves to know it all about who she is and why they are looking for her
- [ ] I liked that Miles and Van both had a serious talk, even sneaky Miles asking if Van had a crush on Castor. Sneaky indeed
- [ ] But it was nice to know why Van is loyal to Castor and why Miles is loyal to Lore. I liked that they could confine in each other
- [ ] Oh my gosh he killed the girls??! For doing that to Belen! MONSTER!
- [ ] What I don’t understand is why Lore isn’t telling them about Hermes?

Ch 33
- [ ] Ah so that’s why women can’t fight for immortality, Athena May not allow it and it seems she only trained male heroes, that is very fascinating
- [ ] Wow, poor Lore, I can’t believe she was made to go through all of that while in Iro’s care but I am glad she killed him and ran away
- [ ] Poor girl, a man always have made choices for her, she was never truly free. But I am glad she spoke to Athena about it and Athena was able to share things about herself to her and why she didn’t things like turn Medusa to who she was to protect herself and why she’s doesn’t train women since the accidental death of her companion Pallos I am not saying it justifies her actions for what she did, it was horrible what Medusa had to go through. But I do like getting Two sides of the story

And don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for childhood romance, but let's be honest it's been 7 years since they saw each other. That's a lot. You're basically a whole other person after 7 years. I don't think you can fall in love within 3-4 days.

Van and Miles might even be attracted to each other, I can understand that. But I'm also not expecting big demonstrations of love, because again barely a week guys...

The thought about Apollo giving his powers to him is interesting; if he did that, WHY? Is it part of some bigger plan??

Haha, my pleasure! It was annoying me to not know the dream haha. Yes, having Miles around when not absolutely needed or comparatively safe is such a turn off.

Yes, If elt hat too that maybe Apollo gave it willingly especially when the new Dionysius said something to the effect too that it's all useless, but then again, WHY?

It was a bit much that Van did it to himself, I thought so too, but perhaps he wanted to escape killing others this bad?

And yes, that's a good point. What could the new Dionysius offer? I kinda think they are just desperate to have some ally.

I feel the same! There is a lot of information being thrown at us and I am getting confused half the time. Like some things you guys are saying in your thoughts and I read it and think, what? that was said? When did this happen? I am thinking I might need to read a lot more slower or re read some chapters, cause man it's like I am reading a whole different book from you guys XD

I am so confused about what role Hermes was playing in Lore's life. Like did he do it to protect her or to use her? I am conflicted with him :/

I guess that's true, Lore is not a strong character, but then again she is only 19 and her life it not as she expected. She is very confusing though

AHHH you think Athena killed her family? And that is why she bonded herself to Lore, so she can't kill her when she finds out? I think you might be onto something.

Really liked your thoughts, especially on chapters 32 and 33. Really good observations:)

Chapter 28

Part 3: Deathless
Chapter 29

Yeah, the new Dionysius had to die. Cas was an idiot in this chapter, genuinely. And yet again, ladies and gentlemen, Lore let her anger get the better of her. Was it not apparent to her? Chapter 30
(view spoiler)[I enjoyed the wild side of her. It was so cruel what they did to the little girls. But Belen ended up playing her back, which was irresponsible of them to follow him. He killed himself and the people too. Poor Cas though. He had the revelation too late, and it was a bit shitty of Lore to use it. If she doesn’t have aegis, where is it (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 31
(view spoiler)[ Athena’s presence was impressive. Will they part ways now? Still, for something being kept so hidden from the normal world, they sure are wreaking havoc everywhere! “Athena did as he asked, carefully navigating the hall without knocking Castor into the walls the way Lore knew she wanted to.” This was cute. Chapter 32
(view spoiler)[I remember how intently Lore cleaned any trace leading to the house before, and now it’s not even an issue. Van and Miles are too obvious, and finally tolerable again. It was a good conversation. I liked how they shared the truth behind their loyalties, and how Miles got Van to admit he isn’t crushing on Cas (Mile’s only possible challenger). I enjoyed the scene with Cas, it was almost as if she was coming back to being human after her wild adventure. I like Athena too much tbh. Wrath is a complete monster. Two little girls murdered. I don’t trust the asset, and I also don’t think what happened to the little girls needs retaliation which could be impulsive. I am also wondering why no one has yet tracked them down. It’s not like they have been hiding anyway, and with the tech Van has, I’m sure other houses do too. I think I would be more with Cas’s idea. This does seem like a trap already. Athena is starting to use whatever strategy she had since the previous chapter, she is gonna distance herself and Lore from others. It felt more like Athena pushing Lore to not go find Artemis. It seemed like a better option, also that calming effect felt weird. Is she using some power of her?

Also, as Laysa said: Yes, that’ true that we still don’t know why Athena had to bind herself to Lore and to tempt her by informing her that she knows who held the blade when her family was murdered. Athena is not to be trusted, and she has crept into Lore’s mind. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 33

I read this chapter with a bit of detachment, and it was clear how Athena everything Lore said back to how everyone else was holding her back, she just wants Lore to do it. Lore has been surprised how Hermes fooled her, and yet she is being fooled again. She does have the aegis, doesn’t she? Athena’s actions weren’t so good, though, and neither is her reasoning, it’s all very sugar-coated, but it was interesting to read nonetheless. A bit more perspective if nothing else. I’m back to wondering about Castor and Apollo. Is there any chance, Apollo and Hermes might be in on all this? Or am I making unnecessary connections now?
As for what happened with the new archon, I am actually proud of Lore. It was terrible to read what was about to happen. She did the right thing. Where is Iro's mother though? I would love to see more about Hermes. I wonder if we’ll see him, or is he really dead? I really want to know why he did what he did. Oh no, I just reread the prologue, and that was Hermes who died. He also told Wrath that he won’t find what he’s been looking for! Interesting. (hide spoiler)]

I feel the same! There is a lot of information being thrown at us and I am getting confused half the time. Like some things you guys are saying in your thoughts and I read it and think, what? that was said? When did this happen? I think he died in the prologue. After killing the previous new Ares, Wrath kills an old god who he calls the trickster and who mentions how Wrath won't get what he is looking for. I think it was Hermes.
