I'm first on the block to finish a book. Luckily it was one of those 1/2 step books in a great series

Midnight in Death by J.D. Robb Finished 4/7 Rating ★★★★

It is Roarke and Eve's first Christmas together and the house is beautifully decorated but things don't go quite as planned when a serial killer that Eve had put behind bars escapes and comes after her and everyone associated with his trial. I love this series and am slowing making my way through a very long list of books.

This was a great book , at first I thought it was a little too similar to The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I loved that book but I didn't want to see someone use that same idea just with a young girl as the lead. As I read on though this really does take off on it's on. The spin of her writing letters to the numerous celebrities that have passed was really interesting ,not only does it make it interesting to hear the story told that way but you learn a lot about the people she is writing to, almost like mini biographies because she uses examples from their own lives as it relates to hers. Some of the celebrities include Amelia Earhart , River Phoenix, Kurt Cobain, Judy Garland, Amy Winehouse and others. It is a coming of age story told through these letters that she writes to pour out her feelings about her sisters death and her guilt following. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Just finished reading a beautiful story by Mitch Albom, titled The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I have heard / read many polar reviews about this book, but I absolutely loved the story, probably because I am genuinely a sucker at sentimental, heart-wrenching stories happening with people. :)

When Shadows Fall by J.T. Ellison Finished 4/9 ★★★★★

This is the third and final book in the Dr. Sam Owens series. It was based in Nashville but Sam has recently moved to Washington DC to teach forensics at Georgetown University. While waiting for classes to start she is drawn into a bizarre case when she receives a letter from an unknown man asking her to investigate his death which will no doubt be ruled a suicide. She shrugs the letter off as some kind of nutcase but when she finds out that the man has just died she is sucked in. There is a lot going on in this story. It was a real page turner that got me from the very start.

They have to combine their magic and power to fight and hopefully defeat an evil power trying to control them and take their power--Spells, incantations, flying horses, humans who commuicate with animals, set in the location of rural Ireland-- what else is needed? This books centers around the only make cousin Connor and his lady love Meara--good read.
