For a holiday-themed story, I really enjoyed Rachel Bowdler's Honeymoon for One. Is it the most amazing thing I've ever read? No. Was it cute? Yes, mostly. Was it believable? Not a chance.

Honeymoon for One is going to require a lot of suspension of disbelief, and it was cute enough that that was easy for me to do. But Bowdler is a British author. Our main character, Robin, is also British. Robin travels to Alberta (Canada) for what was supposed to be a honeymoon. But Bowdler didn't seem to have a Canadian (or even North American) reader read this before publication because all the dialogue is very British. Plus, there's the whole idea of immigration that is just not addressed at all in this book and that was a bit irritating, especially as someone who immigrated to Canada.

The romance was cute, even if it happens way too fast. But I did appreciate how imperfect both Robin and Neve are. And there's a dog, which always makes me happy.
