Fresh Ink is a fun read for anyone who looks for the slightly unusual. It’s a gay vampire romance, but the word vampire isn’t used once. It’s more about what they do than what they are with this one.
On the surface, the story is simple enough: an ancient vampire meets a mortal witch, and they fall in love. But it’s so much more than that. There is found family and community; there are tattoo shops and fear of intimacy. There are dark, sinister soul eating catacombs. Sacrifice and magic. And, of course, a happy end.
The sex scenes are well written and even romantic. Very pleased about that.
I would recommend it to anyone who loves vampires and witches and a slice of other with their queer romance.
