Jenna's story was another good addition to the Safe Haven series. She's a local doctor and has been helping out at the shelter for awhile. She's also a single mother whose sister makes a surprise reappearance in Jenna's quiet life. When Jenna's sister is murdered and she is the lead suspect, Jenna turns to her ex boyfriend Calvin. Calvin is a local private investigator. He and Jenna had a bad breakup and neither one of them have moved past it. He has been avoiding her for the past few years and when she comes to him for help, he's tempted to turn her down. Calvin realizes that he needs to confront the reasons for their relationship ending if he wants to move forward with his life so he agrees to help her find out who murdered her sister. There's a lot of angst in their story and unless they can work together to solve this mystery and then work together to bring closure to their former relationship, neither will be truly happy. The question is, will Jenna be the murder's next target? It was told from dual POV and was a closed door romance.
