Taming Flame

“Taming Flame” by Therisa Peimer is a brilliant enemies-to-lovers novel about Flaminius - a Prince forced to marry in order to ascend the throne - and Aurelia - the responsible and grounded commoner forced to marry the Prince. They face a myriad of problems that threaten their rule, such as assassination attempts, endangering both their lives and their relationship. Peimer’s approach to the novel’s structure is unconventional, which is something I loved. Instead of your typical mish-mash novel where the main characters’ romantic lives are weaved in throughout the entire plot, this novel is split into two parts. The first is the build-up and exploration of their romance, and once they’re on solid ground, the second part begins where their reign and the political unrest of this world are explored. It ensures there is a solid foundation in their romance before the difficulties of ruling begin, which keeps the readers rooting for our main characters and engaged all throughout. This book is full of action, suspense, love, loyalty, betrayal and so much more. I loved reading it and highly recommend it to any other romance and sci-fi lovers.
