If you like the Empyrean series, you’d probably like this. No dragons and less “smut” but a good plot and easy read. It does have some elements of horror, torture, and graphic descriptions that may make your stomach turn but these are not a big part of the story. Several tear-jerking parts as well. On to the second!

"In short: addictive! Just stated it a day or two ago and pulled an all-nighter with it. So far, the spiciness has been minimal (🌶️/5) but descriptive. The story arch, though, has been captivating and continues to pull at my heartstrings for reasons regarding romance, family and war."
