I read this because I'm interested in novels that feature zines. The zines in this book liven the pace of the story a little and freshen the book's graphics. Their content mostly repeats sentiments already expressed in the main narrative, though giving it from one of the non-narrator voices for a page or so. That was cool.
I like that as the 16-year-old protagonist is discovering her white bisexual identity she is also discovering the mixture of privilege and lack of privilege that comes with it.
I would have liked more details about 1990s Riot Grrrl culture.
